I filed 7 years 11 months in. No lifetime alimony. Short term marriage. I spared myself financial hell.

Awesome. I have a persistent shoulder injury that prevents me from getting significant gains. I had a surgery for it in 2016. It’s my dominant shoulder so i can’t afford another surgery

Having a hard time with the extra effort for that great shape gains

That’s great to hear. I’m sure it will get better with time

Yes Im well aware. I have money and I’ve always done rather well. It’s just so different when you have two young kids. You are invisible to girls that would normally smile. Single dads are low on the pecking order I ain’t no fool
/r/Divorce_Men17/03/24 11:57 PM

Right on. I know it happens. I just struggle with it as I was basically hanging out with people my age and even older for the last decade. This is a big shift

When I say “married bitch” I’m referring to married ones that are looking to fuck around on their husbands
/r/Divorce_Men17/03/24 05:34 PM

You can pay her rent for the year for example.
/r/Divorce_Men17/03/24 04:49 PM

Mexico is a third world country. $5000 makes noise there. $5000 here is a 2 months rent 😅
/r/Divorce_Men17/03/24 04:47 PM

I know the game very well. I’ve studied it in my younger years and understand the concepts well. The issue in finding is finding women in their 30s that are DTF. They are either looking for a relationship or are married. Not looking to have a married bitch as a side piece. I feel weird hitting on 22 years olds as well. Where the fuck are the MILFS?
/r/Divorce_Men17/03/24 04:45 PM
2

Yeah I’ve been there. It’s funny. I go to Mexico from time to time. As an experiment I will ramp up the approaches. I need to see if the problem is me or if the problem is a general one.

Powerful post. Thanks for sharing. Crazy how the Traumas were unearthed and triggered when you got sick. Im about 7 months separated now. No dating. No apps. I do wake up with the occasional morning wood which is annoying but I’m maintaining my single hood. Trying to heal.

Thanks for this. I do all of that. What a great quote!
/r/Divorce_Men07/03/24 05:12 PM

I do all of the above. I have a nice clean place. I wear nice clothes. Work out, have a nice hair cut. I present happiness and strength to others. To my ex my text message record is near perfect. Inside I’m in lots of pain. This was a vent to my divorce brothers
/r/Divorce_Men07/03/24 05:12 PM

I went through something similar. Rebuild your life as you see fit. Do the things you want. Work out, eat well, get into therapy. Meet up groups. The next several months will be hell. You’ll get through it. God bless

Trust me I’ve done as much as I could. The stepdaughter was a major asset in her case. My son is very attached to her
/r/Divorce_Men06/03/24 11:43 PM

Yeah me too. I stayed with her in the home I pay for as long as I could. But it was time to leave. Her daughter played a huge part in me leaving. Imagine coming home and your kid is in her room. And there’s nothing I could do about it.
/r/Divorce_Men06/03/24 11:43 PM

People manipulate because they have problems of their own. Also because they are evil pieces of shit. I’ve studied parental alienation and sometimes the kids minds are warped forever. It’s like basically losing a kid. Some parents lose their kids to kidnappers, others to cancer. Others to falls and accidents. Others to hateful and vindictive ex spouses. It’s life and bad things happen to good people all the time. What lesson God has planned for me I don’t know. But what I can say is that I’m mis…

I do pray. One of the reasons I’m still here is my faith. But the world he created has broken me. It truly has. I hope my boys see the truth. Manipulation is very powerful.
/r/Divorce_Men06/03/24 10:09 PM
1

Unfortunately she probably has a personality disorder and doesn’t see or care about the damage. Because I hurt her feelings I’m Bad. If I’m bad for her I’m bad for the kids. All the evaluators and Court experts don’t give a flying fuck. We fathers have to wage war to get 50-50.
/r/Divorce_Men06/03/24 10:07 PM

Thanks. I don’t care about her. The sooner she gets dick the better. She’s still trying to get with me cuz I’m worth some money lol. She don’t care about me if she did I wouldn’t have left. I miss my boys man. I hate this. Some of us don’t recover from this loss.

I won’t have that fortune. She will fight me forever. She’s one of those. She lost access to the real wealth as i stand to inherit millions. She will do everything in her power to extract as many resources as possible

I filed 7 months ago. We are nowhere nearly done. It’s going to cost me 100k plus to get this thing finalized. I have zero interest in dating. My divorce traumatised the hell out of me

Good for you. Full blown freedom.

Thanks for the feedback. Your ex is making a huge mistake. Nevertheless it’s a daughter and they forgive their mothers of nearly everything they do. I’m positive you being the stable parent will be very good for your daughters happiness. Sorry for your troubles. Let’s all get through this mess
/r/Divorce_Men20/02/24 03:05 PM

Thanks for the reply. They aren’t just meeting either but also spending the night together. His codependency is pretty severe. It’s astounding to watch
/r/Divorce_Men20/02/24 01:29 AM

Yeah I get it we all have different parenting styles. This is a bit different. Both mom and dad are acting like selfish assholes which will in turn create little monsters. My boys are young enough to where I can protect them from trainwrecks like this. As it is, my 6 year old is struggling with my own divorce. He doesn’t need any more instability.
/r/Divorce_Men20/02/24 12:55 AM

Don’t sign!
/r/Divorce_Men19/02/24 08:57 PM

Correct. Sucks to see you getting downvoted but people don’t put their kids first. I’m terrified of introducing anyone to my boys. They’ve already been through hell with the divorce the last thing they need is step families to deal stub
/r/Divorce_Men19/02/24 08:50 PM
3

Lol I won’t give her anything now. I offered fake terms 50-50 she refused. Now it’s 8 months in total war. She’s going to walk away with nothing
/r/Divorce_Men16/02/24 07:04 AM

Absolutely ecstatic not having to worry about getting her ass a card, flowers or a gift or plan a dinner. For it not to be appreciated. FREEDOM!!
/r/Divorce_Men15/02/24 02:55 AM
3

Yeah sounds like cheater bullshit. Sorry man it’s over. 20 years is a long ass time. You will need some time to heal. I’ll tell you this I’m getting much happier being alone and not in relationships. I’m also finding I have so much more money now that I don’t have to impress lol. Take care of yourself. Get a therapist. Go to church. Work out. Mediate. Engage in your hobbies. Go camping, ski, draw. Travel. Do what YOU want to do. You are single now!
/r/Divorce_Men12/02/24 11:52 AM

Nice to hear. I had far better luck the last time I was single. Man was it easy then. I’ve been legally separated since July. I still live with her a few days a week so dating has been impossible. Plus I’ve been so traumatized with how badly this marriage ended my trust in woman is shattered. I really don’t trust them at all and I think that energy rubs off
/r/Divorce_Men12/02/24 11:41 AM
3

Ouch that sounds rough.
/r/Divorce_Men12/02/24 11:38 AM

Too bad to hear that. 5 years for custody
/r/Divorce_Men11/02/24 08:46 AM
1

Thank for reading. Things are hard no doubt and the divorce is stressful. Breaking the habit of “needing” someone is hard. But sometimes you need to bite down and deal with it. I got married to have a family. That’s the main reason. Otherwise I’d never legally do it
/r/Divorce_Men09/02/24 08:29 PM
5

Sure. There are many innate biological needs. Doesn’t meet we have to engage in those “needs” at all times. Sometimes it’s ok to be alone.

“Love of my life” I don’t believe in that shit. I know for some people it exists it will never exist for me. And neither do I care for it to exist. Relationships are transactional and people are in them to gain something. Whether it’s money, sex, comfort, validation, ego supply, attention, etc. What people confuse as love is merely dopamine and oxytocin chemical flooding their Brains. One of my distant uncles was paralyzed in a work accident. His wife stayed with him faithfully for 20 plus years…

I know the feeling about not caring so much about women anymore. I have met a few here and there since the divorce. But man, my marriage took so much out of me. I’m going to need a LONG time to heal from this wound. No women.

I hope so bro. I worry one day they will be turned against me. I worry a lot. They say whatever doesn’t kill you makes you stronger. Sometimes we just take to much damage and can’t recover. Take care and God Bless you on your journey
/r/Divorce_Men30/01/24 10:48 PM
1

Ok. Thanks for sharing. You sound like you will be ok. I’ve taken too much damage in my life to ever truly trust people again. I just dont feel things like that anymore. I was badly abused as a child and it really fucked me up. My romantic relationships have all been volatile and I cannot be in a healthy and stable relationship. I just want to love my boys and watch them grow into happy and healthy adults
/r/Divorce_Men30/01/24 10:35 PM
2

Can you identify some of the signs looking back? I suspect with many women since they are so emotional maybe there was a huge fight or issue that caused her to check out and lose feelings for You? Also, do you think you can ever trust a woman again? I have never fully trusted anyone dude. Not a woman, not even a friend. I trust them but I see people as flawed and not perfectly loyalty beings. Maybe it’s a curse or a gift I don’t know
/r/Divorce_Men30/01/24 10:24 PM
3

Brother sorry about your situation. I’d like to know: so you say to us that you were blindsided. I hear this is very common. It’s never happened to me ever. I scan for issues and sometimes maybe see things that aren’t there I don’t know. But we’re there really NO SIGNS at all? Zero?
/r/Divorce_Men30/01/24 10:10 PM

Lol writing a check is pretty tracked.
/r/Divorce_Men26/01/24 01:01 AM

I did it to buy myself peace and to be a decent human being and to help her transition during the divorce. But, it doesn’t look like it bought me much dividends.

I was thinking of cutting it to zero
/r/Divorce_Men25/01/24 06:27 PM

Lol
/r/Divorce_Men25/01/24 05:03 PM

I agree. Things aren’t so bad. The worst part is her daughter. With her in the mix I feel it’s 2-1 I have a big disadvantage there But I’ll get through it
/r/Divorce_Men25/01/24 04:11 PM

Yup. It’s time to do this. And I have the perfect pretext which is the theft and fraud.
/r/Divorce_Men25/01/24 03:55 PM

We’ve been ordered to a 730 custody evaluation. I alleged she’s a drunk and she of course alleged DV. So the judge is now going to wait on the evaluators recommendations. The fucking evaluation won’t be done until the late summer lol
/r/Divorce_Men25/01/24 03:14 PM
2

She filed for support but the hearing got pushed back to April lol. So I’ve been giving her some spending money while she gets a job. She was out of the workforce for 3 years. She’s interviewing for work. My case started pretty high conflict then mellowed a bit. But at the end of the day she won’t agree to anything reasonable so I have to rip off the bandaid and let things get ugly for a while. I’ll stop with the cash. I’m sure the judge will order something absurd in April anyways. Temporary su…

Divorce is hard and brings out the worst in people. So what your saying is common unfortunately. For me, I see most people as being inherent pieces of shit so I expect the worst out of them. Good people are not common. Even good people will struggle to act reasonable in a divorce. As for your wife, you have to adjust your expectations about her as she is coping with the loss herself. It makes it easier for her to be an evil bitch to you so she will be one. Don’t take it personal lol I know it so…
/r/Divorce_Men25/01/24 01:51 PM
2

Of course. But the fact that they got into my Wallet and stole my credit card information behind my back is just so dirty and low class. Zero trust. I refuse to speak to her now. Treat me good and I’ll be generous and kind. Rob me like this and you’ll have to deal with my nasty side
/r/Divorce_Men25/01/24 01:33 PM
3

My attorney was content with the incident number. He said it could be seen as petty for me to request prosecution over $500 when I have access to six figures in cash. I told my dumb STBXW if she needs help she can have it and I’ll have her back. Instead they nickel and dime me. So now she will get zero extra help.
/r/Divorce_Men25/01/24 12:18 PM

😂 crazy ass texting all day I can’t deal with that it would be over in a day
/r/Divorce_Men25/01/24 12:13 PM

Good question. Perhaps my attorney friends are all weak. But when all 3 in unison tell me to NOT PURSUE then I will listen.

I alternate between hating her and feeling bad for her depending on her conduct. I’ve reached the acceptance point where I know her life is going downhill without me in it. I really did help her level up at my expense. When you love someone you are willing to do that. But after all the lying and cheating and disrespect there’s no more benefitting from my world. If she was smart I’d take care of her post divorce. But by stealing from me it simply enrages me to where I want to do the bare minimum …
/r/Divorce_Men25/01/24 06:05 AM

Yup. It’s taking everything in me not to lose my shit. I’ve been treated so badly by her. But I have to fight for my kids. There’s no other way.

I already did. It doesn’t help that my ass is high conflict as well. I ready badly.

Isnt that the truth. Divorced at 41 with two young boys. I don’t see myself getting romantically involved with anyone for a LONG time. I need my boys to settle in this new life with their parents not being together. The last thing I need is a woman complicating things any further.

How terrible. BPD/NPD is a nightmare. They almost always account for the alienation. My ex is also BPD and she’s doing the same thing to my boys. How old are they? And, how have you coped with this loss?
/r/Divorce_Men01/01/24 01:56 PM

Do your 5 kids talk to you?

You basically lose your kids to the alienation
/r/Divorce_Men16/12/23 02:39 PM

Terrible. I can’t believe ADULT kids that age can be so easily brainwashed
/r/Divorce_Men16/12/23 02:39 PM

I would have gone on a Scorched earth campaign telling anyone I knew what she did to me. My wife is engaging in some alienation now. I’m relentless in my documentation
/r/Divorce_Men16/12/23 02:38 PM

I’m definitely in the minority here. I’m the one who wanted out!
/r/Divorce_Men16/12/23 02:22 PM

/r/Divorce_Men14/12/23 02:48 PM

Thanks
/r/Divorce_Men13/12/23 04:43 PM
2

Thanks. I’m heavily involved with my boy. I take him to the church for activities twice a week. I take him to school 2-3 times a week. Not worried about my parenting. The alienation is scary. He says he hates me and that I’m a bad person. I’ve pushed the litigation on her at times and she always reacts by messing with him. There’s lots of literature out there about BPD and alienation. They go hand in hand.
/r/Divorce_Men13/12/23 04:25 PM

No she’s not. I don’t know what the admissibility of secret recordings would be
/r/Divorce_Men13/12/23 04:20 PM
2

Thanks for the reply. End of summer is a long time away and this is my biggest concern. I will have to stay in the house as long as possible. I just gave her a bunch of money and she’s grinning ear to ear. I have to steer the ship by manipulating the manipulator
/r/Divorce_Men13/12/23 04:16 PM
2

I think a middle ground approach is better. The evaluation starts in March. I can stay here at least until Match. Look at how much I documented just this morning. She’s loving the extra attention and it makes her feel powerful and in control. I do fear once I’m out of the house she can really do work on his mind. Kids can be alienated within weeks. It’s so scary
/r/Divorce_Men13/12/23 03:38 PM
1

I’m very well versed with game theory. This move I’m doing IS game theory. She’s very dark. And she will try to alienate my son. I don’t even care about the money, if I lose my son I’ll be ruined. How would I ever recover from that? Just this morning I’mAt the house and my son said “my dad hates me he wants me to die” Then he said “I don’t even miss grandma” (my mom) Then he was playing with me and said “let me go let me go your holding me down stop” and she said “OMG what are you doing let him …

It’s possible to settle everything using a lawyer to draft a settlement agreement. Discuss custody and discuss financial split. If she becomes unreasonable you know what to do. My wife refused to compromise anywhere so now we are in court

You are asking a subset of men that have been put through the ringer. You will hear our perspective and you need to take heed of our warnings. Nevertheless you should also listen to the married people that have made it work for 30 plus years and are genuinely happy with their partners

What I’ve done. 1. Exercise. 4-5 days a week. It’s great. I also hike and off road. 2. Lots of friends. I have many friends to hang with. Single and divorced. 3. Dating. Zero. 4. Therapy two times a month. Working on my own issues with co-dependency and narcissism. I score very high on all narcissist tests and have very strong narcissistic traits. But, it doesn’t give rise to a personality disorder. That’s what my therapist said. But it’s weird. I lack empathy. I am grandiose as fuck. I am entit…

I wonder what the big picture is here. This theme of men losing their children to the mothers. There’s also the deadbeat that walks away and doesn’t care. Then there’s us, the good fathers that want to be involved and yet have to fight so hard. It’s a shame that it’s like this. But life goes on and you have to make the best of your life circumstances

I live in OC! Whats up neighbor. As for dating I haven’t dipped my toe into that pond other than some minimal tinder which I promptly deleted. I don’t know how bad the entitlement is out there. Most of my friends are still married. I have a small group of recently divorced and never marrieds we go out with in Newport a few times a month. I’m extremely guarded and have only been to a few strip clubs for some fun here and there. At the least with the strippers it’s business only 🤷🏻

Good move. I’m glad you set boundaries. Unfortunately women can be like this. Even your own daughters. Make them work for your wealth and your loyalty. Trust is earned not given. And don’t ever forget it. Kids don’t love you they NEED you. They must choose to love us. But they don’t have to. As parents it’s our duty to love them. But not to be used. Good luck

My wife fucked me over pretty bad. Manipulated the children. Fought me on custody. Cheated on me. Tried to have me arrested for DV. So many breaches of trust. I took serious damage emotionally. I have rebuilt my friendships and made new ones. But I have zero place in my heart for a woman

My friend now is not the time to be thinking about a future partner. You went through a traumatic experience by filing for divorce and by being cheated on by your wife. Now is the time to handle business with the divorce. If there’s kids involved you need to focus on them. A new partner will come in due time. As for me, I have zero interest in one. Good luck sir and I’m Sorry you’ve been hurt.

I can honestly say that I loved that woman with every fiber in my body. I always told her if this doesnt work out I’m done. No more relationships. And it looks like I spoke truth to it. 6 months separated and I have zero interest in dating at all. The libido collapse is hilarious. I don’t have to spend money on their ass and I’m very happy about it. Sex comes with strings attached. Knowing my crazy self I want to control them which in turns means I get controlled. NO THANKS!

Anything over 40 hours a week and I get pissed off that I’m being enslaved 😜 Sorry your wife got bored like this. I believe love exists. I have seen it with a distant uncle who was in a car crash and ended up paralysed. His wife stayed with him until he died 20 years later. I have seen the elderly that have been together for 50 years and when one passes the other follows. It does exist it’s just become very rare. People with minimal sexual partners have the most stable relationships.

That’s terrible. False accusations suck. That’s why I filed first so I can somewhat control the narrative with the court. My wife is an undiagnosed and unaware cluster b (hence why we were together in the first place) and she too splits and is rewriting her own history with me. Im sorry you were so terribly hurt by her. It’s experiences like yours that truly make me thankful for being the way I am as I would never ever ever give anyone that much. Fuck no. Did you realise she was a cluster b befo…

My narcissism has caused me lots of trouble. When I’m angry at my significant other I split them into oblivion. I hate them and don’t talk to them for weeks. I can verbally tear you apart. And I feel Nothing. It sucks. Do you know what it’s like to split? I split all the time. One day I can love you the next day you are a horrible person. God forbid you actually do hurt me. The penalty is always 4 times worse than the crime I have my therapist and we are working hard

Thanks for the long reply. I’m in therapy for myself. We are “working” through my issues. I’m in a divorce and have effectively split my entire marriage. My therapist is worried I’ll throw out the good that was in the marriage and leave me in a worse place going forward as my feelings are completely numb. Rest assured I have gone forward from the divorce without obtaining “new supply”. It’s been painful and brutal as I feel the deadness inside me yey but if I’m to ever become the person you desc…

I’ve had 5 romantic relationships. 5 of significance. I ended all of them. All 5 of them I was on the alert to see if there interest was waning. Anytime I sense that I was losing emotional control of them I ended it. And by emotional control I mean that they were losing interest in me. I cannot control how they feel about me. But I can control whether the relationship exists by me ending it. What a great way to live!
