Common law marriage is not recognized in most US states. Though, it is in Canada. As always, (in the US) check your state laws.

You're confusing the proxy indicator for the thing itself. OP is saying that women will come as a result of achieving success, not that women are the goal itself.

It's the "treat all guns like they are loaded" rule. You take precautions as if the worst case is possible to protect yourself from catastrophe.

But on the other hand, you'll never get the low lows again either. Being in control of your sexual destiny will keep you hovering at content-to-good most of the time. To continue OP's analogy, it's like becoming an adult with a good paying job. You buy your own Christmas presents now, and you'll never disappoint yourself... but you can't recapture that innocent, overwhelming joy of surprise when you were a kid on Christmas

The Sheryl Sandberg quote is quite telling and pretty honest Red Pill advice to women who want to fully exploit their SMV during it's ebb and fall. To blue pill men, they should hone in on the implication of her advice: if you want sex without commitment from girls in their prime, be a "bad boy" and don't show signs that you want an equal partner, value opinionated/ambitious women, or value fairness. And it's literally what makes you sexy. Basically giving guys instructions on how to be a Red Pi…

What? It's amused mastery 101. The purpose is to act like it's a borderline joke to keep the hampster spinning over what you're really thinking. Not that hard to pull off.

That's true re: height, probably the most influential and completely unchangeable variable for a man's SMV. However, if you give a short guy access to TRP and he uses it to get laid at least 6 times in his life, he's already beating out half the American male population.

My understanding is that, for MGTOW, they believe that the juice isn't worth the squeeze. To alter your metaphor a bit, it's probably more like choosing not to play professional football because they feel that the chance of injury is too likely and too devastating to make it a worthy risk. I think MGTOW overestimate the dangers and suffer a huge opportunity cost by not participating, but it is what it is.

There's a tenet in TRP about women's dual mating strategy called "Alpha fucks / Beta bucks." It means that women look for different criteria for their short term and long term relationships. For a short term, one night stand situation, women will generally go for men who display Alpha qualities: outcome independence, tallness, muscles, dominant personality, status, and other masculine features. If a woman just wants to indulge her impulse to fuck, she'll be drawn to an Alpha. For a long term rel…

You might be referring to the "Marshmallow Experiment", where children were told if they didn't eat a marshmallow, the experimenter would return with a second one, and then left the child on its own. Those who were able to delay gratification by not eating the marshmallow had a big correlation for later life success, higher income, etc. Important redpill lesson to think on. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stanford_marshmallow_experiment

Great posts by you and OP. I just want to point out that by 2012/2013, the older generation of PUA (Roosh, RSD, etc.) were in full swing. Arguably, at their peak. It was about this time that the Red Pill subreddit was founded (a Roosh AMA was one of the earliest posts), and the "daygame prank videos" by people like VitalyD started getting popular--like the "put your number in my phone" YouTube video that went viral. I'd argue that is the beginning of the "mainstreaming" of direct daygame in the …

The effort-per-bang ratio in an LTR is extremely low. You can't beat the efficiency of LTR sex (if you're actually in a redpill relationship). There's no reason to spend more money than a single guy at all, unless you're super blue pill and she's betabuxing you hard. Maybe if you are clearly a top-10% male with tight game you can get regular, convenient sex multiple times a week with a new girl. But you'll always have to be "on", spending $20+ on dates or nights out hunting, dealing with LMR, et…

Two things could be improved: Your post dance conversation sounds a little odd. I would have used something more natural than the early-2000s PUA sounding questions. "But you have a single room" may have been a bit too obvious/blunt and triggered her anti-slut defenses. Have a dumb but plausible reason to go back to her place, maybe even just offering to escort them home... then spring "can I use your bathroom?" to transition inside.

More likely, yes. But this type of thing is like poker: you can play your hand "correctly", but still lose the round because of variables outside your knowledge or control. Maybe she was on her period, or is dating a guy and was starting to feel guilty. Up to that point, according to OP's story, she seemed receptive though.

There was a good post a while back that likened AWALT to the gun safety rule: assume all guns are loaded, no matter what. In an individual instance, you likely aren't in danger. But in the small probability that things do go wrong, the consequences are so dire that you should never expose yourself to that risk in the first place.

At the same time, beware the Hedonism Treadmill, where your happiness (based on material goods) will slowly adjust to equilibrium, and you will always need more to feel that "high" again. You sound smart, so I assume you are putting money away for an emergency fund, investments, and retirement too. Feeling free and secure because you've built a nest egg for yourself--that's a good feeling to chase.

Do you run the other way and assume she's insane and a massive whore, or take it for what it is and take her on a real date and assume she could be a fun girl that might give it up quick? Your approach is probably off. Is she insane and a whore? You'd be the best person here to answer that. You have to next this girl. There's an old salesman's adage, "You can't make a sale if you're afraid of a no." The reason we advise using escalation and being (mostly) direct is to filter out the girls that are not interested. Remember, a bedrock RP principle is "I am the prize." If the girl gives you some version of a "no" or gives you trouble, she just lost the opportunity to be with you and you move on to the next girl. Really internalize this mentality, and you'll eventually realize that spe…

You sound like you are starting from square one. Learn your fundamentals. Start reading Roosh's blog and Chateau Heartiste from 2008-2010 era, when they used to go into a lot more specifics. You're going to have to approach alot before you get good at approaching, date a lot before you get good at dating, have a few LTRs before you get good at maintaining an LTR. Invest the time in grinding it out.

Counterpoint: she does say that she does her best at makeup and clothing, but if she is truly "ugly," then there's only so much she can do as a girl, SMV-wise. As a guy, we are judged stringently but based on a wide array of variables that we have control over--how successful, charismatic, well-dressed, clever, confident, and pre-selected we seem. Men don't face as much of a hard cap that women do.

/r/TheRedPill30/09/14 03:52 PM

But in capitalism, organizations that get too big but don't maintain efficiency will be toppled by smaller and more nimble competitors. The government will never face this "life cycle", and has no incentive to maintain efficiency.

Don't know why you got downvoted. A CLM requires the couple to hold themselves out to the world as if they are married--e.g., calling the woman "your wife", having a commitment ring, etc. The only thing missing is an official, legal marriage ceremony at the beginning.

On the flipside, the clock is ticking for every young woman until they age and lose their beauty, no matter what they do. Life isn't fair. Eventually, all of us will have to reach the acceptance stage of that fact, and the best we can do is figure out how to get along according to its twisted rules--and, possibly, succeed in spite of them.

I second the advice that you will need a connection to hook you up. If your family doesn't have useful connections, definitely befriend a professor use his status as a leg up on your leads. Pick his brain and ask him to put in a good word for you wherever he has sway. Half of the value of college is book-learning. The other half is the golden networking opportunity. So many people miss out on that.

People aren't saying it's impossible to do well as a short man. It's just the general trend that makes it much more difficult the shorter you are. Your example is an anamoly that doesn't disprove the rule. Women have a habit of expanding the argument in search of more fuel for her angry fire. e.g., wife yells at you for forgetting to do the dishes. You try to get the last word in, she responds with "you're always forgetting things, like the hints I dropped abiut our anniversary gift!" How do you next your wife? The best RP advice would have been to practice dread game while building up his admittedly-dismal SMV.

Heartiste had some good posts on that, how you can't and shouldn't be 100% stone cold alpha all the time. You have to show a little vulnerability now and again. It will be the glimmer of hope that will tell her that you are very much still alpha, but she's in the everlasting process of making you "hers." She'll feel just safe enough to emotionally invest, and that's what's important for keeping strong attraction.

I dunno, I've been seeing some questionable comments appearing more and more frequently lately. We shouldn't be afraid to hold everyone to a high standard and downvote suspicious/stupid posts.

I don't believe in the former fatty with low confidence. Actually losing weight and starting to admire your body gives you a huge confidence boost. Maybe for the most rational and objectively self-aware people. A lifestyle change, like going from fat to fit, has to be ignited by a strong dissatisfaction. The feelings of inadequacy that drive people to make these changes are powerful and don't go away that easily. Once they become "fitness aware," they will constantly compare themselves to girls …

I'm pretty sure the ending, while Red Pill-accurate, was too much for audiences to handle and kept it from having a spot in the "classic" pantheon of 80's movies. Otherwise, it was doing hilarious Judd Apatow-style comedy years ahead of its time.

I was just thinking this the other day. When it comes down to it, the debate over the science is basically irrelevant to me. RP principles work for me, applied to my life, and that's really all that matters. Opponents can trash it all they want, at the end of the day I'm enjoying my sex life with the girls I choose to be with.

So their advice is to do things that they think they want, and then some beta kid comes by, DOES THE EXACT THINGS SHE SAYS SHE WANTS, gets rejected, and doesn't understand it. Yep. Hence why the joke "Step 1. Be attractive Step 2. Don't be unattractive" rings true in a deep way.

I remember reading a post by Tuthmosis from RooshV/RoK where he basically says "to the typical female mind, romance and seduction 'just happen.'" Because the man is the instigator/pursuer, women are just used to having opportunities present themselves on a platter when it comes to dating and sex. A girl is at a bar I "just happen" to be at. (I'm there because I've spent dozens of nights out figuring out the best nightlife spots) I "just happen" to walk up to her and open an amusing conversation.…

I think broadly Roger is RP, but he's not as good a role model as Don. Roger has perfect "amused mastery" behavior and clearly does not give a fuck. But, he basically rides off his wealthy status to prop up his alpha frame--many times, he papers over his mistakes or socially bludgeons people with money. (Bribing people in the office, buying gifts for women) Take away the wealth, he's just a handsome prankster. Still fairly RP, but he wouldn't get as far as Don. Also consider he is pretty beta (a…

The reason I love the show is that it operates in a Red Pill reality--to the point where I'm afraid to suggest watching it to the girls I date, lest they catch on where I draw some of my inspiration. Don Draper is an alpha, Red Pill inspiration. For the first 5 seasons, he is cocksure and knows what he wants, and goes after it. He maintains frame no matter what--be it his wife accusing him of cheating, his co-workers sniping at him, or a client going sour on a pitch: Don Draper is a master of fr…

Finding girls post-college is a test of your creativity. Try the things girls typically do: yoga, wine tastings, etc. Just brainstorm where girls could possibly be, and work backwards to see which venues will work for you. I would also suggest growing your network of friends to work a little social circle magic. Are there any girls you were somewhat friends with in college who live in your area? Try to reconnect with her platonically. Invite her with your friends to a group outing. Then, she'll …
