Oh ok. Well they are definitely wrong. I have seen some examples of people accusing others of gaslighting over reddit comments, but I understand that that doesn’t make it right for me to do it.

Ok but I do think that this particular thing counts as that. Searched for the definition of it and copy pasting it here - “Gaslighting is a form of psychological abuse in which a person or group causes someone to question their own sanity, memories, or perception of reality” The person is saying that nerdy interests were “always” cool. This can be said to make someone question their memories

I would recommend that you post a screenshot of that comment. That way this subreddit can act as a collection of examples of misandry. Whenever someone asks for a proof or example of people being misandrist, we could just show posts from here

Could you send a link about this? I want to add such things to an archive I’m making

Bm here means black men. This is from a community post of a black woman focused youtube channel

I feel like what we need is a concrete number of how much more valuable a woman’s life is compared to a man according to headlines (the same comparison should also be done with children). Such a thing can easily go viral. I’m having trouble wondering about how we will calculate such a thing

I am copy pasting the post ,that they were responding to ,here- My wife (34F) made me choose between a vasectomy or no sex. I (38M) chose no sex and now she is mad. I'm not the OP, the OOP is [u/ThrowRAvasectomey] My wife and I have been married for 7 years and have a 3 year old daughter. We both agreed that we only wanted 1 child so we are good. She recentely told me to get a vasectomy because we weren't going to have any kids anymore and she wanted to stop taking birth control. She told me tha…

Is there any copy of all the content on this subreddit. If not I appeal to the mods to make one, you never know when they might ban us.

This post shows the double standards with which expressing having standards for a partner is treated based on gender. There isn’t any problem if men are told that they must lower their standards but saying the same to women is not socially acceptable. I have seen numerous examples of posts and comments similar to the given examples on this site.

I have posted this as I think that the comment is an example of women-are-wonderful effect https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Women-are-wonderful_effect

One thing I just thought of is that isn’t wrist cutting mainly done by women. Wouldn’t you call that method “inconsiderate” (because of the blood) according to this person’s logic

In this post a lesbian was complaining about getting downvoted whenever she mentioned something about her wife without also stating that she was a woman. Everybody in the comments was saying how bad it was that people assumed she was a man but barely anybody was acknowledging how fucked up it is that people in that subreddit upvote based on the commenters gender

Someone should collect all these papers and wrote a book on this topic. It seems like the best medium to spread this information

One problem I can see with the men are more likely to be assaulted statement is that women take more precautions when going outside. They are less likely to be outside their home alone at night, if they are they are more vigilant and avoid bad areas etc. I am curious to know how much the difference between the rates of being assaulted would be if we compared people who took similar amounts of precautions. Not saying that paranoia driven by sensationalistic TV programs and news, and phenomena lik…

Though to be fair this comment does have very few upvotes (in contrast with the one I had posted earlier that had somewhere around 100 upvotes)

This is a good post about male rape and shows how it was undercounted until recently https://www.reddit.com/r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates/comments/s2xorp/the_vanished_victims/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=iossmf

What bothered me the most wasn’t that such a comment had been made or even the number of upvotes but the fact that nobody corrected this person. There were comments saying that every rape victim is valid (I’m paraphrasing) etc but nobody stopped and thought “wait is that true, maybe I should google it”. They just assumed that it was true.

What this person is saying can only be the case if you define rape as only being involuntarily penetrated but the real definition of rape is much more expansive than that. Rape is any sexual activity that is done without consent. If we go by this definition, most male victims of rape had female perpetrators. https://www.cdc.gov/violenceprevention/intimatepartnerviolence/men-ipvsvandstalking.html ( I have used this source as it is from the cdc and dense in data but I want to point out that this d…
