Greetings seddit, I've been reading for a while and I get pretty bad AA but I thought it was time for me to try out my hand at a FR.

Let me set the stage: My company hosts a picnic every year at the park that is right next to our office. It's also at the same time as a summertime concert series here. A perfect afternoon activity to work on my day game.

I'm sitting with a couple of coworkers, and I notice this HB8. She's standing listening to the music and talking to a friend. I comment to one of my coworkers (female) that she is very pretty, coworker agrees. I start thinking about talking to her, but major AA sets in and I do nothing.

After a few minutes, her friend leaves and she starts just staring at her phone. Eventually she sat down and I knew this was the best chance I was going to get.

I got up and walked over and said "Hi! I couldn't help but notice you standing over here and wanted to tell you that I thought you look very pretty. My name is Pallatine". I offered her my hand, and made sure to maintain eye contact.

We made some small talk (I don't remember exactly what was said).

I said "I'm going to be straight to the point. Do you have a boyfriend?"
She said "No I don't have a boyfriend."
"Would it be weird then if I asked you out" (Horribly beta way to ask, but I tried!) "I recently got out of an engagement, so I'm not really looking to date right now" "Oh, I understand that. How about this, we trade numbers and we take some time to get to know each other" and I handed her my phone.

Then I told her that I had to go back to work, but it was nice talking to her and offered her my hand again. She said she's a hugger and then we hugged as we said goodbye.

TL;DR - Saw a girl and initially hesitated. After a few minutes I overcame AA and got her number.
