It sounds like some direct flirting would be good for you, maybe since sex is more taboo in India don’t say direct sexual things but throw in comments on her looks, joke about your relationship with her, and learn ways to make your interactions more man-to-woman (I recommend Todd V on YouTube, he is pretty weird in my opinion but his videos on the structure of flirting are probably the best on YouTube in terms of how easy they are to apply right away.) accept that this will take a bit of practice, and won’t be perfect right away, but you will probably see some instant improvement if you just try to be more man to woman.

In terms of escalating physically, make sure to establish physicality early, maybe by giving the girl a hug when you first see her (not sure if this is a thing in India) or at least giving her a light touch on the arm. Work on getting more physicality in to your conversations with women, both casually and in a flirting way. This will also take some time to get fully comfortable with. For me, I felt weird even giving a girl a handshake or fist bump in a friendly way until I had done it maybe 20 times with different people. Same with hugs and holding hands and all that. What i usually do is try telling them a scenario of how a perfect date would end. I would describe it as detailed as possible and if u are in person a little touching on her arm or leg wouldnt hurt. Make sure to also maintain healthy social skills, you said you dont have an issue maintaining good conversation, that's a good skill to have, dont unnecessarily dampen it.

Try striking up conversations with more women everywhere you go to increase your chances as well as increase the amount of opportunity you have to experiment.

While I havent really listed exact formulas on what to try and that's because this kind of stuff is very person-specific, what specifically works for you wount work for me and vise versa which is why the best thing to do is increase the amount of situations where you can see what works best for you.

The is a technique i found very interesting a while ago and i since then used it 2 times and it really helped in both situations. If you feel tension at one point just randomly give the girl a "is this the part where we kiss?" It is very passive, tests the waters and leaves it totally open for the woman to react. The only question is with what tone u ask the question. U can do it more sarcasticly or serious. It is super helpful for me. You can exchange "kiss" to whatever fits your need.
