If someone initiates a platonic dynamic and then weeks later hits on me that's different. Many people go to the gym to relieve stress and men interrupting isn't pleasant. Personally, whenever someone hits on me at the gym I'm not interested simply because I assume I'm one of many.

Really recommend not hitting on her or anyone at the gym 9/10 of us don't like that.

Because 9/10 women don't want some dude making the gun awkward.

I agree! I'm shocked by these comments. Maybe it's an age thing? At 20 I'd of been flattered. Now? Gross. You're a bro hitting on any of us with a great ass.

This is surprising to me. When my friends and I are at the gym were there to work out and get back to life. I'm there to workout some dude hitting on you at the gym is hitting on everyone at the gym.

Out of my friend group, those of us who are there because it's part of our self care, don't want to be hit on at the gym. Those that like male validation whenever they can get it do.

TBH that was smooth. She knew she was turning you on. The boner poking - my gal pals and I aren't a fan of. In college this came up in the dorms. It's hard to articulate in written format. Trust a stranger on this.

Agree. The exception is when they look like supermodels. Natalie wasn't a model simply because her boobs were too big. She dropped out if college are freshman year. Took a bar tending job. After which she never dated anyone who wasn't an extremely successful pro football player, a hedge fund guy, a stock trader or a surgeon. It's like they could smell her to know she existed or something. Again, it got annoying.

I mentioned that. I do know my political friend is happy. Currently we talk a couple times a day. She's chatty and has no problem being overly honest on everything. 😂 He makes her unhappy she is out there.

I'm 100% positive both women were at least somewhat in the dark on what was really going on. Social media didn't exist in the 90s. My friend with the dad I'm almost positive was abusive. He was never around. A CEO travelling a lot for business, or so we were lead to believe. When your 8 and your friend says my dad's gone for a meeting you believe it. Her mother is so sweet I think it may have been denial is bliss type deal. Cellphones weren't even around yet. No Internet. So, living a semi doubl…

Even more interesting is my parents have been married 46 years. All their close friendships were formed in their mid twenties. They are all still close family friends. None of those couples have divorced. I'd think 6/6 isn't the norm. Ones a widow now but that's not a failed marriage.

He was a nice neighbor. Quiet. She was a young waitress. Both good looking. Obviously, he provided her with a nice lifestyle. She stopped working at the club. After her mom had a stroke she even moved in because she was scared to continue living alone. They never had children. Unsure what was behind that decision. My friend was working for a political campaign. It's actually how we randomly reconnected. He is a lawyer. A member of the Democratic Party. They both are political nerds. She actually…

Ohio. My parents have retired to Hilton Head Island in South Carolina. I think the socio economic environment I grew up in played/plays a big factor. For example, growing up, our neighbor on one side was a cardiologist/heart surgeon. He worked long hours. At 45 he'd never married. He ate dinner at the clubhouse restaurant a lot. He ended up falling in love and marrying one of the waitresses she was 21 years younger. This was in 99. As of 2016 they were still married. Happy? Obviously, only they …

Envious! So, Martha's Vineyard. My parents bought a home with a cigar room (which is the original name for this. My hunch is you obviously already know this), but they knocked the wall out to better see the ocean which is a shame IMO as it was the only "darker" room. Unfortunately, I can't hold my wine or liquor. I do beer tasting with my dad when I visit them down south. Craft beer is a science, and it's boomed. My dad and I go bond. I learn. I know men that drink Whiskey & Burbon the way I eat cake - moderation. I don't even like Burbon, but have enjoyed the tastings I've gone too. Some of them are $100 a glass/double shot. It's an indulgence and absolutely a hobby non alcoholics enjoy too. Whiskey rooms were "designed" as post dinner social rooms. They were designed for men in mind. However, upper class women would sometimes chose to join in too. One of my favorite rooms of the Biltmore is the "Whiskey room". IMO this is a sexy loo…

Maybe it's an age thing? I'm pretty, but I'm aware my conversation skills are what grab men and keep them interested. Men love to talk about what interests them. I'm well read enough I can carry a conversation on most topics. By nature I love to learn. As long as it isn't mathematics I am in one way or another entertained by almost any topic. I'm overly passionate about my opinions. I'm surprised men find it endearing and not obnoxious.

I could have gone with a different word choice. My friend Natalie says thing like "I love him so much he deserves to be spoiled too." As a woman, I'm thinking how the heck do you commit to an outfit the night before when you don't know tomorrow's mood.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy25/03/20 04:28 AM

Agree. Deserve is a strong word. This is a word Natalie would use. She did the clothes thing for an ex too. Unsure if her husband knows doubt he'd care. Maybe she picked it up from her mom? I've never asked. For her 35th birthday he bought her a house in the South of France. He's definitely high value. She's a catch it's just we've been good friends since junior high and she's always been vain. A hot nice rich husband did not help this.

He's also worth millions. (He dropped out of college started a company. He then sold the company 14 years later for over $48 million.) He spoils the shit out of her. Ok. I Googled. If it's Android to Apple/Apple to Android nope. If you have an iPhone there's only one way to tell if someone has read your iPhone message. Both of you must be using iMessage with iPhones, and the recipient must have read receipts activated on their iPhone. ... Turn on the Send Read Receipts toggle switch. Others now will see when you've read their iMessages. (Nov 9, 2019) I phone to I phone, messanger, and What's Up all have receipts.

At least this wasn't as deadly as Ebola bc world leaders sure weren't on top of shit. Apparently, in the US Jared Kurshner was originally in charge and told Trump it wouldn't be that big. He insisted it was in the President's best interest to ignore the hype. (Washington Post)

Umm this is a discussion sub. In your opinion should everyone agree with you? Yes. Absolutely, taking a random celebrity, and making guesses about his marriage behind closed doors off a joke ESPECIALLY when it's clear zero research was done first seems very odd to me. A weird type of witch hunt. So is someone expressing a rational thought or opinion not ok with you? Because I didn't say take this post down. I expressed a very rational thought.

People with depression deserve companionship. The same with the "underemployed". I had a great relationship with a HVM who struggled with depression. Depression had taught him empathy. To have written him off while not writing off someone with say diabetes is kinda double standard.

Sometimes it feels like this sub hunts for LVM either in the media or in their lives in order to pick them apart.

I have no interest in marriage, but isn't that the point of dating for most? It wouldn't put me off.

I dated a guy who I think was only frequently romantic because he knew what he could gain. It rubs me wrong, but isn't that how a lot of men think? They don't do it out of mere kindness. End goal. Thoughts?

Lots of people suddenly became "preppers" two weeks ago. Buying 48 rolls of toilet paper two weeks ago is self serving. Keeping 36 rolls, and say donating a package to a food shelter a tad better.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy17/03/20 07:07 PM

Agree. It hurts the poor and those on a strict budget hence a lot of elderly. Stocking up pre Corona is wise. Jumping on the bandwagon for things like toilet paper is rather self serving.

I do not do online dating. However, first date I alter my last name, up my age a year, and am super vague on my suburb. As a home owner who obviously lives alone I've always felt a bit safer. If they are nuts finding out personal info is a bit harder for them. No one has ever acted deterred when later told the truth. Thoughts?

I really need to vent: Dating three extremely HVM . Honestly, I'm shocked they all are as into me as they are. As well as, one handsome, funny, currently a mess (fresh out of a relationship) LVM. Guess, which one makes my knees weak? Guess which one I can't stop thinking about, and whom I enjoy conversation with the most? And who do you think is giving me the least attention? No attention. I am not sexually active with anyone. I do make out with them for hours - but everyone is under 42 days so …

I was cheated on, and it wasn't a one night stand. I found out because she called me when she discovered he was in a long distance relationship. What did I do? I begged him to not throw us away. Begged and pleaded. A year later, my soul still hurts from how humiliating my behavior was. Then even when I realized we wouldn't work I drug it out because I didn't want her to forgive him. He's now with her and my ego is still bruised.
