Don't get too smashed. College parties tend to turn into a drinking arms race. And you'll never pick someone up if you end up passed out on the lawn.

Not saying to never get smashed though. I think everyone needs to find their limit sometime.

after you fill up your beer at the keg, stay for a little bit and fill up a few peoples' cups and just talk to them. It doesn't matter who it is, hopefully some nice lookin ladies but it's a good way to get used to chatting with people you don't know. A dude I knew would spend at least an hour at the keg just filling cups and meeting people. And hey, worst case scenario you don't have to wait in line for beer.

You're already ahead of the game. Parties the first week of college are the easiest way to meet guys and girls in the history of the western world. Don't drink too much. Don't worry too much about hooking up tonight. Focus on meeting, and connecting, with as many people as possible. The idea is to network the entire first week, so that for the next 4 years, no matter what party you go or what class you take you'll already know someone, or at least someone's friend.

Disclaimer: Only do the following with people who are 5's and up. Be nice to, but generally stay away from fat chicks and creepy looking dudes. Anyone who looks or acts like an outcast isn't going to help you out.

Say hi to anyone who makes eye contact with you. If they stop to talk, ask them where they're from. Poke a little fun at the answer, say "Isn't it pretty (smelly, sweaty, frigid, dangerous, whatever) there, how do you like it here so far?." Do this for a while and try to remember everyone's name. Eventually you'll meet someone who's from the same place as someone you've already met. Say hey I just met a Jenny from Wisconsin, did you come with her? Well you have to meet her. Take the person (by the hand if it's a girl) through the party and introduce them, and make sure to tell them your name again. If it's a big party ask the other two standard questions while you're walking through the crowd. What's you're major and What dorm do you live at. If the major is hard, comment on it being their last night of freedom - easy say then i'll be seeing you out at all the parties. You probably won't know much about the dorms but ask if they've met any cool people there yet. Bounce around the party and check on people you've introduced. "So did you find out you're cousins?" "So who's skipping class first while the other takes notes?" "So what's the best way to sneak booze into your dorm?" (correct answer: In a laundry bag with clothes.) If they're cool, suggest you all exchange numbers, and that you should all hang out at another party that weekend if you know of one, if not, whatever freshman bbq, concert, thing the school has planned this weekend. Don't worry about following through with all these people. Just go to the event with a couple people from your dorm and you should have a ton of people calling you to meet up.

As for the girls, keep it flirty and stick to the hot ones. You don't want to be known as the guy who banged a fatty or the wasted chick. You're already DHVing by knowing a ton of people at the party. Ask them what their favorite drinking game is and have them teach it to you. Ask them where there favorite hookup spot was back home. If they're laughing and having fun, tease them about going to college only to find a husband or to have their first lesbian experience. Have fun with it and follow their lead if it's going somewhere sexual, but don't push it. This may seem a bit beta but you don't want to be labeled creepy. If a girl wants to hookup in college she'll make it obvious. And remember, the best thing you can be called is a man-whore. Self-fulfilling prophesy.

well I'm assuming alcohol is involved so that should make things a lot easier.

Also since you've never utilized anything before, why not just go out there loosen up a lil bit (don't get smashed) have fun and put some extra effort to talk to the ladies.

Just feel comfortable talking with them first and then add some of the things you learned here.

such as: DHV, opening sets, etc and if you notice IOI's go for some Kino and keep going

try to lose any AA you would normally have tonight

Then come back with a FR

I can't emphasize enough to get buzzed but not drunk. Enjoy yourself and have fun. Don't be obnoxious and as everyone has said before....every and I mean every female is game.

Hahaha. Don't worry about what seddit has to say. Don't be such a geek. Go to the party and get drunk like everyone else. You'll get laid. People have plenty of sex in college and you don't have to use parlor tricks to impress the girls. That shit comes later.
