Very recently came upon the knowledge I felt I knew inside for a long time. That being what we learn here at TRP. I have a very intelligent cousin that I normally bounce ideas off of. I asked him what he thought about femism and he stated that he was a marxist/liberalist feminist. After a few short messages he sent me this, what does TRP make of it?

First, you are wrong on anumber of points.

Second, I went to university for 6 years man, where do you think I got my information? Academic studies, government reports, etc.

Family violence victims primarily girls and women

Unless otherwise no ted, the following sections examine the characteristics of family violence according to the definition of family violence exclusive of dating violence. Police-reported rates of intimate partner violence tended to be highest among female victims and among those aged 25 to 34 years. This contrasts non-intimate partner violence, where the victims were predominantly male and where rates were highest among those aged 15 to 24 years. - pg. 5

Women at higher risk than men of intimate partner violence Police-reported data show that gender plays a role in the risk of intimate partner violence and non-intimate partner violence, albeit in different ways. In 2010, women were more vulnerable than men to intimate partner violence, with a rate of intimate partner violence nearly four times higher than that for men (574 per 100,000 versus 147 per 100,000) (Table 2.1). How are men valued more?

Statistical evidence demonstrates that women continue to earn less than men in Canada, as in all the countries that are members of the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD). This is the case despite the fact that women are catching up with men in labour force participation, and have caught up with men in educational attainment. The gap between what women earn and what men earn is known as the gender wage gap.

The gender wage gap is the difference between wages earned by men and wages earned by women. The gap can be measured in various ways, but the most common method is to look at full–time, full year wages. It is also possible to measure the gender wage gap on the basis of hourly wages. The most recent Statistics Canada data shows that the gender wage gap in Ontario is 28% for full–time, full–year workers. This means that for every $1.00 earned by a male worker, a female worker earns 72 cents. In 1987, when the Pay Equity Act was passed, the gender wage gap was 36%. The gender wage gap has been narrowing slowly over time.

The gender wage gap is caused by many factors, such as:

  • women choosing or needing to leave and re-enter the workforce in order to meet family care-giving responsibilities, resulting in a loss of seniority, advancement opportunities and wages
  • occupational segregation in historically undervalued and low-paying jobs, such as childcare and clerical work
  • traditionally lower levels of education (although this is becoming less of a factor as more and more women graduate from all levels of education)
  • less unionization amongst female workers
  • discrimination in hiring, promotion and compensation practices in the workplace

Please man feel free to provide a 100 reasons why it doesn't seem. But I do not care about what "seems" but what actually "is".

Men have power over women in general. They are more a danger of being raped than men. There are more politicians, cops, soldiers, and businessmen who are men than women, viz. the highest positions of power in society have been and continue to be held by men. The laws we have were in their majority drafted by men and are enforced in their majority by men.

More women are forced into slavery and prostitution than men and that true for every country on Earth.

I'm not denying that women haven't killed men, or raped, or beaten them. But the amount of male victims compared to women is statistically insignificant.

I'm not talking about individuals here, but as you can see from the stats, hundreds of thousands and when we talk globally, I am talking millions of people.

Have you studied women's history? For any county? At any time?

What government reports? Because social science is based on statistics, not personal anecdotes.

Our society is a patriarchy.
