Desire does not equal God’s will. There are lots of things that are good that we can desire but we will never have. There are two man choices within “God’s will:” marriage or celibacy. You can choose either one and still fully be in his will.

You are listening to too much in YouTube Red Pill and your flesh, but not Christ. Fornication is fornication, whether by a man or a woman. Jesus calls you to repent.

Fair enough. I think it’s the scope of the choice that grated at me. Denominations are separated by particular convictions. It’s almost like saying, “which religion has the best looking women?” I’ll go with that one. The state of the church today is a mixed bag at best. If you choose a church based on women’s looks alone, you might end up in a Christian like cult (see the LDS). If you’re choosing between two churches that faithfully teach the Bible and proclaim the true gospel, and one has more …

The people who find their way to red pill, came because they weren’t succeeding. It’s generally an unattractive space. Most people who are swimming in female attention don’t ever ask the things that lead here. Most often, they’re the ones that tell everyone, “just talk to her bro…” Congratulations on being an outlier.

LDS believe God was once a man, and that Jesus and Satan are brothers… not Christian, they just use similar vocabulary with different meanings. And this is a weird question…

Have you read any of the side bar? Or are you just watching popular YouTube content and assuming that the train wreck that draws the eyes is red pill? That’s kind of like watching a liberal Christian talk about how Jesus was trans and assuming they know what they’re talking about because a million people watched the video. To get to the truth, you have to go back to the source. For followers of Christ, we go to the Word. For RP, you go to the side bar. Unfortunately today, many, with very little…

Self pity is a form of pride. It’s just the other side of the coin. It is an entire focus on self while ignoring what God says about you. “Humble yourselves before the Lord, and he will exalt you.” ‭‭James‬ ‭4‬:‭10‬ ‭ESV “But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.” ‭‭Matthew‬ ‭6‬:‭33‬ ESV “But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness,” ‭‭Galatians‬ ‭5‬:‭22‬ ‭ESV “Abide in me, and I in you. Talk to a lawyer before doing anything here. My friend’s lawyer basically told him to do everything opposite of this. Leaving the house sets up a case for abandonment. Hiding resources can be spun as you trying to abscond with the money. Talk to a lawyer in your state. There is a guide for your situation in the MPR sidebar. Look it over.

Check rule 2 in the community info. You won’t get much from anyone until you post stats. It helps those who know what they’re talking about know where to start. I know this feels really urgent right now, but there’s nothing that will instantly repair 11 years, so you might as well start reading the sidebar. Any advice you get here will not be a quick fix.

Anyone can do what ever they want, generally, however, I’m going to advise my son that marriage is not the end goal. At minimum, it should cause a serious pause and consideration. It may be better to remain single than to marry an internet sex worker, especially if you’re sensitive. You can however go the Hosea route and choose to model God’s faithful love in all circumstances… I think I’d prefer celibacy to that…

It also strikes me that your comment about women being sub communicators needs to be applied to everything she said, including the statement that she’d never do it again. Following your logic, she may have just said that as a form of anti slut defense. Since we can’t get to the intentions of another person, especially with limited second hand information from a boyfriend, or advice needs reflect a response to the words she said. Either way, his best choice is to run…

I understand what you’re saying, but every one of your reasons that you listed are rooted in the flesh and fear of the world rather than fearing God. Men likewise may have similar reactions rooted in pride. How ever you slice it, the response is not humbling yourselves under a mighty God that you might receive mercy. They who are forgiven much, love much. Minimizing the evil will only serve to minimize love for the Grace-giver. But as you said in your edit, it seems like a moot point.

True repentance is a change in attitude and action. I don’t see Paul saying that he didn’t regret persecuting the church because it made him who he was. Nor did Peter not regret denying Christ before the rooster crowed. In Jesus’ parable, the man beating his chest went away justified. That’s not to say that our proper feeling justify us, but true repentance is the result of godly sorrow.

What if you are? What bearing does that have? Does you potentially being a hypocrite require that you marry her? It sounds like you’re trying to argue yourself into staying and justifying you not doing the hard thing. This is not something that will get easier to deal with in time. Take it seriously, but don’t take your gut as fact. Your gut can be influenced by what you’re reading. After reading Rollo, I drove head long into my anger phase inflamed by inadequacy and fear. My wife hadn’t displayed any signs of disrespect or anything to worry about, but because all our kids were out of the little kid stage, I was terrified that my wife was going to fall into the resurgence of the party years and leave me because I was out of shape and acting like a jealous baby. If she decides to divorce you because you saw a girls butt, she was already looking for a way out and in searching for justification. You need to realize right now… You cannot see the future. Whom ever you marry will change over time. Marriage is different with kids and then different when the kids are gone. There can be tragedies that break one or both of you. The only person you have any direct control over is yourself. Stop think yourself into a hole and choose faithfulness.

It’s funny, because growing up, preachers always try to have you put yourself in David’s shoes when he fights Goliath. Be brave, be a hero. When usually David is a symbol of a greater king to come from his line. Though he is just a shadow, he is an image of Christ to come. We shouldn’t put ourselves in his place. Rather, we are the inadequate army that stands paralyzed before the enemy Goliath, and David is the promised king who slays the giant and saves Israel. David is deliberately inadequate,…

The Red Pill has always been a pretty unattractive space. Most people who find themselves here, myself included, were not experiencing a great deal of success in their marriages. Maybe try had a low conflict marriage and things were generally pleasant at home, but there was something missing. Usually something in the bedroom. Coffe cup Christianity often results in platitudes. Greg Koukl has a saying. “Never read a Bible verse.” Single verses are almost always ripped out of context or have no context to clarify what is meant by them.

It is a common conversation between me and men I trust. I’ve always had a variety of accountability groups from the time I was college until now one thing you need to know is that at 43 with a wife the desire does not go away. Have you ever heard the term, “dirty old man?” Men in their 70s 80s and even 90s can struggle with this. Have you read the side bar? A huge part of the red pill is seeing the world as it is. Attraction is a very important part of a sexual relationship. My problem was that I swelled up like a balloon and thought that my wife should be passionate simply because we had said our vows years before. It doesn’t work that way. You asked three questions as though one of them is THE right answer. When really, all three can play a part. If you only use your wife like a sex doll to get off, she’ll end up frust…

This “divining” of God’s will through signs is a pagan notion. Unless an angel showed up to you and said, “thus says the Lord, pursue Jennifer romantically.” Definitely don’t tell her about some “signs” you have seen. I had a good friend in college who had a dream that he was supposed to marry a particular girl. He told her, she freaked out and didn’t want anything to do with him because she was weirded out. A. First, the issue wasn’t denial, but rather lackluster performance. Second, should doesn’t mean anything in this space. People shouldn’t get divorced most of the time. A wife should obey the commands of scripture. And yet, this space exists because you can’t make people do what they should do. You can’t make people desire what they don’t desire. I am mocking the idea that chore-play will help your sex life. I was as blue pill as you could be. The problem is when you have a covert contract that if you do more chores, then your wife will reciprocate with sex. This never works, but it’s common advice in Christian circles. “Your wife is tired! Be a real man and do more around the house. She’s a crockpot, your a microwave. If she feels loved by your chore work, she’ll be more likely to want more sex.” Before I came to this space, no one ever…

What we can imagine and what we feel have little bearing on the matter at hand. And not being Catholic, I don’t submit to their magisterium. What they teach must match the teaching of scripture, or I treat it like any other human author. Maybe good, maybe not. Maybe useful, maybe not. I see not clear injunction against oral sex, nor do I find the rational/biblical arguments winsome. It appears to me to be an area of freedom for married couples.

This is a more challenging view to take than you might think. If sex must be toward procreation, then we have to accept that any kind of sex with out that goal is somehow wrong. This means no birth control of any kind and no form of family planning. It could potentially mean that after menopause and man and wife should be celibate, because sex can’t produce a child. What about women who are unable to have children for medical reasons? The biggest problem with these sorts of stances, is that like…

Your choices aren’t adequate. Everything is permissible but not everything is beneficial. It depends on the music and it depends on the person. I know one lady who was saved later in life, when she listens to secular music that she once loved, it affects her negatively and brings up old ways of thinking. She chooses to abstain. Cool story of God’s faithfulness in the midst of struggle. I also appreciate your diligent effort to be faithful and to apply the scriptures to your life. It’s not over Chuck’s head, he’s saying it’s unnecessarily verbose. Why delve into theoretical concepts when there is a clear cut line in scripture? The picture itself is not against God’s will, but posting it for the world to see is without a doubt active rebellion against God, his standards for modesty. We aren’t called to pray about sinful behavior, or to think about it. We are to turn away from it and pursue godliness. Anything other than stopping should bring you into the process of church discipline.

I’ve lived overseas in various places in Asia and the Middle East for over 8 years of my life. Going overseas will not guarantee you a strong successful marriage. In fact, unless you have your stuff together, you’re likely to start at a disadvantage, even if you find a virgin. Along with what Chuck said, a lot of this confusion can come down to definitions. You have to be careful with words like love. People abuse the concept of love all the time. “You don’t approve of my lifestyle and moral choices, you don’t love me…”, “if you really loved me, you’d have sex with me…” “if you really loved me, you’d do everything like I say when I say.” None of these are love. If you don’t have a clear purpose and direction, you are in danger of making your woman the purpose of your life. And red pill exists because that road leads to misery. It feels a bit like elementary… ”well, you’re dumb” What you said really is a platitude. And it’s a platitude that doesn’t really address his question or help. Walk the talk means to back up your talk with action. This is the problem he’s trying to address. There are a lot of people around him who are not “walking the talk.” The bibli…

From a secular perspective, you’re always moving towards a close with any woman. You’re always meeting new women and letting others go. Unless you’re having sex 30 minutes after you meet every woman, you would in theory have several plates you had not closed with (yet), that you are spinning none the less. The closest thing I ever came to this as a Christian was in college. I was at a secular university with a massive Christian subculture. The largest organization on the campus was a Christian s…

This is great. Thanks for taking the time to write this. I was think about this the other day as I was working through Ephesians 5. Often times when people talk about the husbands and wives section, the first words out someone’s mouth is “but they should…” Wives should submit, “but husbands…” Husbands should love, “but wives should…” I’m more guilty than most on this point. The reality is, it is always your responsibility to do what God has told you to do, regardless of what others do.

As chuck said, the first place to begin is with an honest spiritual assessment. If you are born again, having thrown yourself off God’s mercy found in Christ’s finished work on the cross, then you have been sealed with His Holy Spirit. That is the foundation of any step forward. From there, and only from that foundation can you begin to deal with with this as one standing on the Rock. Addressing it before that is building on a pile of sand. If you’re confident of your standing in Christ, you can…

This shouldn’t be too confusing. Sex feels good and the heart above all things is deceitful. No one will lie to you as much as you. We have an amazing ability to explain away any amount of discomfort. Like so many things, when it comes to following Christ, this is not complicated. It may not always be easy, but it’s not complicated. There are always competing desires. As you learn to abide in Christ, his Spirit confirms you to the character of His Son. But like Chick said, without His Spirit, th…

Hard to say with out knowing you or her. 4 years doesn’t make much difference the older you get, but I definitely know a few guys who ended up marrying older and ended up with a second mother. Not to mention that a lot of teachers I know tend to be a little more head strong due to their work requiring them to be in charge at all times.

ESV “Now the Spirit expressly says that in later times some will depart from the faith by devoting themselves to deceitful spirits and teachings of demons, through the insincerity of liars whose consciences are seared, who forbid marriage and require abstinence from foods that God created to be received with thanksgiving by those who believe and know the truth.” ‭‭1 Timothy‬ ‭4:1-3‬ ‭ESV‬‬ Whether meat or food, the point remains the same. Correcting this to food instead of meat changes nothing f…

I thought the point I made was that obligation sex wasn’t making either of us happy… my wife has always been willing. For me, I’ve reached the point that I’d rather go without for a time rather than continue with what’s broken. And in the mean time, while I’m getting my stuff in order, losing weight, building muscle, I’ve found that a calm, non-thirsty attitude toward sex goes a long way to bringing her my way. I tried just not initiating years ago, but that was weak manipulation, since it was m…

As for number 3, Skill in something like BJJ can definitely be an equalizer, but physical size and strength is not totally negated by skill. For example, 2nd day of my training, I rolled with the owner of the place. As I had 100lbs on him, he had to work harder than he would have with a white belt his own size. He still choked me, but he played it a lot more defensively. On the other hand, after I got my first stripe, I rolled with a new guy that had only been coming a week. I had more skill, bu…

Thanks for the article and the thorough response. The distinction between biblical headship and complementarianism taught in most churches was most helpful.

Physical: Lifting is still going well.I've had to make a few adjustments for pain in my elbow. Doing more isolation lifts on push day, and my compound movements switched to about 40% with higher reps. The scale does not want to budge, but my clothes are fitting better, and the trainer at the gym told me that he can tell a difference from when I started a few months ago. I find that lifting helps my mind focus on work later. No porn, alcohol, cigarettes or drugs, other than caffeine. However, I w…

Really, I was first introduced to some of these ideas 3-4 years ago… when I read MMSLP Athol Kay. But I was probably glowing blue at the time. I didn’t feel comfortable with some of the concepts and threw out the baby with the bath water…

I'm new here, so this is my first OYS Physical: I've had to back off the heavy weights a bit and get creative as I began to feel some pain in my right elbow, but I'm still getting in 3-5 times a week for the past 2 months. My weight is holding stable, but I have moved from 38% body fat to 36% and my clothes fit a little better. Im using a macros app designed by Mike Isreatel, and I've enjoyed it. Mostly eating whole foods, drink my coffee black and cut out most all sugars. I don't use porn, or s…

I think we're way off topic at this point. Maybe can be said about anything. And given that there is no good reason to assume that there is a ONE perfect soulmate other than cultural romantic notions. I'm going to stick to the Biblical counsel.

That's the essence of my point. If we have to find the mythical ONE, but someone doesn't, it all falls apart. It makes more sense to believe that there isn't a ONE. It's a worldview issue. Some of the same people who claim to believe in God's sovereignty and finding that one soul mate later divorce and feel like they made some mistake in assessing the ONE. "Maybe this wasn't the one God intended..." The myth of the one is absorbed culturally rather than taught biblically.

Like how one person eating a forbidden fruit caused the fall of all mankind? Someone sins, and they face consequences. One of those consequences might be the failure to meet or recognize their one best love and forfeiture of all that entails. Sometimes the heartache of realizing what you've lost out on isn't a punishment, it's a reminder. You're absolutely right that sin has consequences outside of yourself. And they can pass down. Especially if all humanity comes from you. God has set up that l…

Or, if the conclusion is ridiculous, then the premise is unsound. That is, if the logic of an idea leads to absurdities, then maybe there’s something wrong with the idea. With the ONE souls mate idea, if one person misses it (and many people feel like they have), then most end up missing it because some one accidentally took their soul mate, so they take someone else’s. This conclusion is silly, so the idea behind it is as well. I don’t actually think that you can marry the “wrong person,” if by…

My overall point is that if there is only one person that you’re supposed to marry, and you get that wrong, you don’t just mess it up for yourself, you create a domino effect that could destroy the future 😂

Perhaps I wasn’t clear. Equally yoked in the context of that passage has nothing to do with being intended for each other. “Do not be unequally yoked with unbelievers. For what partnership has righteousness with lawlessness? Or what fellowship has light with darkness?” 2 Corinthians‬ ‭6:14‬ My point is that the only real qualification is that you are equally yoked, meaning that you are both Christians, following the same path, pulling toward the same purpose. If one of you is following Christ an…
