I think I say this every time, but I'm amazed at my improvement in such a short amount of time. Confidence really is key.

It's been a little over a month since my last FR, and I've gone out a handful of times since - sometimes with friends, sometimes solo. I've had fun, but I've noticed that with increased confidence I am more picky. One girl, for example, couldn't stop talking to me about her important job. She was pretty and obviously trying to qualify herself to me, but she was overselling and it came off as extremely desperate. This girl then asked me to buy her a drink, and I said, "no way." And that was that.

Most recently I went out solo, sat at the bar, and had a relaxing time just decompressing from the work week. I started chatting with a girl next to me, and she introduced me to her cute friend. I specifically went to sit next to this friend, and I did the usual: introduced myself, got a good conversation going, did some keno escalation, got her phone number, and at the end of the night she invited me back to her place. Sometimes it seems so easy.

At a couple points during the night, male "friends"of hers approached her and were clearly trying to steal her attention. You know what I did? I let them try. I even turned away from her and started talking more to her friends, but that just made her shut them down even faster. It wasn't that I was trying any technique, it was that I was confident. If they did manage to steal her away, I knew that there were a few other girls around that I was interested in talking to anyway (so no huge loss for me).

Really, guys (and girls too), confidence is your #1 asset. This is the biggest lesson I've learned so far.
