One day (not long ago) a girl who I was going out with told me that a very good present for a woman would be if her boyfriend gives her a small little book where it was written their story, how they met, how it was the first time they kissed, etc. When she said that then I secretly started writting a diary. I've never liked writting diaries, the last time I tried I noticed that I'm not good at it because I always forget about it and the diary ends up empty or uninteresting, but I wanted to give it another try and also use it in case someday I could give her the present she talked about. So I started writing up everything we did, storing it as a txt file in my hard drive.

We started a relationship but just a few weeks later we broke up and I stopped writing, and I was lacking interesting things to write. But then, recently, I watched a great conference by David Wygant and it showed me more reasons to keep writing.

The purpose of it is to help me take more attention on the details of my everyday life and avoid rutine, trying to focus on what makes each day different and have always something to chat about. I think that this might help me giving more elaborated and detailed answers when some girl asks me: "how do you do today?". It might help me to write down all the important dates, avoid forgetting all the little details I notice about someone, it might help me to improve my observation skills, and it might put some words to feelings that maybe would be harder to come out on-the-fly during a conversation but easy after having thought about them while writing them down.

I was just wondering if any of you, sedditors, take diary notes too, and how frequently do you do it, what kind of things do you write, and what style. And is it really helpful?
