No contact works when she had a high level of interest in you before and it starts to wane a bit. Not so much some you barely know. You possibly scared her off by saying that you wanted more, leave the relationship status up to her. Your focus should be on just having a good time. A bird will stay in your hand but as soon as you try to close your hand the bird flies away.

Well what are you hoping out of no contact? Do you want to get over her, then yes no contact is the only way to go. For me because I’m highly emotional, I know the only way for me to get over someone is to keep seeing them until I realize its not worth it. Then no contact begins.
