Interesting. I didn't think that was possible to do without resorting to Nexts.
Can you tell us how you turned the relationship around?

This is pretty much the guy saying, "I'm staying with you just because of our kid and some vague sense of commitment. I was attracted to you at 32 and willing to tolerate your personality because you were hot, but now at 42, you're ugly and the thought of fucking you makes me sick. I'm too much of a pussy to just leave this unhappy marriage so I'll cheat on you instead."

That's a messy situation. The man never should have agreed to marry, and it was a bad idea to have a kid if he didn't want one. However, now that they're married and have a kid together, I feel bad for the wife. He's neglecting her in a serious way.

this is why you never never never should marry, not even your unicorn. it doesnt fucking matter what happens, there is (unless she earns more money than you, which is unlikely) absolutely no threatpoint in her leaving the marriage. Not only doesn't she lose anything financially - on the contrary, she gains financial freedom AND financial stability.
financial freedom because she doesn't have to justify her spending anymore and can fuck other people with your money, and financial stability because it doesn't matter if you become unemployed or not, you HAVE to pay (as your payments are based on imputed income and not actual income).
it is pure irony that for a woman to stay in a marriage means financial instability because you might lose your job, whereas a divorce grants her financial stability.
The irony must be eliminated.

Is this a clear case of the man swalloing trp? She kind of forced the marriage thing but she doesn't seem like a horrible person looking for a beta provider. Maybe I'm wrong, I'm new to this.

No way. This is beta bullshit top to bottom: GF lays the marriage ultimatum on him, he caved and regretted it from day one, now he's 10 years in with a 6 year old kid and knows he's legally fucked if he tries to get out now, instead he retreats to a bar and drinks his sorrows away.

"I gave him an ultimatum to marry me. I said marry me or beat it. Then he married me but said afterwards he felt like it was an ultimatum. I never want to give a man an ultimatum and then have him feel like he was given an ultimatum"
This lady is low-quality and should never have been married -- by anyone. She doesn't want him coming home late? He works the goddamn evenings as a bartender- what do you expect? And what do you care if he comes in at 4 am? You're asleep anyway; and most guys like to socialize just after they finish a day at work. God forbid he jump into the bed at 4 AM when she's asleep versus 2 AM when she's also asleep. (She says he stumbles in 4 AM which sounds like legit criticism until people apply the context that his bartending job probably ends most nights at around 2 AM)
How much divorce has to happen for men to take off the blinders and set far higher standards for behavior we expect from women. And not give up our power through marriage.

I'd really like to know the guys side of the story. I'm sure there's some revision going on in her narration, as it just seems so pat.
