Generally around here and according to Rollo Tomassi, the term "Hypergamy" refers to a dual mating strategy where women want to have both BB and AF (where they get providership from the first but prefer the second for lover-ship/sex).

However, that's not the original meaning of "Hypergamy" at all. Traditionally, it refers to the female tendency to be attracted to higher socio-economic status.

Why do we use the same old word for something that's really very different from "Hypergamy"'s original meaning? In many ways, they are even opposites. The Jordan Peterson style use of the word implies that typically BB/high SMV males are most attractive to women. But according to Red Pill theory men representing that approach are the ones who become cucks -- basically the opposite and in many ways worst possible sexual outcome.

Since the implications of each meaning of the word implies a very different optimal male sexual strategy, I wonder why Red Pill didn't use a different word. Thoughts/opinions would be greatly appreciated.
