I am aware that I am a very good looking and charismatic alpha male. I apologize if I sound arrogant and understand if you don't believe me, but for experiment's sake just bare with me here:

I just turned 30 yrs old and I am currently taking a college course which means I am in a classroom surrounded by 18-22 (give or take) yr olds. Needless to say, being older grants me the benefit of having a lot more confidence and game than your average college student. I'm also a good student and often raises my hand to participate in class discussions. So coupled with the fact I am considered very attractive and likable has sorta turned me into the class heartthrob which is very flattering, but also gives me a chance to observe the effect of a dominant alpha in an environment of adolescent young adults (specifically women). I would appreciate any insight to back up or correct my observations! HERE ARE MY FINDINGS:

  • Girls gravitate to me. Being very outspoken in discussions allows me the opportunity to display my personality, voice tonality, sense of humor and intelligence. It did not take long to notice the women beginning to sit near me, and before I know it I was surrounded by girls. I do not believe I am misinterpreting this. Many times, I observed girls that arrive late to class come through the door and directly go sit in the seats near me when there are plenty of empty seats everywhere (the classroom is in an auditorium).

Perhaps this is subconscious?

  • Girls always stare at me. Usually when a person addresses the teacher or asks a question, the people sitting in front of that person remains looking forward. In my case, heads turn around and people even nod in agreement to a comment I make. I also often catch girls staring only to smile and look away when I make eye contact. Every girl I look at nervously smiles, and looks away to break eye contact. Even when I ask to borrow a pen I get nervous smiles.

I assume this is also subconscious?

  • Girls get dolled up. Let's say a few minutes before class begins, I may greet a girl with a smile and a "hi" or "how you doing?" I am greeted back with nervous smiles and hair fixes. When we return on the next class meeting, I see the girls I said hi to wear a lot more make up, hair done, and dressed noticeably sexier. I often see this happening too consistently to be a coincidence. I am a humble person and acknowledge this might be misinterpreted, but I am feeling too convinced.

Can anyone female reddit-ers offer some insight or confirmation?

  • Other men challenge me. Being the center of attention in the classroom (other than the professor obviously) has its perks. But along as well comes competition. I am not threatened by any challenge invitation. In fact, I think it is a great honor if I can inspire people to speak out more. But many times, I noticed a lot of dudes who were invisibly silent prior begin to speak up outta nowhere. I don't want to say "stupid", but a lot of the questions/comments I hear are rather "obvious" (for lack of a better term). I also hear a lot of big words being incorrectly used in an attempt to "sound smart". For example one guy raised his hand and confidently asked " Can the defendant be transmuted to a lesser charge?" (this is a criminal law intro class BTW). I do not think he understands what that meant. I am not convinced that was a genuine question.

Has anyone had a similar experience? Do other men really feel threatens?

Also, I've observed a guy walk in and choose the seat directly next to me (which in this scenario is noticeably weird) and begin to feel the need to bombard the teacher with nonsensical and poorly articulated questions as if this was a competition of who is the smartest.

Are these guys beta or other alphas fighting to be top dog?

  • lastly, People appear intimidated. For example: the teacher asks a question. The classroom responds in silence and begins to look at me as if they are anticipating my answer. Keep in mind that the last thing I want is to be the class know-it-all. I intentionally try to make my voice and intonation sound confident but not arrogantly cocky. Even if I'm sure of an answer, I'll say "I think the answer is such and such".

In conclusion, the college class has given me the opportunity to consciously observe how social dynamics naturally works. Although I operate with that in mind, none of the things I say or do (alpha body language and mannerisms) is forced as it is all instinctive. I can care less about beating other guys, and I hope you do not misinterpret my findings arrogant as I do not know any formal pick up artist or seduction strategies. Everything I say and do is either instinctual or learned from years of experience, trial and error...etc

Thanks for any comments and insight!
