What's up you guys. New to the subreddit and seeing all these posts reminds me of something that happened to me a few years ago.

A little background info: I'm a pretty social guy and am respectful to everyone I meet or interact with. I don't hate women but I don't put up with their bullshit either or anyone's bullshit for that matter. For example, when I was single (I'm married to a beautiful woman now) I wouldn't buy women drinks to get their attention or give them special attention in general just because they're women. I never would just grab people or try to grind on a woman when she's dancing or anything like that. Would always ask them if the wanted to dance which gives them a chance to say no thank you. No biggie if they said no. Baseline level of respect right? Right. Now for the story.

Cast: Me, friendly girl (FG) Barf Girl (BG), her drunk friend also a girl (DF) and my friends

So my friends and I are scoping around Dupont Circle in DC for whatever bar has a good crowd, good music etc. We head down to scope out Heist which is a really cool bar.

We're walking down the street joking, laughing and having a good time being young single guys and whatever. We're on the same street as the bar now and I spot this group of girls sitting down tending to their super drunk friend. We just walk past and line up for the bar.

We head in after getting patted down and head downstairs to see that the place is next to dead. No big deal, it was kinda early in the night so we head back out. We spot the same group of girls still tending to their super drunk friend and some how in the span of only about 5-10 minutes she's looking much and throwing up all over her feet

I'm in the front of our little group of guys and I stop by the group of girls. Me: "hey you guys, your friend doesn't look so good right now you should probably get her some water or something." FG: yeah she drank wayyyy too much." BG is now leaning on the glass store front going in and out of consciousness looking like she might puke again any moment.

That's when DF gets up angrily and walks up to me. She's a pretty girl I'll admit, kinda thick, taller than me in heels (I'm only 5'9 175cm for the rest of the world). DF: "why don't you get the fuck out of here, we got it covered." Me: "whoa chill out, we're only trying to help no need to be rude." DF: yeah well we don't need your fucking help so fuck off." I stare at her thinking to myself "why tf are you so ma....." I see an airborne torrent of water heading right to my face before I can even finish the thought. I'm in a nice dress shirt and now I'm fucking soaked. I look down and see the mostly empty water bottle in her hand.

Me: "yo what the fuck?! Are you fuckin kidding me?" DF: "should have minded your own business." Me: why the fuck did you throw water at me, I didn't do shit to you." DF: starts to respond but I cut her off snatching the water bottle from her hand and throwing it in the trashcan next to me. Me: "you just fuckin assaulted me you know that right?" My buddy starts trying to pull me away and I brush his hand off. Me: "How about I walk over to those cops across the street and go tell them about it? All my friends saw what happened." FG: "yeah DF why did you do that?"

Now this is DC, it's really liberal around here and the police are pretty good and non biased.

Now her attitude changes and she apologizes. Me: "nah fuck that, if I would have knocked you on your ass I would be well in my right to defend myself, right?" She's look a bit ashamed now so I continue my lecture. Me: you don't fucking do that, I would understand if I was being a dick but I've been nothing but friendly with you guys and your fucked up friend. It's not my fault y'all are dealing with this right now." BG is throwing up in the background again. Me continuing my lecture, "just because you're a girl doesn't mean you can act like a piece of shit and get away with it." DF: I'm sorry I'm really drunk. Please don't get the police." And she tries to give me the sloppy drunk hug and I push her away. Me: "think about that next time you're about to do something stupid because some dudes don't give a fuck and will flat out knock you out. You're not special so don't be an asshole." And we walk away, me wet and frustrated.

I hadn't thought about that in years now but man. I just thought this was a good story that'd fit here. Thanks for reading guys. Take it easy.

Cause I'm a guy. Let's not shit twisted here fellas. We all love justice being served but the reality is that shit probably wouldn't have faired out for me very well. Even if the police agreed with me, if all the people on the street saw me knock out this chick with no context I would probably get jumped. Even worse, how do you think it would hold up in court? A girl throws water on you and you give her a traumatic brain injury? It's great when you can serve justice and not get caught but not everyone will agree that justice needed to be served. We're at the mercy of our peers here fellas. Sometimes you have to pick your battles. Make smart decisions guys. Not everything is worth proving a point.

Don't get me wrong I agree with you guys to some extent. However, it's a lose lose situation. A lot of fellas here (including me) will applaud when they see some chick get rocked for being a cunt but for something so small as water which did nothing but ruin my mood for 15 minutes, it's not worth hurting someone else, possibly permanently, man or woman. People do stupid shit, I've done stupid shit and I've learned from it without getting a concussion.
