You’re scared? You shouldn’t be posting here. This is for real men, who mostly have been dealing with women who are emotionally abusive. You sound like an emotional abusive woman. Jesus fucking christ this is not how men should behave

Your man card should be revoked. You were emotionally abusive to her? Grow up, man up, treat your person better

I was married 17 years, 4 kids, and she cheated multiple times. I was Sole provider for most of it. Don’t rely on a woman for happiness. As weird as it sounds you gotta fall in love with yourself, and be happy by yourself. Because chances are, you’re an awesome guy. Get to know yourself and enjoy time with yourself. Guys fucking rock; hard working, content with simple pleasures in life. Women are an absolute shit shows, especially when they menstruate every month. Find a small pleasure you have …

I ubered nights and weekends to keep my credit good and not rack up debt. I also lived in a house with 6 roommates to cut my living costs down

I feel your pain man. Very similar situation here. I work full time, work ANY overtime that I can (it’s not a lot) and hustle with side jobs. The ex works part time and my kids come to me for all the big expenses (like $600 for my daughter’s cheerleading) I recently started donating plasma, which I recommend. Just did a promo where I made $650 for 8 donations. Takes about an hour per donation. Anyway, hang in there man. I have to remind myself this is temporary. We just have to weather the storm…

Great post dude! Good for you, and I never get tired of hearing/reading these posts. I get tired of reading the posts where the guy is in complete denial that his soon to be ex is sleeping with someone else and already moved on from them. I feel awful for them, but it gets old reading the same scripts over and over. But regardless, good for you! You are absolutely correct in that it can get so much better. Cheers mate 🍻 enjoy your new life 😎

I’m in the same position my friend. My ex cheated after 17 years, completely destroyed me. My parents are christians. My ex found jesus about a year after she got caught. My parents said the same things to me, that I brought her into the family, and she is essentially their daughter. Blew me away. I had to divorce my parents too. I cannot imagine ever doing that to my kids, blood is blood. I agree with you. I’d feel different if I was the one cheating, or maybe we just grew apart, or I was abusi…

Divorced in Texas here. Spousal Support isn’t really a thing here. They might get 3 - 9 months, and every situation is different, but it’s not like California. No calculator like there is for child support, and no lifetime spousal support

You have 20 - 25 years to rebuild your wealth if you pull the chord and let her go. The alternative is to let her spend you into the ground. Maybe your marriage is worth saving if she can change, but you’re gonna have to tell her how strongly you feel about this, let her know it’s a dealbreaker if she won’t get on board with being fiscally responsible. Sounds like you have enabled a monster; no judgement from me, I did the same thing. I’m 40, and rebuilding with nobody spending my money now and …

Jesus man, I feel for you. I had something similar in that I discovered my ex had been cheating for most of our 17 year marriage, and I still grapple with the enormity of it. Can’t speak to the suicide part of your story, I can’t imagine going through that.

Gah damnit sorry bro. Thank you for your service. What a piece of trash she is. Do not let her know that you know. Talk to an attorney right away. Don’t know what state you live in. If you’re in an “at-fault” state, getting evidence of the affair can make a big difference in your divorce. Bottom line is your lawyer will know, and give you the guidance.

She has only “moved on” so fast because she had likely already jumped into another relationship. I know that’s crushing to experience. You are doing good though. It’s been 3 years for me, just had a nightmare that woke me up at 4:30 this morning (very rare for me). To do it right, it’s a long, very long, hard path to your new life. You will get there in time if you do it right. Feel the pain. It’s not gonna kill you. Don’t jump into another relationship. Focus on yourself. You’re seeing a therap…

I love and hate this post. I’m happy it worked out for you, but you’re also back legally tied to a woman, and you can’t say you won’t get burned. Sure it’s great now, after many years, but many dudes on this sub have been destroyed by women they thought were great, after many years, and then they aren’t one day, and they are ruined. It’s also not true that it will simply work out for all men, that in time, we will find that unicorn woman. Some of us won’t. A man shouldn’t rely on another woman f…

If you’re in an “at-fault” state it could be huge for you to have evidence. Adultery is always on that list. I used an automatic voice recorder. Also, your cell phone provider may have text logs. I had AT&T and that’s how I initially discovered it but she denied denied. Once I had the audio where she was admitting it to her mom that was it. Be careful though, it’s not legal in all states to record a conversation without their knowledge. So check that out.

I can tell from your comments you’re absolutely on the right path though, and that’s the important part. As hard as it is, you’re certain there’s no going back, and you’re right. That is what’s driving you, even though it’s painful, you think logically and know what you have to do.

It’s been 3 years, and I am definitely on the better side of things at this point. You’ll get there too eventually, just takes time. Lots of peace in my life now, no more of her crazy bullshit and chaos draining me on the daily.

You gotta love yourself and not rely on another person for your happiness. You sound like a guy who has a lot going for himself. And you’re very young with lots of time to rebuild. Get to know yourself and grow from this. You have a whole lotta life ahead of you.

Women don’t just decide to blow up their family, and leave you and the financial security you provide. She’s already got a replacement. Leave you, to go be on her own, and have to work full time, AND have a lower quality of life? Nope, she’s been cheating. Sometimes the trash takes itself out. Let her go.
/r/Divorce_Men27/08/24 12:25 AM

You would have to spend thousands and thousands of dollars on a financial forensic person to try and prove she racked up the majority of the debt, and in the end it doesn’t matter. Whatever debt she racked up is going to be split 50/50 between you. All you can do is cut it off now.
/r/Divorce_Men09/08/24 01:22 PM

All of the suggestions here are solid. Prepare and protect yourself from false claims from her. Record everything. Demand a trial date from your lawyer. Cut her off financially, and when you do, she is going to loose her shit. Be ready. Stand tall, hold on, and push your way forward.

Dude, you are getting played an absolute fool. Some cell phone companies let you see text logs for each phone on the plan, if you need hard evidence. Texas is wayyyyyyy better for you. Alimony (spousal support) is very limited here. Child Support goes right off the calculator. You just plug in your monthly gross income, health care monthly cost, and dental care monthly cost. Just google texas family law child support calculator

A) I learned to learned to never put myself in that position again. I owned my failures. It was me who picked her. My lawyer said she might get 3 - 6 months of spousal support tops. She ended up getting nothing. God bless Texas. But if that’s not the case, I think you’ll be in good shape

I’ve been there, and I’m sorry you’re going through this. Exercise was the only thing that provided any relief for me. I was terrified about going through the discovery process. For lots of good reasons. It ended up not too bad. I produced everything they asked for, she produced nothing. I’m guessing she has probably been cheating on you for years. Sounds like she doesn’t respect you at all, and I agree with you in pursuing divorce. Most lawyers offer a free initial consultation. I would strongly encourage to consult with many lawyers, get input from your friends, peers, look at reviews for different lawyers online. Do your due diligence and get a good lawyer. Once you find a good one, you can expect about $350/hr (in Texas), and they will want a retainer up front, probably 10k …

Yes, you pay the child support and she can spend it however she wants. But she no longer has access to any other money of yours. My ex was constantly spending “our” money. The money I made. So yeah, I gotta pay child support, but I don’t have her spending all my money on amazon shit we don’t need, or Marshalls or Kohls, or getting $300 hair cuts etc

Recently divorced in Texas, 4 kids, expanded standard custody. Yes, the CS is brutal, but spousal support isn’t really a thing in Texas. I pay zero spousal support. Also, don’t forget you won’t be on the hook for all of your ex’s spending; amazon, kohls, marshalls, gucci, $300 haircuts, etc etc etc. This off sets a good part of the child support

If you haven’t already, I recommend getting snipped first. Then have as much fun as you like. I would keep your ex in the dark; it won’t help you in the divorce process. My ex cheated on me and I wanted badly to throw it in her face but I’m grateful I never did. Also, she will likely use it against you with your kids. Don’t give her any ammunition. But go have fun, don’t take them seriously, enjoy your freedom!

Love this post. Wish I could party with all you dudes as well! This sub has been so helpful for me the last 2+ years. It’s also settling down for me as well and I’ve accepted that this is my reality, and I gotta make the most of it. Happy 2024 my friend 🍻

Love hearing this OP! Similar situation here. My cheating ex’s family are all losers especially when it comes to finances. She’s devastated the gravy train is over. Love it bro, let her suffer!

I was married for 17 yrs w 4 kids, I know the feeling. Bitch stepped out and threw it all away. Sorry you’re going through it my man. Only thing that made the horrible feeling in my gut go away was alcohol and/or exercise. Choose the latter. There will be brighter days ahead, but your whole world just got blown to pieces and destroyed. Massive trauma. It’s gonna take time. I had to use alcohol for a good while until I could pick myself up off the mat. Therapy is also very important. Hang in ther…

I absolutely get the logic, find someone else. It’s just very difficult because we had pretty much perfected the sex. I know exactly which buttons to push, when to push, and for how long. I’ve hooked up with other women since separating, and it’s just so much different.

I’m in Texas, and my ex was off the rails with her drug and alcohol abuse. My attorney told me that regarding weed, it’s really not viewed by the courts as an issue, all things considered, she’s not homeless or in rehab. I think you should be just fine. But with all things, ask your lawyer, and best of luck to you

Very similar experience here. I feel for you, I know how bad it hurts, and the anger. I’m a little over 2 yrs out, and only officially divorced for about 3 months now. The common thread you’ll read is hit the gym, eat healthy, exercise and read, focus on yourself, and it’s all true. You’re in the very beginning, and most difficult stage imo. There is a very bright future awaiting you. There is a better life than you can imagine. But it’s a long hard painful road and you have only begun. Focus on…

I agree with others that I’m guessing she’s hiding a lot of bad behaviors. But I’m having a hard time understanding why you would give another woman a ride on your motorcycle? How would you react if she came to you and wanted to ride a motorcycle with another dude?

One of the best parts for me has been being in total control of my finances and not having to finance all of her bullshit. No charges from Kohls, Marshalls, TJ Max, Target, Victorias Secret, Amazon, Amazon, Amazon, $300 haricuts. No speeding tickets to pay. No repairs to her vehicle she wrecked. I’m crushing it financially even after paying her sorry ass child support. It’s truly better on the other side my man, but can be a painful road to get there, but we’ve all walked it. I look back and can…

I don’t have any experience with this, but my guess is that most judges would not look kindly on this. Assuming you have an attorney, I’m curious what they say… Best of luck to you my man.

So kinduva long story. My attorney and her attorney negotiated back and forth. We had everything agreed upon except custody. We could have got a hearing w judge this afternoon to make a final ruling, but her attorney wasn’t available this afternoon. So we set the hearing for July 31st. And that will be it. No more negotiating, just a final hearing (which is what I thought today was going to be). Anyways, I feel good. With all the evidence I have of her 3 affairs, 2 domestic battery charges with …

Or worse yet OP knocks her up with twins or triplets 🙈. Child support for 3 or 4 as opposed to one! I’d take this as pretty clear sign to get out of this relationship. When would it stop? Buy me this house, or I’ll divorce you. I wanna buy this new car, and if you won’t let me I’ll divorce you. I wanna boob job, and if you won’t let me I’ll divorce you. If she really loved you, and respected you, she wouldn’t threaten you w divorce

I’m still going through the divorce process, but I’d say having full control of my finances has been so great. Hasn’t been a single charge on my account from Marshalls, Kohls, Ulta beauty, nail salon, fucking hair salon, TJ Max. The fucking money she would spend on her hair was always a tough pill to swallow! Went through something similar. And as the story often goes, she has begged me multiple times to take her back. We were married 17 yrs. I’m only 38, plenty of time to rebuild my life. I’d really be screwed if she did it when I was 58. Try to take the emotion out of it as best you can. Think logically. If she did it now, what’s preventing her from doing it again in 10 yrs, or 20 yrs. What would you do then? My advice is to move on. Mourn your marriage, start rebuilding your life. The pain dissipa…

Similar situation here; the main thing is know that it will get better with time. I was devastated initially, really threw myself into work. It gets a little better every day now. I also go on long walks. Sorry to hear it my man, but you WILL survive, and have a better life!

Welp, sounds like you’re expecting her to make rationale, responsible decisions; 1st mistake. Assuming she was faithful and only started dating him after the separation; 2nd mistake. Not much you can do aside from telling her what you think. Buckle up my man, they can be miserable human beings, but you’re not alone.

All you can do now is put on your man pants, and keep your dignity. Don’t give chase. Get a therapist, focus on yourself. Sorry you have to go through this. These are the worst days though, it will start to get better with time.

I wouldn’t come clean yet. Sounds to me like it’s just beginning between them. I’d continue monitoring their relationship and only come forward with the evidence when you have something solid to confront her with. I went through something very similar; it’s hard, but if you blow your cover now she’ll be on high alert going forward and you’ll never know for sure what she was capable of doing to you. Best of luck

As much shit as I’ve read here about guys getting ruined from a cheating spouse, i gotta say; what you’re doing is wrong, and not fair to your wife. She deserves way better. You need to shit or get off the pot.

Try to stop and take a deep breath my friend. I agree with the other posts here that what you’re feeling is normal, it’s part of the process. I experience some of the same feelings. Hell yeah! I’m in a very similar situation, and feel as you do. We’re better than this. I won’t stand for it. My wife’s been fucking my neighbor for 2 months; I’m moving on (she’ll know in ab 2 weeks). As a man, it really doesn’t matter what life may look like for me after divorce. You fuck another guy, IT’S OVER, I’M OUT. That’s a fundamental rule in life that I will always fucking adhere to. You’re in a good place. You’re a fucking good person and won’t have some cunt treat you this way. Good …

I’m in a very similar situation. I have four kids, have always been the breadwinner, and have serious concerns ab my housing situation. Wife is lazy, no education, no work ethic. No family nearby. My wife is cheating on me, so as a man I have no choice. Leave and get a 2nd or 3rd job; whatever the fuck it takes. I would maybe suggest marriage counseling to maybe buy you some time. I bought a used car for 5K because I don’t have my own car. I’ve been using my company vehicle, which I’m not allowed to use for personal use. My wife’s van is easily worth double what I bought. Is the judge going to give my wife the van and my car? Make me take the bus to get my kids???

I’ve been documenting everything at the request of my lawyer. A few weeks ago, i woke up for work; found her butt naked passed out on the living room floor, kind of folded in half.
