Thanks for sharing. I would classify my stbx as crazy child who screams for every other thing. So need to be cautious of that fact. Hope you are doing good now.

Thanks for providing info. The marriage was 2.5 years long. And business is 4 year old and I was a passive partner in it. I have a job which is my primary source if income. Anything I can use as strategy to not give her any share if the business value increase since this LLC started prior to marriage and all accounts were separate.

2.5 years married. I get distributions from the business annually. But no salary. She knows last year’s distribution I took from the business from our tax return but nothing more. Other than jacking up alimony, is there anything else she can do to claim portion in the business ?

Stay strong brother. How long was your marriage ? I agree 100% with your Point 1. 4 months into divorce and seems this person is after all my money and I was fool helping her get out of her debt while in marriage. She is completely flipped now.

No joint accounts. No mortgage. My accounts are just in my name and no joint liabilities.

Got it. And should all future expenses go from the new account ? Or some expenses such as phone etc can go from old accounts ?

Thanks, but is it looked at negatively if I spend more than usual or doesn’t actually matter in grand scheme of things ?

She wanted me around her all the time. Whenever I was gonna leave her to go meet my friends, there was a huge burst of anger from her end and emotional drama. Another one was she finding flaws in almost every friend or office colleague that I would praise. And found one or other way to make me stop talking to them.

Woah, i m not the only one here. I had this like 2 years and had such incident almost once a month and smaller arguments throughout the day. I always used to pray to have courage to get out of this bs marriage. Atlast that day came and I pulled the trigger. Now i live separate and divorce is filed.

This resonates with me totally. Had to bear her for 2 years and then one day arguments go so heated that she decided to leave. I was like sure. Then few days back she came back but then I left the very same moment and never got back. Got papers served to her next week.

Thanks for motivating me. Really needed this. You are correct, it’s not worth it. I guess there will be lows and highs in this process.

Thank you. You are right, I am trying hard to keep myself positive by hitting gym, meeting friends but not been able to be consistent

I have seen many people saying don’t disclose voluntarily. However, I am not sure how that will help. I filed for divorce and now my attorney asked me to prepare a financial affidavit. Her lawyer has asked her the same. If I don’t disclose how will the negotiation stage start ? And also, if I don’t disclose a certain bank account that she is aware of, then wont her lawyer later on subpoena the bank and get that information and that can make me loose my credibility in front of the judge ?

It will end one day brother. We all are here with you. How long was your marriage ? Is your case still going on ? What stage is it in ?

Thanks. If STBXW is working then will she still be eligible for attorney fee to be paid by me ?

How long was your marriage and did you had kids ? What took 3.5 years ? How much did you had to pay her ? Was it 50-50 split ?

You think judge would be ever do that ? She came with 0 in marriage and now has 0 as she keeps transferring all the money to her family. I have some assets mostly liquid. I would love that outcome for me. However would like to know any success story here. How to do that ?

My story is very similar to yours. Second failed marriage lasted little over 2 years, already filed for divorce last month. She was a total sucker for me, didn’t let me flourish, didn’t contribute anything and kept transferring her entire earnings to her family. Disconnected me from my friends and family. Everyday was like living in a hell as she would create arguments on anything and everything. Stay positive man. You are not alone. Life will be good once again

Thank you for sharing. She makes 30% of what I make and we were married for about 2.5 years. She earns more than 100K a year. Would that make me pay her attorney fee? I found some alimony calculators online for illinois that shows i’ll have to pay for 6 months based on length of marriage. It scares me and also the attorney part. I fear that my STBXW will keep stretching the case if I am the one paying attorney fee as she would want to rip money off me

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
