Was clear with my expectations her driving and getting snacks/drinks. And I was buying tickets today she said sure. So no covert shit of me expecting and not speaking what I want. Another thing I need to do in life.

"She already rejected the parts of you that you wanted her to accept. You're hanging on to a person that's picking and choosing how much of your self is acceptable. " this is why i post in reddit, every now and then i get a tid bit. Something i feel, but cant articulate. When we can name behavior, feelings etc m we gain power over them, Naming brings understanding, knowledge is power. That's exactly it. I continue to set more boundaries with her, yesterday she sends a photo of her scale weight, …

Totally agree and learning boundaries, and my needs has been ongoing post divorce and reading no more mr nice guy. It seems, for now, it is easier to indentify things i do not like vs what I do want. Yes I interact with others ,getting to go to events and build connections new relationships is difficult and will take time and failure. Agreed on short end of things, and ive stopped reply to these low interest self validation type txts.

Yes they did, to nice, not masculine enough. Not enough of the right emotional tension, sex was poor(unknowm) just many things that adds up to relationships failing. Yes women play a role, but as a man its our jobs to vet them prior to marriage and never stop gaming them and become complacent and make them our world. Which is what most men do slowly over time.

yup i use chat-gpt premium for many things, you can create projects and have it ue certain resource, or focus on certain things. For instance i use corey wayne and some other dating , life style coaches for productivity and also communication .

We should do this but via self depreciation, it is not it. More of a guided and give ourselves grace for making mistakes in judgment and seeking to understand WHY we did so.

agreed its people pleasing behavior , fear of others abandoning us but int he process of chasing we abandon ourselves. Curious were you parents divorced? raised by father? I hear you and its frustrating. Theres lessons i have to learn for myself and things I have to learn about interacting with women. I go into it with that mentality.

Processing childhood trauma. Helping the child me feel secure and confident so the adult me isn't stuck in an anxious state. Bonding the emotional and intellectual sides of us so to speak.

Aa far as spending money going forward, find the best lawyer you can pay as much as you can up-front. I don't feel this can be construed as " hazard spending, " like a trip to Vegas. Other things to spend it on a high-quality therapist and start going now. Do any medical procedures you have pending ASAP, i don't think that would be hazardous spending? Pay off any of your personal debt or debt that may soon be in your name with " marital " assets".

If you have the receipt, I'd simply take it when she is not wearing it or in the shower. Stop the fuck worrying about being petty, and get your fucking house in order. The moment you gave her the 20k, from what I've watched on relationship videos by psychologists and read this a few times, please. -Your relationship with your soon-to-be ex became transactional. Understand the significance of this.

They stem from childhood trauma, people pleasing. For.me at least search those topics, and more will come up. It's finding what resonates with you. Assertiveness as well, which is confidence. Self respect self worth. It was watching a lot, find a presenter who you enjoy as well. Search those topics.

They've stopped becoming theories and more rationales at this point. Things make sense. Now I'm seeing patterns in my dad, overall family dynamics. Patterns. Surface-level discussions. Conflict avoidance. Poor emotional intelligence, etc. Thank you,he's known me 3 years now, I think, during and after my marriage. EMDR therapy I do as well. Giving the "child me" what he needs. So, the adult me can be a functioning adult.

Second decent, or start if a convo in 2 months on dating apps. The next morning, I get unmatched. Not more than 2 messages were sent by me, and she replied very well. One was getting her to qualify herself to me. The second was drawing attention to a quality I admired. That being her photo with her grandma, how she valued family. Oh well.

Mainly on my own from YouTube and a deep desire to learn why I am how I am. Things started making sense more I learned about childhood trauma. Boundaries. People pleasing conflict avoidance. These all slowly kill marriages. Also, my therapist helped clarify what I learned as I've been with him over two years now. A good book is by Oprah titled "What Happened to you"

Curious where you got to date multiple women or over what time period? I have been looking for myself for about two months now, 3 conversations, and none even replied when it got to the "what's a day or two you available?" That's excellent for you though!

So her reply was, "I will let you know once it's clearer to me. My April is packed. I will message you any day I get off early ..around 3pm. For now I'm on 11pm rotation."

" i will let you know once it's clearer to me. My April is packed. I will message you any day I get off early ..around 3pm. For now I'm on 11pm rotation.' That's why I have photos of it up front. I agree with self-improvement, but some won't be done until I'm trying to romantically interact with women and get practice. I'm going to make mistakes, miss read interactions, etc. So 2 years for teeth, then another like year of dating at the reply rate I get. Then I'm 44. I've not been finding a lot of women I'm attracted to my age. That's unlikely to change the older I get. So I'm really fucked by time here. I never thought of the woman settling for me…

Didn't think of that. This is only the 2nd conversation I've had that went anywhere. I didn't even think to ask that great. Well, everything's obvious in reflection . To me her actions said not interested, I asked her out she said no and offered no alternative.
/r/Divorce_Men06/04/25 06:46 PM
3

Agreed, and that was all i mentioned of it. I already sent a msg this morning. "Since my schedule is pretty adaptable. What's a day and time to meet that works with your schedule?" Ty for the advice. I'm trying to undo certain points of view, and interpret messages. Nor do I want to just keep guessing at what days to go out. As far as why she kept talking , she's a woman who likes to talk but not meet. Wrong as they may be thats my thought process.

When I was dating some 13 years ago i always did this. My first response when she declined was OK that's all folks. Asking again is just a "shit test" how desperate is this guy, and will he take the bait to ask me out again? After that we've failed as men. I hate the dating world to be like this, but it's literally woman's biology. What is needy is not attractive.
/r/Divorce_Men06/04/25 06:14 PM
0

Because everything I've read and listened to says if a woman is interested, she will offer an alternative day. To me, and if I'm wrong, please explain it. Asking twice regardless of the approach comes across as needy desperate. Asking twice for me has never worked. Maybe your interactions are different and thus have shipped your view.
/r/Divorce_Men06/04/25 06:11 PM

I did this TY. No reply yet, so ya she's likely not interested in more than a txt buddy or some shit.
/r/Divorce_Men06/04/25 06:08 PM

And then that day she has to work etc. I'm not pissy though and don't believe my message came off as such. If a woman wants to go put with you she will offer an alternative. I don't have a work schedule, so how would you respond? Her response to mine was very positive here... " It sounds like you’re using this time really intentionally, which I admire. Sometimes hitting pause can lead to the most meaningful progress, both personally and professionally. What kind of direction are you thinking for…

All great advice, it then comes down to where they are in the wild. I've had my head on a swivel for some 13 years now and worked in a female dominated industry. Nursing . Mine had hormone changes and a hysterectomy. Then refused to get on appropriate hormones. Testosterone, namely cuz, she trusted her doctor. Same with her thyroid. I treat my.own hormone issues so I knew how to read labs and went to female hormone groups to learn more. She didn't. She never gave a fuck about whst I knew or learned to share with her. Just chronic complaining.

Well that's a powerful statement, now you must turn inward, with a purpose..women intuitively sense these things and will turn away from it. I'm not sure what you know/don't know about woman's psychology. So if you know these things, do not take offense as it is not intended. DM abytime if you'd like to chat. I hear your frustration as I'm sure many do reading this.

A ongoing theme for me has been" what do i enjoy" what do i want out of life....and aside from my dogs video games ,and health iues [ fixing them] i've discovered really nothing...

Sounds like it worked out in some ways, I feel blessed she did not go after anything nor incur her debts on me,nor did I her.

What about when the male brings up the open marriage and female reluctantly agrees? I mean Mines done at this point, in just bored at work

It's not though. The legal system doesn't work ,apparently not everyone learns this as early as me. . I'm honestly shocked anyone at this point thinking the legal system works for anyone but the rich.

You should of learned that a long long time ago, no offense. I learned thet shit at like 18

Went to meet family and my future ex, and we explained a few things to them. It's still a strange topic. Is it unusual to stay friends? Are we just being delusional? A mutual divorce, no kids, just animals..but to us they are our kids. It's dumb but animal and some others get it.

Have to relearn "game" age old one I learned is to be indifferent, or act "as if" act as if you're gonna get thet number or date or kiss. It's all a confidence gig. Girl changes her mind on a dat best response is simply "no worries".really.

What you mean by combined finances? We have separate bank accountabilit? I'm still looking for one and work 7am to 7pm , will the attorney only makes money if we divorce... Also debating on using a lawyer to merely arbitrare and amend My prenup to state things she's said so that it's legal. Then file divorce on our own as it's 150$. Then the aspect of using one lawyer who I would insist to represent me, as he has to represent someone. As neither of us have much free cash , we're both quite broke…
/r/Divorce_Men25/02/24 07:25 PM

Sow fie and I talked, she seems open to leaving everything I have to me and to sign or amend or prenup to state such. Of course I'd run this by a lawyer. She also mentioned using the same lawyer, or my idea a paralegal to draft our documents etc.
/r/Divorce_Men22/02/24 08:52 PM
1

Ah paralegal never thought of that. ADAM wants 350$/HR. Not selling my home, but if I loose half my 401k then I'd rather put it all into home repairs vs give her half.
/r/Divorce_Men22/02/24 04:59 PM

I get that it's small relative to what it could cost me. At the same time I'm barley able to make my monthly payments as is, it'd be the pervibel" straw" Others are saying ADAM group wasn't that great so now I'm looking for second opinion. Lastly I can ask her to sign away those things, she had no issues singing the pre nup when we got hitched. Do I have more to loose by asking her to legally amend or add an additon to it?

It's all I ca n really think about now and I'm more scared than angry
/r/Divorce_Men21/02/24 10:47 PM

What about regrets, fear . Anger can be temporary but fear of the unknown...growing old alone is shit. I'm a RN and see end of life for a living. Someone who truly cares about you at that time Far outweighs any anger, well it should. And no you can't always maintain a healthy relationship , but perhaps sometimes.

Ya that's what my lawyer said

How the hell am I paying her alimony we have no kids, and she has her own job. Is she gonna pay me alimony for living with me 7 years and contributing nothing financially to my home lol Also with my debt whst money do I have to give for alimony, I would then end up worse after divorce, more so than her..

They are,but property still need sto be maintained

Found my pre nup. It seems like yes, house and equity are mine. Our debts should be separate I can post some images as it's a lot to type As far as the animals, my strategy is what show I have financial means to care for them, I have been buying their food ,vet bills, etc since their inception almost entirely. If she can't afford them how can the judge grant her ownership?

I am Tuesday

What of the ring was like 3k$, and filing taxes? She uses a CPA she pays for,but maybe married filing Seperste vs jointly and just take separate returns ? I make more than her if it matters

I plan on letting her but I'm not helping her move it out

Yes no kids thank god
/r/Divorce_Men17/02/24 09:07 PM

It was a business loan ,yes I'll find a lawyer this all sounds shitty though. Best bet seems take equity from home and pay off my debts and necessarynhome improvements so that no equity is left in home sadly.
/r/Divorce_Men15/02/24 12:55 AM
1

The fuck is rhe point of a prenuptial If the court over rides jt
/r/Divorce_Men14/02/24 08:06 PM
1

It does, but I have hardly any student debt like 4k.. the equity in the house is approx 70k. So What I'm trying to determine is how to spend rhe money and not give it back to her. I.e mandated home updates or such
/r/Divorce_Men14/02/24 06:02 PM
3

I can wait and nothings been filed, but I didn't think paying off my debts was an option, or I would ha e to repay that equity to her after it was spent paying my debt... Is that a book, or simply a concept I presume to an idea to Maintain.
/r/Divorce_Men14/02/24 05:57 PM
1

So then I should cash out the equity and use it for necessary home repairs,or items thet will bring the house upbto code, that I've put off.
/r/Divorce_Men14/02/24 05:49 PM

No kids. It was a standard prenuptial from a lawyer site, legalapers.com or something i still have to find the damn thing.
/r/Divorce_Men14/02/24 05:47 PM

How would pet ownership go down? Would I need to provide proof of ability to care for and past payment of vet bills etc? Who paid for the dogs license perhaps?
/r/Divorce_Men14/02/24 05:46 PM

Well of course
/r/Divorce_Men14/02/24 05:43 PM

She's paid nothing on the mortgage since I bought the house nor singed anything, place was bought soley.by me prior to marriage
/r/Divorce_Men14/02/24 05:27 PM

So if the government isn't going to come after me is it really my debt then
