It's not your "line" that isn't working. Its the conversation afterwards. You could open with the funniest thing in the world but you still have to escalate the conversation and keep her interested for x amount of time in order to close. I've seen plenty of men here good with women say they just open with "hey". Seems like its your conversation skills that need practice and not the opener. The only way to improve is just start approaching more and more. As you say dumb/uninteresting shit you will learn from it.

I came up with a lot of lines while I'm in state, and I just kept on re using them. Lines that I've taken from others don't really work because my delivery is off.

Its also more attractive to women if they think you came up to talk to them for some reason other than they're hot. They want to have value outside of their attractiveness.

Don't learn any lines. You get abundance and skill through improving yourself slowly and interacting with people at work, out shopping, etc. The lines might work but girls can easily figure out who is faking after they test your frame and it crumbles. If you're struggling with text game like I do playing with fire is good but your goal should always be moving the interaction to sleeping with the girl as fast as she's comfortable with
