I think that's reasonable. Usually something cocky funny works there:

"wow already complaining about your problems"

"great me too"

"whens the wedding?"

Instead of this typical "bro" response you should've agreed and amplified:

"I don't think I have room for two."

or

"Hold your horses, I just wanted you to meet (insert pet name here)!"

or

"Does he not allow you to take tours of people's houses?"

These are just frameworks of what you could've said that would've probably led to her visiting you. I don't believe "hmu when you're single" is going to get a response, but I could be wrong.

Was there any build up in the conversation before that? Because asking a girl with a boyfriend out of the blue for HER to come out and visit you isn't going to work unless you used to bone or something and she probably just denied you if it was that dry.

You wont hear back from her. You outright said you weren't ok with her situation. She was trying to tell you she was ok with it.

Better response, bring him along, we can teach him a few things.
