She said MARRIAGE is a part of patriarchial norms...not companionship. Marriage is literally based off of men owning women. You can still seek out companionship without wanting to be a part of the traditionally oppressive construct that is marriage.

I think it’s a little of both; in that there are very few decent men left, and a whole LOOOOT of horrible men to “choose” from....The pickins are slim. So a lot of women just take what they can get and then complain. But no one is forcing her to give that man the time of day. So she’s CHOOSING to be with a tryflin man. In other words, there are very few QUALITY men (in comparison to quality women) out there, but that doesn’t mean we have to pick them. If you start a vehicle and notice it doesn’t…

I just got out of my first relationship (I’m 32-years old) and honestly I never had to deal with any of this, lol. Sounds miserable!

I dont even like that, tbh. Ain’t no “I THINK you’re mistaken. He’s just straight up MISTAKEN. To be firm and assertive is to do away with terms like, “I think” and “that was still sweet of you” because neither of them are true and it shows that you’re not clear or confident in what you’re saying.

The OP made it seem like she knows what this guy is capable of and continues to hand out with him. Why “hang out” with someone that makes you feel uncomfortable? And if it’s like that for all men, stop hanging out with men. It’s not victim-blaming..it’s self-love. When you love yourself, you don’t waste your beautiful finite energy with people who you don’t get anything out of or people who make you feel uncomfortable. Who has time to be ducking and dodging folks or feeling anything but FREE at …

My only question is, Why would you even hang out with someone like this? I hate that men in general have become such BEASTS that she feels that uncomfortable in their presence. If it were me, I’d refuse to be “hanging out” with any of them.

Bwahaha! This is so true. I’ve always hated this saying cuz it’s like , “So you’ve been treating your wife/girlfriend like crap all this time?” I’d feel so disrespected if this were my husband.

He posts me all the time and always has me on his profile photo. I, on the other hand, never post him and he’s complained a bit before. I do feel sort of awful about this because I know it means something to him (to be posted about,) but I just don’t feel like getting married right now. And I think when/if I post someone online, I’d like to be married or at least engaged with a date set first. 🤷🏽‍♀️

I can’t answer the first part but I just wanna to to say that those Tik Tok videos have to be fake. They react like they’ve never seen her naked before. As far as The sex thing, I honestly think that if you make it about your satisfaction, everything else will literally fall in place. He will recognize that you’re fulfilling your own needs. But if you’re Having sex just because, and it doesn’t feel special to you, I would guess that could come across in the vibe. Obviously if he is not continuin…

It’s to the point where when you see a man who looks groomed, you automatically wondering if he’s gay. Because those are the only ones who take care of themselves nowadays.

I will never forget the day. My next-door neighbor and her so-called husband had a baby boy just several months after their first son. There was a huge shower ( and probably 100 gifts) for the first baby, and a few months later, when she had the second one, This time, there was no baby shower and I guess she didn’t get much attention/gifts this time around so she posted on Facebook: “Good thing my husband is going to take care of our second baby. Because nobody got him anything. Thank God for my…

I feel the same. And I also felt like he was always romanticizing marriage as this happily ever after fairy tale when it’s not 100% likethat...it’s hard work. He grew up in a single-parent household and just saw married couples from afar, so he was always fascinated with his friends lives who had both parents and to this day, he tells the stories of going over their house and watching them interact just like the small kid he once was. He doesn’t seem to acknowledge the REAL / GRITTY side of livi…

It’s been said here, but I just want to reiterate that this is still a man that even the highest value woman would want to steer clear of. I always want to know exactly how a man has treated the women in his past because if a person has that little respect for another human being and refuses to afford her any dignity, it says a lot about himself. Let’s say you are the dream woman that he has been so-called saving his high-value self for all his life, he pulls out all the stops for you, and you e…

I guess I’m the only one gets gay vibes when a man is obsessed with “hittin it from the back.” That’s really the only way two gay men can have intercourse, and it literally ignores a woman’s vagina. I’d feel weirded out by a man who insists or is too excited about it.

I am a 31 year old virgin as well, and though I see nothing wrong with it, to tell the whole world serves absolutely no purpose at all. It’s just not anyone’s business except your doctor and the person you’re vetting for marriage. Sorry, Lolo Jones is crazy and that has nothing to do with her virginity. She seems to just use it for attention, as if she’s not talented or something.
