Checklist for good date conversations?

You don’t need a checklist. You want things to form organically and flow naturally. Things never stick to the script you make in your head. Simply ask about this things that you share in common. You find conversation she likes to talk about and keep asking her questions about it.

You want to be in the moment and not in your head thinking about a checklist.

James Tusk is big on using and teaching the Question Game for dates.

A bit of a ploy to escalate but he and his students swear by it. I would like to hear more about it or see an infield or a sample script or something.

I gather, you agree to take turns asking each other 1 question per turn. The rules are, no boring questions, no repeat questions (asking the same question back), and honest answers. Needless (?) to say the guy is supposed to ask sexual questions at some point (how many partners, first, best or worst sexual experience) but I'm unclear on "how soon" to escalate, or how the game ends.
