Hello all i have a question for the people who are more experienced in fitness. Can the concept of doing only bodyweight exercises have the same benefits as lifting weights at the gym?

Just to be clear i enjoy lifting and have started about 4 months ago but at the same time i really enjoy doing calisthenic type training and besides building muscle i want to build a body that can endure and perform (hand stands, flags, etc...). And besides this my gym isn't working during the summer (i'ts a student only gym).

Now after doing some research i learned that yes, you can build muscle with bodyweight just a little harder then with weights and that the difference is you won't be able to lift so much heavy things, but on the plus side you have better control over your body and endurance.

I would like if someone can share their experience with calisthenics, does it have the same effect on testosterone, does it have the same effect on your confidence as lifting weights, is it even true that you can build muscle properly this way?

Because as it seems to me TRP only praises heavy lifting as the only form of exercise, and no other mentions of playing sport (like basketball, football, etc), swimming, cycling and so on.
