If you guys normally wait for the girl to bring up the talk do you ever mention non exclusivity before then?

Was seeing a girl for a couple of months and things got pretty messy recently, really feels like I lead her on unintentionally. She gave me the talk and she wanted an answer then, I told her straight up that I didn’t want a LTR and I was still seeing other girls. She was pretty hurt and seems like a good girl which made me care quite a bit. Is it bad to bring up that your are not looking for anything serious early on?
