They have vaccines for hpv which causes genital warts and in rare cases can cause throat cancer in men. This one is difficult to prevent even with a condom because you can catch it by rubbing up against a wart in the genital area. They use liquid nitrogen to burn it off. You can catch herpes from someone who has it even when they have no visible outbreak. I know someone who caught gonorrhea from after sleeping with 20 chicks in a year and another woman who caught clamydia from unprotected sex with a guy. (both are bacterial infections that go away completely with antibiotics). however hpv, herpes, hiv are viruses that typically stay in the body (hpv eventually leaves). the best way to prevent std's is being monogamous. sucks i know.

You take a chance every time you fuck someone you dont know. She could be the nicest sweetest girl in the world but have the most deadly disease known to man inside her. You really dont know. And sex is not worth waking up one day with your dick covered in warts or being told by your doctor that you have AIDS. You could be incredibly lucky and never catch anything, but the number of people who have STDs increases every day. And things like AIDS, Herpes, and warts are things that never go away. Get to know the chick, and get her tested first. Its the best way. I nearly got Herpes from a girl that I banged that never told me. Its not worth it man.

Seriously, your life is in your own hands here, man. Women will lie to you and "change" their standards of behavior if they want sex enough (which is the purpose of learning pickup for many guys -- double-edged sword when it comes to STDs).

None of the pickup gurus have any incentive to tell you the truth, nor do most guys who want to brag about how "Alpha man-whore" they are.

Unless you're in a long-term monogamous relationship AND you trust the woman to be honest AND both of you have been tested since you became exclusive with one another, always assume that she has something that you don't want. If she hasn't been tested, she doesn't know one way or the other, regardless of how "nice" or "normal" she may otherwise be.

Twenty percent of people infected with HIV don't even know it.

And having herpes can make you more susceptible to HIV as well as develop into more serious health problems like shingles and encephalitis later in life. The idea that "people in Europe don't care" makes no difference to the fact that you definitely don't want to pretend that it doesn't exist while you enjoy random make-out sessions with every cute-looking chick at the club or bar.

The HPV vaccine only works reliably for people up to age 26, and of course Michael Douglas is the unlikely champion of what can happen if you catch that lovely little gift.

Do your own research. Better safe than dead, sick, debilitated or wasting away for the sake of being the king of the fake Alpha males.

I just got a bacterial std. I'll let you guess which one. Luckily it wasn't something more severe. Practice safe sex every single time and bullshit like this won't happen.

STDs are common. Use protection. It is a risk. Nothing you can do about it other than abstinence to ensure 100%.

just use condoms - maximise your chances of staying clean? Okay it's not 100%, but it's a lot better than zero. And if condom sex is a turn-off, learn how to do it better - especially the sizing & lube tricks.

The rate of infection from herpes with no sign of an outbreak and condom usage is incredibly small. Always take a look before sex :)

Not to mention, something like 60-70% of people over 35 have herpes anyway.... it rarely makes anyone sick or has complications.

Read up on the statistics of transmission and decide for yourself.

I know guys who have a new girl every week or more and are totally clean... use condoms and use your head.

I've been with about 25 women, never used a condom, and - ironically - my first GF gave me an STD because she was a lying, cheating whore.

I may be off a little here, but I recall that if a man has heterosexual intercourse with a woman and she has AIDS, you have a 1 in 25 chance of also contracting AIDS.

Other STDs are not so hard to catch, but many can be cured.

But herpes ... no, I don't want to catch that one.
