It's something you have to practice on your own and get good at before you try with women. I first started doing it because I didn't trust my girlfriend and her anti child stance (and later learned I was right) and didn't want any accidents. I used condoms but it was just in case. I got really good at it and there was no chance of ever getting her pregnant.

When I became single I used it for the same reason. The benefit is that you can last longer, sometimes indefinitely, and you become the one that decides when and how to have sex. If you can handle yourself sexually then you can learn how to handle a woman sexually and you'll have no problem having sex.

I never understood the "Oopps!" mentality so many men have where they accidentally get a woman pregnant. If you can't control your own body you are letting someone else have control over you, which could determine your entire life from then on.

Out of genuine curiosity, what's the point of dealing with a girlfriend if you aren't going to cum via her?

[–]culofiesta -1 points0 points1 point 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

sex is more than orgasms. It's a lot of fun

There is a good chance your changes are because of growing older. correlation doesn't always mean causation.

I fucking hate that last line.. all the psych majors always say that shit like they're geniuses

[–]Paraxitic 0 points1 point2 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Disregard my last comment, I thought your response was to a different message of mine. With that said, that line is not a Psych only concept. It's a saying that has become popularized because the sheer amount of bad science being taught by bad schools. Our natural response to solve problems is to blame the something that correlates. This is part of how the human mind solves problems through pattern recognition. I understand how you hate it because it does sound pompous, but it makes a valid point that is easily ignored.

Correlation doesn't imply causation means "just because there is an agreeable trend in two different things, doesn't mean one thing caused the other thing to have that trend, or vice versa"

Confusing correlation with causation is a logical fallacy. Correlation means "two things having matching trends in the same time period but can not be identified as CAUSING each other to happen" eg: as cars got cheaper, the weather got warmer. Causation is the idea that it is reasonable that one trend is causing another trend or that there is proof of a relationship between the two trends eg: "as the weather got warmer, ice cream sales went up". It's hard for most people to get their heads around because its a critical thinking concept, not a psych concept. Fallacious thinking is a part of critical thinking and human logic, not psychology per se. I also agree it gets annoying as fuck to hear people rattle it off to sound smart when they don't really know what they're saying.

As someone who held onto his junk for over a month, it is safe to say that your semen is a definite factor when it comes to your aggression and motivation. Athletes would sometimes abstain for months before competition so they are at their best physical and mental state before competiting.

Science states that masturbation increases testosterone, but I'm in the firm belief that masturbation decreases it; seeing that OPs senses are dulling and your motivation is fading away.

I'm in the minority here on this issue, but there is a long, well-documented history of no-fap that is referred to as sublimation, where men refrained from masturbation, ejaculation and sexual activity so that the energy would be diverted into other activities, such as prayer, work, etc. There are other names for it, and other even more exotic practices.

From a scientific point of view, it takes time and energy to masturbate, and time and energy to produce semen. Expending energy takes something away. Also, upon orgasm, the body releases its own addictive store of psychotropic chemicals to reward the body for engaging in sexual activity and encourage repeat attempts, an evolutarionary adaptation with obvious advantages. This is why it is so difficult to stop once you start, and that's why the various authorities have always terrorized young people to try and keep them away from masturbation for as long as possible.

My take on this is that not fapping for long periods gives you testosterone stabilization on the long term and this (and DHT) is crucial in neuron development and maintenance, so your cognitive skills improve. I did start to notice this when I was 24, after 3 days without fapping my mood was always significantly better. Maybe in some people, frequent testosterone fluctuations can be disastrous for the body.

It's possible (with a little practice) for a male to have full on orgasms, contractions and all, without actual semen ejaculation. Something that may be relevant to your interests.

Not sure what the NoFap ideological stance on that practice is, and don't really give a shit.
