Summary- The poem "Our Greatest Fear" by Marianne Williamson is great motivation to becoming who you should be
I was feeling a bit down yesterday because I couldn't finish my last set and I really wanted it. Then I remembered my goto piece of mental pump. It's a poem by Marianne Williamson titled "Our Greatest Fear", which some have probably already heard of... If you haven't, here it is.
Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, and fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people will not feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It is not just in some of us; it is in everyone and as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give others permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.
So, who are you?
This poem is all about you recognizing who you should be, and not who society wants you to be. When I read it now, it has more meaning to me then before I swallowed the pill, because I can see it for it's RP truths.
Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. (pussies) Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. (real men) It is our light (Alpha Fucks), not our darkness (Beta Bucks) that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, and fabulous? (Women don't want me to be this) Actually, who are you not to be? (This is what women REALLY want) You are a child of God. (Brodin) Your playing small does not serve the world. (Lift bro, LIFT) There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people will not feel insecure around you. (Women: You're not going to get all big and muscley, cause that's gross. Men: That dude's probably got a tiny dick and is a meat head.) We are all meant to shine, as children do. (Kids give no fucks) We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. (Lift and you will look like Brodin, not some fat neckbeard/ ham beast) It is not just in some of us; it is in everyone and as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give others permission to do the same. (stop being a fat fuck, and others around you might do the same, especially your SO) As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others. (DREAD)
Lessions Learned: This poem is powerful motivation for me. It always spoke to me, but now, when I view it through a RP lense, I understand why. It was speaking to who I always new I should have been... Now, when I read this, I know who I should be, and By Brodin's Beard, I WILL BECOME THE MAN I SHOULD HAVE BEEN!
