One room is $580 / month and the other is $565 (slightly smaller room with a sorta half-closet). Electric / Heat are not included, but the apartment comes with a working dryer and a washing machine that just needs a new part, and should be working by the move-in day (Sept. 1).

Since you're giving out so much detailed advice, let me ask this question. Many Sedditors have commented that I should drop her as a friend. I knew this girl for 9 years when she had a boyfriend in the 90's, during which time we built a normal, platonic friendship with none of the bullshit that I described in my post. That all came after she broke up with her boy. Should I keep her in my life as a friend? That is, a friend who I treat much differently than I did before. Worlds differently.

I'll think this over, it's worth considering. I'll be honest, I think I can be a platonic, self-respecting friend of hers, and still take her up on some banging if this PUA stuff works like everyone says it can, and she follows me around begging for it. This woman is not your friend. Women that act this way are not a >friend. A friend wouldn't treat another person this way. She's my best friend, so I don't think I'll be dropping her from my life. I value the friendship, but if she wants it to be platonic from here on out, it will be. And I will not be around as often to listen to her problems (especially boys), I'll be out with girls, or busy in my room with one.

Unfortunately, I am past the point of doing anything to get this girl into bed anywhere in the near future. I reacted to the news with anger, resentment, and basic AFC behavior. No changing that now. I can't expect push-pull to work, now. Might have been a good idea before, but now? And, you're right about the last part. A gf, or dating several girls, would possibly cause her to begin to see me as attractive. And I'm definitely thinking by then I might not care, and honestly, that pisses me off …

I asked here once before about tips on escaping the friend zone. The best advice I read was, in a nutshell, to become unavailable because you are out doing fun things, preferabaly with attractive & fun women. I'm on my way to giving this a shot, but I would love to know if you have any more tips or ideas. And a more specific question: she has a tendency, now and then, to come on to me very strongly, but never go through with intimacy (I just don't think I should). But she has no problem touching…

I am not a PUA, just a guy reading up on it for now. May try some of it out in the future. I have a Septum ring (curved barbell) in my nose. For weeks at a time I keep it hidden by putting a retainer in the hole (I work two jobs and cannot wear it out at either one) but when I do go out to a bar or party, I like to wear it. The girls I dig love it. Problem is, at 33, I'm starting to feel a little odd wearing it. Sometimes.

I came across the PUA community via an IAMA post months ago. Since then I've been feeling around the internet, slowly acquainting myself with the community and what it teaches. In any case, I eventually mentioned to a few friends that I was reading about PUA stuff, and in ever case the reaction mirrored reddit's. Total hate and derision. Undeserved, too, in my opinion. I'm still not sure if I want to really give this a try, but I might. If I do, I will be keeping it a secret from just about ever…

Definitely am doing this. For Xmas and her recent Bday I got her very nice, thoughtful gifts that she squealed over, and took her out for a nice dinner + drinks. Can't say I don't love spending time with her and getting her nice shit. Basically it seems like I have to put everything in reverse, and do the opposite of what comes naturally right now.

No problem there. I work 75 hours a week at two jobs. But, what little time I have to spend being social is often spent with my friend. She considers me her best friend, and same here. I'll see what I can do in this regard. Should be easy enough.
