Hey guys, throwaway for this one. Vulnerability and neediness. It's something I am actively working to change, especially after reading Mark Manson's Models. My home life and past relationships make it difficult for me to open up to other people. I've been actively trying to open myself up to rejection and possible pain to become a stronger version of myself, but lately it's just getting hard to bear. Almost everything I do is meant to address this problem of mine. I open direct. I'm very blunt about everything. I drop statements of intent very early. My text game is geared to get girls out ASAP, I don't text much, only to set up day 2s. I escalate persistently. When I want a girl I pursue her hard and direct (within reason of course, keeping PUA guidelines in mind).
I had my first "success" in the game about two months ago. By success, I mean a girl I thought I had true chemistry with, that it was on from the very moment we met. I had a month long fling with a taken girl, girl #1 (she told me she was taken after I # closed, though I said fuck it and kept pursuing anyway for the reference experience and I felt like we had a connection) which blew up in my face after her long distance boyfriend visited one weekend, I saw her once more afterwards, got needy, and she just fucking cut me out of her life. Shit, maybe I really like this girl. Then BAM, gone. It still fucking tears me up to see her around, it's been a month since I've last contacted her (college campus), seeing her tonight with another guy is the primary motivation for writing this post.
Another girl (#2) shortly after I approached, # closed, and set up a date. I'd casually text her during the week, not really giving a fuck, saw her in person, was incredibly aloof (I actually wanted to be somewhere else during) and she was qualifying herself like no tomorrow. Escalated during the date, all went well. I start to think, huh, actually this girl is kinda cool. Let's see her again. I try to set up another date, it's been three weeks, fucking nothing. She'll reply but she's always busy.
Then there's girl #3, and a few others that have acted in similar ways. I open direct, day 2, etc, escalate, goes well, but for whatever reason I just lose interest and stop trying. I won't text them, I might invite them to shit, might ask them what they're doing then never follow up after. Usually I'm planning these girls as backups in case my new leads or the girls I'm chasing like #1 and #2 don't pan out. These girls are no problem to get out. Girl #3 chases like no fucking tomorrow.
What the fuck? It seems in the last four months that the only things that have gone well are when I just don't give a fuck. Like literally don't care. The moment I make that switch in my head "huh this girl is cool," everything goes to hell.
So my question for you guys, how do I kill this bullshit? This neediness that springs up anytime I hit it off with somebody? And how do I get over this bullshit "one-itis" for girl #1?
I don't even know what to call it and honestly I'm embarrassed I still feel this way. I still approach, and have seen MANY girls on day 2s since her (atleast 6-7, not counting repeats), and I can't get her off my fucking mind. I intellectually understand she was taken and I had no right even speaking to her to begin with, and I didn't "lose anything." I understand I can't control her and all I can do control is myself. I randomly think about her almost daily, I'm afraid of seeing her now everywhere I go because I just melt into a little bitch. Anytime I see her, hear about her, think about her, I just feel angry (at myself for feeling it, and somewhat at her for disappearing though I know it's not justified), embarrassment, panic, shame, etc. Just shit. I don't know why she hits all these emotional triggers. She sat a row behind me with some dude at this event tonight and I fucking just wanted to run out of the building.
I don't even know. I guess part of this post is just a vent. I almost feel like it'd be best to just keep all girls at a distance, fuck vulnerability, never open up, and let girls chase. Never get hurt, but never let anybody in. I know this is ridiculous because I'm speaking emotionally but still... I'll appreciate any feedback I get from you guys, thanks in advance.
TLDR: Can approach, get dates, escalate, but the moment I decide "I might like somebody," girls just disappear. Feeling fucked up after being "left" by girl. Struggling with opening myself up to emotional pain and wanting to just keep girls at a distance.
