Hi guys,
I've had some trouble with a teacher, who is also assigned as a mentor the next 3 years to guide me. From the start he has been really trying to impress me by bragging about how many things he does for the University, how he knows so much. Other students are really impressed by him. He tries to really position him as the Alpha in the course and his role.
Even due he is my mentor and should act professional towards me, he hasn't. As soon as he noticed that I was not impressed by him he tried to attack me as a person for the way I behaved ( while he barely knew me at that time), which he described as arrogant and closes. He recommended me to change my behavior. I didn't change my behavior, because that is up to me to decide and I don't him anything even if he would be right, which he is not. He tried to AMOG me in front of students, to which I responded apathetic and tries so again at every opportunity he gets.
Every few months I have short meetings with him to talk about my progress at the University and I feel a constant pressure during them. Unfortunately I am to some degree depend towards him, because he is the main person to contact if I need some help with anything concerning my course.
Am I being oversensitive here? Or is he really going to far considering his role and the professional attitude he should have?
Thanks in advance
