I was having a conversation with a girl on my team at work. It's obvious we like each other but haven't decided to shit where I eat quite yet. I'd like to fuck her at some point though.

Somehow dogs came up. She didn't seem to like dogs as much as I do (I have a 10 yr old lab)

Me: "I like dogs...the closest you can get to unconditional love"

I should've seen her response coming.

"You can find unconditional love in people too"

Me: "like who?"

"Significant others, parents"

I smiled to myself, "No you can't" and switched the subject.

Half of me thinks I came off as a dick, or revealed the fact that I have a depressing outlook on the world and society in general(which hasn't been a huge hit with women in the past).

The other half of me thinks:

-I showed intelligence because I don't buy fairytales

-I subtly told her that with me, she'll have to meet my conditions for my commitment/love

Which side are you guys on?

Any tips for the next time we have a conversation like this?

Does her willingness to have this conversation/her responses indicate interest in me?
