TL;DR : I am managing a group of girls for a school project and it is going horribly. How do I get them to follow and respect me to lead?

So...I am in my final year of studies. I have one credit left before I graduate and get into the real world. For my final course we have to put raise money and put on an event. For the class, I am part of the project management team and in charge of the marketing team which is made up of four, now three girls. One of the girls had not showed up for two weeks and she was responsible for sponsorship so I had to approach the program admin for money. The girls in the group said nothing and despite my efforts to communicate with them had not really replied to any of my requests. So last class I called them out on not having a list of potential sponsors in front of the whole class. Then upset with me , one of the girls using the pretense of asking to arrange a time outside of a class used that time to attack me. I told them I wasn't there to hold their hand and babysit them, they need to work and follow proper timelines or the whole project will go down. The girls kept attacking me and said well you didn't say "why". I kept ice cold and told them I didn't care. They need to produce. The girls did not like this and instead of resolving it with me afterward went crying (literally) to the other people in the project management team who are girls. This will impact my grade most likely because everyone is involved in evaluations.

Maybe, I should not have called them out in front of the whole class but I was upset because I told them multiple times and even gave them an extension. I told them I don't mind being a badguy so long as the work gets done and yea I'm an asshole and it seemed to fuck with their reality pretty hard. I want them to respect me. How do I get this to happen?
