This answer holy shit is it on point only good thing about some of them is they can fix your leaky sink. In my experience they don't let you call a plumber because that would be a waste of money but then they sit around not fixing anything so six months later when you've had an argument about it because he overheard you calling a plumber, he huffs into the kitchen and half-asses fixing it and simultaneously you're a b*** for telling him to do it (I was gonna do it in ten minutes!) and not being …

"Simple -- just do whatever makes me happy" This one though. Women are gaslighted to compromise and undermine their own desires, while those 'I'm just a simple men' believe should be catered to.

Why do men try to confess after a woman is engaged? My friend got three 'I've been in luv wit u for years' confessions within 24 hrs of her announcing her engagement. When I announced I was happy in a new relationship, the ex who broke up with me, who had been LOUD about how he was playing the field, came out of nowhere crying about I was the one who got away. Literally crying.

In reality - he's a 40 year old sensitive manchild, perfectly capable of having all the success in the world, but just not willing to put any effort into anything. Read this again. Do you want him even though you don't see a future with him or are you scared of being single?

I've said it before and I'll say it again, they love comparing us to incels and redpills, but when incels get mad, they commit acts of violence, meanwhile the extent of our anger is...not dating them.

Being able to get her targets to underestimate her because of her sexiness was the purpose. While I'm not a fan of the whole 'covering her up makes it more feminist' argument, I understand Faye's original outfit wasn't practical for a live action. I'm recalling Jill Valentine for Resident Evil 2 film and some things don't translate well to live action. Like it looks ridiculous to be in a zombie apocalypse dressed in short shorts and a tube top.

+1 when I skimmed posts criticizing the mods a lot of it was just users thinking FDS should change its focus for other subs that were kicked off by reddit. And well, frankly this isn't a humanitarian crisis and FDS doesn't have to offer refuge to them. This is a dating sub, not a democracy. And I agree with the mods putting their foot down and keeping it that way.

+1. I can see why the mods wouldn't have infinite patience for meta posts from people who don't contribute much to the sub. If OP posted weekly discussion strategies or stories, there would be some credibility for them to come forward and try to discuss sub changes.

I think the whole This sub is becoming low effort trajectory is inevitable for every subreddit. Memes get many upvotes because it takes a second to see a picture, chuckle, and hit upvote.

My experience with HVM conflicts with this post and personally I can't agree. The HVM I've met were raised by single mothers, and often had older sisters. Their mothers left the toxic bf or husband in their lives, putting the safety of their children and themselves first and those HVM, when we got to their upbringing said how wonderful and brave their mothers were.

Lessoned learned. If he wants to, he will. Some friends encouraged me to make a move because he could be shy or may not know you're interested. Society hates fat people and liking a fat person to them means you're low value.

I understand that it's better we didn't date if he felt he couldn't date because of his size. This post has been illuminating because while I don't normally respond to comments posted on satellite subs, the redpillers think I was 'taking a charity case' rahter than genuinely liking someone. You can't win. You're either a shallow b***ch for not wanting to date a fat person but then if you like a fat person, you must have a savior complex, wishing to be worshipped.

It could very well be what you were saying about internalized self-hatred and I'm not unsympathetic. Do you think what he said was true, that "he really hates being fat and doesn't want to date anyone who liked him while he was fat," or... What do you think he was actually saying? "I don't like you so I'm letting you down easy?" "You can't handle all this jelly?" "I am negging you because you are not good enough for me?" I assumed it was negging. HOWEVER I'm yet to form a single friendship with a male in adulthood which has been platonic like this. They have always tried to make things romantic or sexual at some point. 100% my experience too.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy13/05/21 12:39 AM

I relate to a lot of this. I have very platonic male friends I have known since primary school and those who are married to my best friends. That said, I have yet to make a real male friend, who wasn't gay, as an adult. We may be friends in the context of a hobby or job, but otherwise, they often don't even want to be friends unless they see me as a romantic prospect.

Sorta related to online, and I've said this before but growing up in Muslim spaces, it wasn't uncommon at parties for genders to spend parts of the evening separated. The older I get the more I appreciate women-only spaces. When I attended an Arab-Turk wedding, half the night the genders were split in separate ballrooms. It was so much fun to laugh, dance, party with just women.

Personally, OP, I'm not one of those people who thinks it's 0.0001% chance of finding a non-cheater who has to travel a lot. In the handbook, and FDS says we have to believe there are many HVM out there. Vetting makes us vigilant but scarcity mindset makes us paranoid. In my industry, travel is normal, especially if you want to be promoted and earn the big bucks. But I'm also not someone who needs her partner home with her 8 days a week. Wishing you luck.

Blame isn't a pie to cut into neat percentages. The cheating man is responsible, and if he wants to cheat, he will, but if you're a knowing party in this, you have no clean hands.

That bugged me too. Pickmes will read this and think it's not the right time, but there will BE a right time :) This is the most poignant of the whole piece, imo We're in Like, Not in Love It's harsh but true. In fact, it's probably the most common reason we bolt. Just because a guy likes you a lot isn't a guarantee that it will evolve into love. men seek out large height differences to feel like a “big man” on the inside. I think this is honestly across the board. Sometimes the character's looks has to do with the actual story and that's when Adaptation Attractiveness can be a problem. If a story involving a plain Jane who can't get her crush to notice her and everyone at school teases her is played by Taylor Swift I roll my eyes.

Tbh, this is why I chafe at feel-good advice like "Why do girls have to be ~*pretty*~ we need to raise them to be ~*smart*~. Not because I disagree, but because women don't fret about their looks because they are vain, but because the price for not paying attention is too high. We've all heard of the Halo-Effect. We all know intelligent girls who don't get what they deserve because they are invisible and they're invisible because they're not considered pretty or thin enough, take your pick. I li…

Why are you bringing lesbians into this? Because you did. Literally no one was talking about homosexuals until you made your comment about equating oppression. How you experience sexual attraction isn’t remotely close to race or sexual orientation. It's all misogyny and we don't need words pertaining to different experiences when the real fight is against *all* misogyny /s It is clear we have a very different understanding of what demisexual means, but ultimately I understand and agree with your…

The best indication I've seen is when they are in a rush. They want to profess love too fast, marry right now right now, then we can move right now right now. You can see how they veer the conversation when you mentioned you lived overseas. Do they ask where and what was your home town like? or do they ask too fast if you still have dual citizenship?
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy22/11/20 06:16 PM

I really chafe at this "it's just all misogyny, we have an encompassing word for it so why bother with more words?" Then let's throw away words like misogynoir, we have words already, misogyny and racism, why divide misogyny when it's all misogyny at the end of the day? Lesbians and asexuals can be victims of corrective rape and to rid the 'curative' trauma would do them a GREAT disservice.

We’re pretending there’s new sexualities Your reading of OP's post sorta made my point. OP didn't say asexual or demisexual are new pretend sexualities, but rather suggests many who come out as such may not be, but are attempting to opt-out of sexual misogyny. I believe this is the case for many, but the mistake I think would be to take away that asexual and demi are made up pretend. A lot of people, quite progressive, hate demisexual because it has been mischaracterised all over the internet. S…

I certainly believe this is possible for some who identify as asexual or demi, but I'm not about to call anyone liars if they identify as such. I know an asexual woman who is tired of being accused of lying about her utter lack of sexual desire. People either try to diagnose her with depression, suggest she has been sexually abused in the past (she hasn't) and that's why she's repulsed by sex, or that she's gay (her lack desire also extends to women so...)

It's all bad hot takes that disney princesses are bad role models but they misremember the stories and forget that Ariel giving up her voice was framed by the movie as scary and villainy. Ursula licking her lips, her eyes yellowing with those monster claws taking Ariel's voice scared me as a kid lol. I understand it's all new to them and I've been cautious about expressing my concerns. As the friend it hurts to see them do the same things that made them available to passive men in the first place, but I don't want to be discouraging by being too blunt. One friend is VERY excited about one guy, making mental plans with him, but from what she tells me, he's not serious at all :/ I hope for their sake they're right and I'm wrong.

I consider them friends, but we'd never hang out alone. LOL so your problem is that you think any female character who is not a passive actor is automatically “a man”? That's not what I said. My words: A lot of 'strong female characters' are the male tough guy archetype morphed into a girl; they can kick everyone's ass and look good doing it. You can't deny a lot of female characters in media are exactly what i'm talking about. Moana, and Anna are archetype characters (they are well written) not too dissimilar from older characters but I won't get in…

Where are you getting this? Not sure where you live, but where I live I see a pushback against Disney films and ones like it because they are said to present 'bad role models for girls' versus sword-wielding girl characters. A lot of 'strong female characters' are the male tough guy archetype morphed into a girl; they can kick everyone's ass and look good doing it. no backbone until 3rd movie I haven't seen the sequels, but hard disagree. In the first film, you see Cinderella try to speak up for…

Mods, just occurred to me that this may not belong here, but I thought it warrants a discussion that stereotypically feminine characters are deemed sexist by our culture and girls are told to favor badass characters who wield more masculine traits. I think as a culture we've been unfair to Cinderella, simplifying her as some passive character who waited to be rescued by a prince, which is not the story at all.

I can't stand edgy takes about Disney movies lol Mulan realized that feminity was viewed by the Huns as a weakness, so used that as her strength. She and the others infiltrated the imperial palace using their femininity and took on the Hun leader with a paper fan. Imho 'Disney princesses are bad role models' is shallow pop-feminism hot takes and bad faith criticism.

My first comment was really dismissive and I apologize. I know people who have tried dermatologists but their skin still has issues and people in similar circumstances shouldn't be judged for it. Going back I would instead say I have met men who clearly had skin conditions that required medical treatment ("Wow that fungus I got at a gym isn't going away") but they put off visiting a skin doctor because they lacked the self preservation to pick up the phone and make an appointment.

I'm sorry you have had poor experiences with dermatologists but visiting the derm is still an excellent option for most people who don't know about their skin and have given up on OTC products. I've had bad experiences with the dentist, doesn't mean it's a bad idea for people to visit their dentist for check ups.

I'll take your word for it then. But I've seen it as a meme before. Girls with one blemish berating themselves for their "horrible skin" but scruffy bf, whose nose looks like a strawberry from all those blackheads, has "perfect skin".
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy07/04/20 10:26 PM

Nah. If he is an adult, he can visit a dermatologist and they can recommend something. People shouldn't be judged but skin care doesn't have to be intimidating.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy07/04/20 09:03 PM
20

Heavy doubt on the "my bf has perfect skin." More like we have higher standards for women's skin. If he is using the same bar soap for his face (if bar soap he is probably 20 years old and if you have good skin at 20, it's because you're 20 lol) he won't have perfect skin for long.

Honestly, would it kill them to hit up a skin/makeup counter once in a while? Exfoliate, moisturize, BB cream, women like looking at soft, pretty skin too! Even knowing how to do their eyebrows, shape, trim and fill them in would do WONDERS for framing their face. Takes some practice but women don't learn overnight but through much trial and error.

I didn't think so either, I've made the mistake of dating an avoidant (never again) but I wanted to put out there even IF he was an HVM, the relationship should feel good. (This an April Fool's post? Because it better be) Idk, you say you know he should make the first move but it seems you're trying to bypass that. The point of "let him make the first move" is that you're not doing all the effort. Tips like 'have lunch where he has lunch' is pickme logic. Trying to make a guy notice you (he has two working eyes, right?) is already too much effort. In 'trying to get him to notice' you'll probably let on that you like him and then you've lost because he learns HE is…

My theory, but women, more often than not, should not marry before 25. You're still so young at 22, 23 and what you want in life is going to change. I cringe at what I thought I wanted at 21. If I had married the guy I wanted then, I would be stuck or divorced. My friends nearing their thirties who married in their early twenties are divorcing one by one for various reasons, but a lot of it boils to maturity.

I can't read the future so while my wish is to say of course you'll find someone, I don't think that will help. But as someone who has been in your position, and believed the same thing, I implore you to not give up hope. What you feel right now sucks, zaps your energy but it will pass with time. You're more equipped now to find someone who reciprocates the enthusiasm you feel for them and the relationship.

A guy will chase you for sex. If you ever watched Catch a Predator, you'll notice they will drive HOURS for the chance to sleep with someone underage. Had a guy who was 50/50 about answering text messages, rarely would call or respond on fb. When he wanted to fuck tho, he would text, call, and fb message MULTIPLE times within an hour. Had a guy friend who FLEW to ANOTHER STATE, literally spent over $200 for a last minute trip because a girl teased him with sex. Men will travel and chase for sex.

Besides what the FDS handbook says, their preferences will be individual, but ultimately, it is when they see someone who makes them want to commit. You can't make them commit in the same way you can't make someone love you. It is something that comes from within them.

The sacrifices women must make to make the marriage and family work are enormous. This CANNOT be understated! I won't say I won't ever want to marry but marriage is often a very bad deal for women. This is what I would say to the friend. I've had a not too dissimilar situation. A guy friend of one year, whom I was pursuing, didn't tell me he had been seeing someone for two years. I made all kinds of excuses, I thought he liked me, maybe it's off and on, maybe it's not serious, maybe maybe maybe. /r/FemaleDatingStrategy27/01/20 11:33 PM

I find plenty of short men attractive but the one thing they all have in common is that they aren’t concerned by their height. Being short and insecure is the part that women find unappealing. I agree this is key. I've dated (and am willing to date) short men and it was sexy that they weren't concerned about their height.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy27/01/20 09:30 PM

Also ever notice when it's a shorter woman with a taller man the anger is always directed at the shorter woman for 'stealing a taller man' or for 'refusing to date shorter men', but never the man for 'stealing a shorter woman' from shorter men?
