I meant air squats thank you. I never did it with a vest when I was in the Corps but I’ll see if I can buy one before Monday, and I was trying to build camaraderie

I stand corrected thank you. (I grew up in the purity culture and that was kind of a talking point that by sleeping with single women you’re still committing adulty because you’re consummating marriage and each time you have sex

In gods eyes having sex with some is being married to them. Which is why sex outside the living confines of marriage (marriage in gods eyes not our modern day definition (which is serial monagonomy) is a sin. Now most people in America who cohabitate aren’t doing so for some moral stance against American marriage but want be married in Gods eyes. (Tho there are a few)

In biblical times marriage was a cultural ceremony not a legal one. (Or at least not legal in the government is in charge sense) tho Israel was very much a theocracy

I took the point. Thanks

Based af. I also listen to the money guy show and prefer them over Ramsey Normally I spend 200 annually on liquor and that gets me 4-6 bottles. I still have 3 bottles left from last year. I def do not need a 200 bottle of anything (especially whiskey) Cognac is a little more expensive but am waiting until we buy a house to get any. I did listen to the book and I got a pdf with all the questions. I’ve also read when I say no I feel guilty (not nearly as impactful as NMMNG imo

Picture this illustration Jesus chose the most frustrating spouse for His bride. So when we say “oh but you don’t know my spouse?” Christ can say oh yes I do

Also tho all backed by the fact that he physically died for me. In the case of Old Testament believers they believed God was going to come in human form to die for them

No disagreement. I think the point the other poster was making was not to trust total randoms even under the Christian label with this. I wasn’t trying to imply that I only wanted affirmation

In the Greek and in which the NT there are 4 types of Love the NT mentions 3 of these Agape, Philo, and Eros, Agape is all encompassing love, Philo means brotherly love, and Eros romantic love

Yea I was eating fast food once a day at least 5 days a week. (I’ve stopped that) plus going out to eat at least once sometimes twice a week (which I’m still going to do I’m just going to be more conscious of what I order) I’ve cut out pop and alcohol will go back to both once I’ve lost the weight but in heavy moderation. logging what I eat is preventing me from snacking on junk food. (I’ll allow myself some once I’m down to where I want to be)

Yes I don’t think physiology is sinful. Tho it can be used in sinful ways. I think God hates all sin equally. We as humans tend to care more about a specific sin. But I do think God would love for us to focus on loving what and who He loves as much as hating what He hates

Is it wrong to have desires? That depends are the desires Godly or fleshly?Jeremiah says the heart (the flesh)is deceitful. Is it inately wrong to desire an attractive women no? Is it wrong to lust after my wife (well it’s not really lust bc she is my wife) but no it’s not wrong. I tend to view everything in moral terms (I’m working on learning how not to do that)

I read the KJV. I am in the process of ending that covert contract. Tho even the author of NMMNG says that my child still needs my care. I am learning how to make productive time for me. I actually wasn’t hung up on the premarital sex or the masutrbation issues. For me it’s learning how to balance there’s nothing wrong with me but I know I’m a sinner. I’m acknowledging the comfortable path is certain death while the unknown path may still end in death it’s also the only way to a life worth living. I’ve attempted to live by the rules I was taught and it really didn’t get me anywhere tho eventually I grew comfortable with the predictability. Man wasn’t designed for that tho.

Got it. I lifted this morning planning on taking my son with me to the gym tomorrow after I feed and Change him. I’m a head knowledge type person but I’m realizing this journey is about action not theory

Son on days I’m not able to get to the gym I’m lifting dumbells, I set up a chest and tri day, back and bi, legs and shoulders, chest and back, bis and tris (which I did today) and another legs and shoulders. I can def get to the gym one day a week so I try to do chest and back on that day. Each routine has 6 e exercises 3 sets of each exercise. I also mentioned in other comments I do plan on buying more dumbbells. So I am making an effort

Lifting at home I’m limited to 20 lb dumbells plan on buying more once some other family financial goals get settled but I do go for max amount of reps. When I do get to the gym I try to go go as heavy as I can with doing 10 to 12 reps
/r/askMRP08/04/22 02:13 PM

Um no at 150 I look emaciated I’m closer to 5’8 but shy of so I rounded down. I came out of boot camp at 160 and got told I looked too skinny. We do family meals but I do need to skip the carbs.

I wouldn’t really call myself fat overweight yes but not obese. Yes I need to lose weight but i lost most of my mixed martial arts knowledge and I think need to get that back up to be able to defend. But myself and my family. But as JJ is a year out lifting 6 days a week should get me down to 175

I do add the over head press every 3 workouts if I’m doing a full body workout or if I’m doing my 6 days lift routine I have it in one of my shoulder days. According to the mindpump podcast I can get most muscle groups just by doing bench press, dead lifts and squats than I had in about 4 other exercises. They say lifting 3 days a week is what is most doable for the average person.

Guys are definitely judged for not having standards. Tho there definitely is a stay in your lane mentality. I don’t buy into the malice intent I think both sexes are trying to gain the upper hand in sexual selection so it’s a constant (tho sometimes slow developing) back and forth. For those who don’t want to participate I understand why. But I think it’s important first to learn the rules as they are (assigning no moral value to them) and the. Deciding if one wants to participate. And while mos…

To somewhat backup your point I used to be real careful about I spoke to females (I viewed them as more delicate) now it’s as if society wants women to have it both ways be one of the guys with all of those privileges and then when convenient still be treated as the more delicate sex. I don’t think this is conscious so much as a natural evolution when people beleive the two sexes are exactly the same except for social constructs. Ah I guess I’m still thinking we need to operates as a unified entity. If I can shed this notion that would be very helpful. I learned about virtues by reading about Aristotle.
