Our story was different. Before the birth of our kid, we had a very good relationship. She was my best friend. No pressure regarding Kids or marriage. But then after the birth, her personality changed completely.

Thx, but I am based in Europe. Factually, she can travel within Europe without limits. Once she lives in another country, the local court can state that the kid should stay. The court in my country will state otherwise. So.it will be an international lawsuit. ..

Thanks! But as her personality almost completely changed after the birth, there were not red flags during the our 5 years before. No conflicts, no pressure. So I still do not get it, how a person can change that much.

Sorry that you have to experience this..My exwife also changed completely after the birth of our child. Nada, as you write. I suggest to go for marriage therapy and in parallel prepare divorce, e.g talk to a lawyer and optimize assets. This might give you a fall back option of the counselling does not help.

Having been in a similar situation, I would recommend divorcing ASAP for 3 reasons: 1. She is unlikely to change 2. The earlier you pull the plug, the easier it is for your kid to accept. Our kid was 3 and just appreciates to have 2 homes ;-) 3. The longer you wait, the more maintenance she will be entitled to (at least in the legal framework I am living in) All the best!

I was in a similar Situation. She is done with your relationship and apparently is not at all interested to reconcile. The more you try, the more self respect you may lose. I also suggest you to end it ASAP and not to wait for your daughter chaning schools. I had to live with my exw 6 months and she was dating. It is a horrible feeling. Furthermore, your daughter might enjoy school, but she will be exposed even longer to the toxic relationship. I was only able to end it completely, once my suffe…

I totally agree. Teaching Kids a wrong relationship model will harm them much more than a clean cut that might even improve the relationship to your wife.

Thanks for the reflected answer. I am already helping her, but in times like now, I want to stop supporting her , even though it is not smart.

I am pushing, but rental market sucks. I am afraid that she limits access to the kid when I push even more.

She started changing significantly after giving Birth. She simply lost her love for.me It took her 2 years to acknowledge that therapy would help her. I launched 3x marriage therapies. But no change. Then I divorced.

Hi, I am Kind of feeling the same. I met gorgeous women that would have perfectly matched. Only that I did not feel any chemistry. I did not even want to hug. I am divorced but my wife is still living with me until she has found a new flat. Sometimes I even have a bad conscious for dating women. I believe that these are still the remaining parts of martial conditioning ;-). Best regards

I am really sorry that you have to experience such torture for such a long time. Even though it sounds difficult: You have to leave for your kids. Them seeing such relationship pattern will hurt them long term. Besides, think about what kind of life you want to look back at in 30 years. For sure, it should not be permanent suffering.

No affair here, but constant lack of love/ appreciation combined with inability to solve conflicts. So I proposed a divorce and she agreed. So far its peaceful also because of our kid and because I was generous. We will try to become friends, let's see how this works once one of us will have a new LTR.

I understand your thoughts and I am feeling the same. From time to time, it feels like failure to be divorced, even though I did everything to make it work and the decision to divorce was mine. To display to others that it is not your fault (e.g. u did not cheat) and that she did not divorce you, you could state something like: "I am really sorry that it did not work out, but the decision to divorce was good" Hope this helps.

During my marriage several years, I never disclosed my wealth. I would strongly recommend you to do the same.

I was going through a similar story. She just stopped loving me and several therapies could not help. Most important insight is that it is not your fault but her Problem. People change. All the best!

I had the same Situation. What helped was creating a list of all the Situations that made me want to divorce her including what I felt during these situations. Whenever I got weak, reading my list helped.
