Dear Dixie, Things seem tough right now, but don't they always? It's okay, you've got this. You've been doing a great job of practicing more - keep it up! Let's increase the practice time another hour and knock off an hour of internet time. If you do this, you can take a day trip to the shop with the cheap sheet music in Quincy. You resolved to do more biking this year, so do it. Don't complain when you fall down - and drink more water before and during rides so you're more alert, you'll fall le…

I am grateful for this beautiful weather we are having! I'm absolutely thrilled to be back in leggings, cardigans, and boots. I just want to lie on a blanket on the lawn in the sun and soak it up. I am grateful for the amazing doctors my best friend is seeing. She got some bloodwork results back yesterday that uncovered some more info that sort of puts things together more, and she's seeing her specialists today. Also thankful that she got an emergency medicaid approval, as she was looking for w…

Unfuck Your Habitat is great - I once knew a girl with some borderline hoarder tendencies that she learned from her mother, UYH got her onto a much more harmonious path. I only enjoy cleaning when I'm alone and don't have a ton of other stuff weighing on me, which is like ...never! (But when it does happen, I LOVE it.) It's nice to have ways to make it more enjoyable.

I agree, with one caveat. I have always been told you're only as good as the company you keep - I think it's absolutely appropriate for a man to judge a woman by the company she keeps, especially if her friends are of an unsavory flavor.

Play stupid games, win stupid prizes. It's a line my SO uses a lot, but I find it is extremely applicable to many areas of life. If you do or say something stupid, don't be surprised when you don't like what happens.

Is it perhaps a generation of men raised by single mothers that has lead us to the current extremes that I feel we see more of than ever before?

My fiance is the same way - it's better to not push the issue, then he feels like he's being pressured and that's a surefire way to stress him out more, which is the exact opposite of what I'm trying to accomplish, lol.

I personally dress modestly because of personal preference, there's no religious aspect to it for me. I tend to associate immodest apparel with slut culture, so my natural response is to do exactly the opposite. I do agree with all of your points though - thanks for clarifying. :)

I've sort of noticed that sons of mothers like this either grow up to be extremely disrespectful of women and disrespect their mothers in the same way, or they are extremely effeminate and have absolutely no spine. Such a disservice to raise boys like this...

Hollywood is under so much pressure from SJWs to demonize white men - it's ridiculous. The fact that Iron Man is now going to be a black girl makes me think we're about to head into a very, very dark time in film history.

I actually thought his Snow White was the most masculine - I think it was the jaw line and eyebrow ridge that kind of made me think that.

I think Ariel's facial expressions are my favorite - very flirty and cute. My favorite thing about this whole album is that it really demonstrates that anyone can drastically improve their appearance just by getting creative with some makeup. There's no excuse if you don't even try.

I've often said one of the only reason women become feminists is just anger that no man wants them, so they have to find a plethora of other excuses to make themselves feel better. But apparently I'm a misogynist for thinking this, or so I've been told.

“I know no single woman in NYC who would ever do a man’s chores,” Kinrys says. “It feels like the 1960s. If it were the 1960s, she'd probably be sitting around wondering why the hell no one would marry her. This is actually rather infuriating on several levels - how can any person just think it's okay to take advantage of another's kindness like this?

It's been 9 months since he quit working and he's showing no signs of acting like an adult and getting himself back on track. I'm not meaning to be harsh here, I'm really not. But he's acting like a guy who keeps refusing to speak to his mother unless she gives him more chicken tendies. Avoiding all of his responsibilities to live a life of leisure is not adult behavior.

I don't think it's your refusal to quit a job that's causing the problem, it's his refusal to get off his ass and get one. First, 100 hours is too much. For anyone, man or woman. That's almost twice as much as what I work, and I only work that much because we don't have children yet at which time, I won't work anymore. You can't be a good mother OR a good wife working that many hours. You just can't, not even something you can argue about. Second, I've been there as far as a partner losing his j…

"Who cares how men feel or what they do or whether they suffer? They have had over 2000 years to dominate and made a complete hash of it. Now it is our turn. My only comment to men is, if you don't like it, bad luck - and if you get in my way I'll run you down." Oh good, let's make threats of violence. Because that's a fantastic way to show that you're sane and capable of running things.

This is a GREAT post, and one I need right now as we're recently engaged but still trying to nail down what comes next. So, 4th of July is probably one of the most important days in our home. We're very patriotic, to put it simply. We're starting our festivities today by grilling some stuffed burgers he prepared last night (grilling and all grilling-related activities are one of his many talents) and having a few drinks at home. Then, we're going to go to a bowling event in the evening. Tomorrow, we will likely ride bikes from bar to bar and then go to a baseball game in the evening, with fireworks afterwards. Th…

CONGRATULATIONS ON YOUR FIRST INDEPENDENCE DAY! This is probably one of my favorite days of the year - we are extremely patriotic in our home. I think your outfit sounds great, personally. Very festive! I would probably leave the Uncle Sam hat out though. If you want to really go all out on your nails, I would paint all but your ring fingers red with white stripes, and paint your ring fingers blue with white stars (or maybe just one big white star, although that might make people think of Texas …

I'm going to keep this really short. They are not even engaged yet and you are literally already thinking about every possible negative that may happen. You realize this is crazy, right? Sit down, calm down, and get a grip. It's not even your wedding, don't ruin someone else's day that hasn't even been set on a calendar yet.

I was temporarily a stay at home partner, it was planned and lasted just under three months. For simplicity's sake, I'll address your concerns in bullet points: Boredom: A quote I have always heard in regard to this is "Only boring people get bored." I don't know how much I agree with that, but it's a good motivator for self-improvement. I'm an introvert and I was in a new place where I knew no one, so social activities were not an option but I read a lot and put more work into the house and pla…

I'm working on getting mine that long again! Mine is currently mid shoulder blades. Braids are the best - there are so many different ways to do them. My hair has thinned with age, and I have found that braids add a lot of volume and dimension to buns. Also, French twists with braids added in are a really quick, easy way to get your hair up. I am also a big fan of chignons. I know I was talking about it the other day in regard to style, but if you look up Apostolic Fashions on Pinterest, there a…

You know, the only time that anyone has ever insulted my man in front of me, he laughed it off until he got fed up and then laid into the person - I never realized I've always let him handle it until just now. My family loves him - I visited my grandpa in the nursing home last weekend, and my grandpa only asked questions about my fiance because he wasn't there! I think they love him more than me, lol

The truth is the only way to fail at being feminine is not to show up for it. Exactly! Really, you can look feminine even when you don't have a whole lot of money. I have a file room clerk who always compliments my wardrobe and says she wishes she looked like me - I tried to give her helpful encouragement, but it just lead to her doing things like wearing strange-looking skirts over sweatpants. Anyway... Modesty is a big thing for me. I don't like to show off the goods, and I prefer not to wear …

Sunhappy and Tempest have some really great answers. I want to add two more subs to the list though - /r/couponing and /r/coupons. We have stretched single incomes before - B suddenly and unexpectedly lost his job last year and his unemployment was not much. We live an extremely affordable life (our mortgage is literally 10.5% of our take-home pay, we are cord-cutters, etc.) but we set aside a large portion of our take-home pay to save for our next home. Couponing is silly, but it seriously will…

I started taking Ortho Tri-Cyclen in college to combat my acne - it worked for the acne, but it gave me wicked mood swings. I stopped it for a few years because I was not sexually active, and then started again - same mood swings. After that, I tried the patch (can't recall what the name is) and noticed that I was becoming extremely bloated. Stopped it and the bloating went away. Tried Yaz, I became an entirely different person - the mood swings were way worse and it made my periods way worse. S…

As a musician myself, I listen to a ton of different kinds of music (lots of Lana Del Rey as Sunhappy mentioned) but I also listen to a lot of country. Any more, country is getting to be just as trashy as the rest of it - Luke Bryan has this really trashy song about meeting a girl in a bar and texting selfies to their exes about how they're hooking up later. It's gross. But older country tends to have a really good message. Not older, but a song I really love is Love Song by Miranda Lambert. It'…

I think Lana's one of the best non-feminist artists out there right now - I have posted this probably 90 times, but Video Games is one of my favorite songs in general and is also very feminine.

Great post. I think the thing to keep in mind here is gratitude - you do things for the man you love because you are grateful for him. Keeping score means you're doing it to get something out of him, not because you are grateful and want to show that.

It’s almost like a tacit acknowledgement that (God forbid!) she agrees her hair is great, that she has a beautiful smile or a fantastic ass. When a woman says “thank you,” the complimenter hears “yeah, I know.” Regina George? I think she's off to a good start here, but she seems like she still embraces feminism - this article seems like she's really bitter about the way her life has gone thanks to feminism. However, that's a GREAT example for younger women to show them just what the future holds…

Ouch. This hurt to read, but I am glad I did. I am most definitely still holding onto my dolled-up shrew ways. In a previous relationship with a Shakespearean actor, I was called Katharina and it hurt worse than any hand across the face could. I don't think I've quite tamed that shrew yet ...that harlot keeps poking her head around the corner every now and then. Thank you for the tremendous insight - I've never actually read your blog, but it's fantastic from the little bit I've read!

I'm also in the list-making boat - every time I start to feel things getting dusty or cluttered, I sit down at my desk and make list after list. I plan the grocery list a week in advance, compile a meal plan that fits our macros (mine and his), prioritize chores, and then I literally de-clutter. I've found a nice Goodwill roundup helps kick my organizational skills into gear.

I love baseball proposals actually - I secretly have daydreams about getting engaged at a game because we were brought together by a baseball rivalry. That's kind of our thing, we go out of town every year for a rivalry game, alternating "home turf" advantage. That said, I think these girls who have all these conditions for getting engaged are losing sight of the entire point of it. I once knew a girl who absolutely refused to be proposed to unless she had this EXACT ring that she had designed f…

I basically just wanted to see what everyone's thoughts were on it. I've always considered the Catholic church and RP values to be pretty in-sync, and this is a big departure from that. Knowing that there are more than a few Catholic posters here, I wondered if anyone had a different perspective on it.
/r/RedPillWives09/04/16 08:38 PM

You know, I actually like this Pope - I was raised Catholic and kind of fell away from the Church, but I feel like he has been incredibly welcoming and has warmed up the atmosphere a bit. That said, I don't like this work and I think that it goes against what the Church teaches as far as marriage goes. I feel like RP and the Church have a lot of principles in line as far as marriage goes, and this is ...weird.

I definitely agree; my SO is a perfect example of this, and I have on several occasions in the past pushed him because I thought he was feeling something he was not sharing. It never ended with anything but me regretting pushing him, because he is not a man to be pushed, and he's honest - when he says "nothing," he means "nothing." He is truly one of those invincible men who works out his feelings in his head rather than dragging them out for show. He, more than anything I could read, has done t…

We are both extremely casual around the house, but I do try to look cute for him even in the evenings. I usually put on yoga pants, a tank top, and a cardigan (if I'm coming home from the gym after work, this is what I'm wearing anyway) and I will keep my makeup on and put my hair up in a low ponytail. I don't take my makeup or bra off until right before bed. We do a lot of projects and things in the evening so changing once I get home is fairly necessary, especially this time of year as I'm bri…

I left mine in a strainer with hot water running over them for probably 10-15 minutes, I just could not get over it. I think maybe a stir-fry might be a better use for them - I also bought the ziti kind, I think maybe the angel hair kind would have been a little more manageable.

Thank you - I think that would help, it's more of a matter of figuring things out before they get to this stage though. I want to get him what he wants, but I am bad at interpreting the signs. I instinctively knew he wanted a Shop Vac, but I somehow thought it was better suited as a gift from someone else!? It's weird.

I did tell him this. He seemed a bit confused at first because he made such a strong effort to make the Shop Vac known (my bad) but I think he realizes. Hopefully, things stabilize this weekend - hoping the Rose Bowl is a chance to show I know what he's hoping for and give him that (BUT here's hoping for a Hawks win, I don't think I could make him happier than that!)
