You are the chatelaine of the household regardless of stepchildren. They ought to respect you in this role. Maybe this switch of perspective helps

I have assembled quite a few recipes per season, so Winter, Spring Summer Autumn and the in-season vegetables are accounted for. For each season 8-11 recipes (main dish) I can rotate through. Takes a ton of pressure off. And then additionally a few recipes I can do to pre-prep meals. Makes for a healthy rhythm. Maybe you can do something similar.

YourSO should feel honored t have such a wonderful person at his side - even at the worst of times keeping a level head. Hopefully he is able to show his gratitude!

My DH and I used to frequently visit interesting exhibitions (ok, his job basically makes it a given and very very very cheap), attend theater shows or other culture events of the free/autonomous culture Szene here. We always put aside a few €s for it each month. If he cooks, you could make a special cake? Or some 🤤 dessert? My DH and I to this day is sending each other the weather forecast, I always call if the train is running late so he does not need to worry, he gets a lunchbox each day (lef…

My Husband cheated on me. Years ago. He shows me that he turned a new leaf. I might yet grow old with him if he keeps it up!
/r/RedPillWomen07/04/24 02:55 PM

Words are cheap. He did not help with the dishes when she was doing them until early next morning!
/r/RedPillWomen06/04/24 05:56 PM

He did not even try Apparently! Nor did he help in the aftermath!
/r/RedPillWomen06/04/24 05:55 PM

him having space and permission to say no if he doesn’t think he can actually follow through. True. But he should have told her he was unable to do so. Instead he got cranky and let her do the dishes!
/r/RedPillWomen06/04/24 05:54 PM

But did he help washing up? Did he do anything in the aftermath apart from being angry and spoilt?
/r/RedPillWomen06/04/24 05:53 PM

Your Husband - did he at least try to do it? Did he help you once dinner was finished? Did he apologize? Did he thank you/showed gratitude? If no he just did not deem your and effort valuable and I would totally tell him! Your opinion is valid!

My Advice is to really sit down and write out your strengths and weaknesses and then start mapping out your next steps. Allow for time passing but have a sequence of next steps/goals and aggressively tackle them. It will also ease your SO‘s mind and burden.

Depending on how old you/your mother are, a deep look into books about trans-generational trauma could be beneficial. It could very well be that your mother is mirroring her own upbringing and „survival“ strategies she was taught/she learned.

We went through a lot with our child being born, traumatic labor, birth injury, and injury to me as well. Have you / your Doc ever considered post-partum depression? I will openly admit that I have a lot of anxiety, I have a short temper, and I really am terrified of being alone. Yes, that sounds like something worth investigating/bringing up at your OBgyn!

Wise People will listen to other people’s perspectives without feeling disrespected. They also accept good counsel to improve their thinking. A man that feels disrespected when he is asked to understand a woman’s perspective/listen to her is not wise!

My father is vegetarian/pescatarian so I never learned how to cook meat. I can do fish - but meat I will not touch with a three foot pole. My SO sometimes does meat, but as it is so pricy we rarely have it. His family is „extreme worker“ - eaters and prefer meat, carbs and fat to produce.

Either with red tomato sauce or yoghurt sauce. I despise mayonnaise as it fattens you up with nothing and does not keep. With yoghurt I can do a noodle salad that yields a meal for two days easily. (Refrigerated of course) I love corn, and sweet carrots in it and of course Paprika and tomatoes!

My SO has cats. I grew up with a cat, I knew how to read cat, just not his. Because all cats are slightly different in reacting to stimuli/situations. It took me a few hours until cats curiosity won and I got my initial inspection. I passed - cat wanted to cuddle and play. Then I had to defend my workspace. And my seat on the sofa. I am shocked by how most women in this forum here view their mothers as either „narcissist„ or degrade and talk badly about them in a way that is so SO toxic! Without any reflection, introspection or empathy! Not one bad word about the fathers though! Do you even know the specifics of their marriages? If one of them cheated or resorted to violence? If there was unhappiness and melancholy? Well, this judgmental tone is deeply upsetting and unbecoming! My mother was not perfect. But despite that a…

It was always the woman who kept stock. The ones overseeing the cellar and cupboards as well as the purse. They knew what was there, what was needed and what was needed by who. And they made little work well in the long run. My mother taught me how to lead a House when I was young, we lived on the remains of a farm that was being reformed. From observing Friends and Family: 1) If Father takes the baby let it be his decision where he goes. I keep my nails short-ish and well taken care of but rarely apply color to them. Part of it is my job where I need them short and low maintenance. On the other hand, I like the 5 things rule. And to me nails rank lower in importance than a nice pair of earrings or a nice necklace. My SO dislikes nails that are too long. He sees those wearing them as lazy + flashy. Sometimes I think this forum is only seeking the flaws in women’s behaviour. Sometimes there are genuine problems in the surrounding circumstances or just things that need to be looked at without making it a big thing.

Why are we trying to put blame on someone? Why not just acknowledge that often it is less about other matters than the simple what do we eat? ? I have 50 tried and true recipes from my Home Economics classes from school. I improved o many of them, ingredient wise. I love to choose from these. Sometimes I might just cook my way through the book - or I look for bargains and skip some recipes or rearrange the order. But I always know that if my SO wants something specific that he will ask for it.

Important skills like budgeting, housekeeping, taxes etc. are not even mentioned in most schools. Here, maybe Hauptschule might have a lesson on how to talk to your Jobcenter but that is it. He can’t help that you suddenly want a secret, uncommunicated alteration to that agreement. agreed was wedding directly after his degree. That would have meant reserving a slot around 3 months ago.

is there away way you could just put the whole idea of marriage/proposal out of your mind and continue to make yourself the best version of you that you could be? Yes. I will most likely go ahead and register the start of my Ph.D - Endeavour in June, with my last name. Hyphenating after marriage will be necessary now. The gift of taking his name as my only last-name is one I can not make anymore.

Many asked for clarification: He stated the „we get married the moment I have my Masters.“ As in signing the papers. Getting married in a courthouse needs to be booked at least 6 months in advance. The deadline for this already passed in January. There are no more free slots. Here I have to give the official last name when registering my intention to do the Ph.D. , no nome de plume allowed. As it stands now with the delay, I will need to hyphenate, which we wanted to avoid. he is probably bogg…

Even if it is pricy, good knives, stable and even pots and pans and wooden stir spoons are a must. Spices are something that you need to familiarize slowly with. As for good beginner recipes, try noodle or potato salad, red beets and baked potatoes, cabbage with cheese… A good starting point are home-economics books. By our Christian dominated upbringing (all the book religions really) we have a set of morals and tabus. Men coming to orgasm is ok, necessary for reproduction.
