Most of mens claims about women are projections of their own behavior. They can't fathom that we don't think like they do, and it's a way to distract from their own shitty behavior by coming up with flimsy equivalencies. For example, I've known of lots of rapist men who have gotten away with it but I've never encountered a woman who has made false rape allegations let alone ruined a man's life that way. The only people I know who have made false rape allegations are men, and one is ruining the a…

FDS is the only thing that truly helped me when I decided to leave my abusive marriage. That dude ruined my life and crushed my spirit! FDS gave me the will to level up, figure out why I was in a relationship like that, and to love and value myself as I should. Despite having a seperate set of challenges, I'm so much happier now on my own. So fuck you, haters.

I just read that book last week, along with discovering her podcast and blog. She is fucking AMAZING. She's really helped me solidify my new perspective and desire for self-worth that FDS has given me. No more being strung along, no more emotionally unavailable/avoidant men!

Who the fuck keeps telling these men to "toughen up"? I just want a fucking fully-fledged adult male, that's all.

I've started cutting people and have cut guys out of my life for disrespectful behavior. It's so hard because I've been conditioned since childhood (and treated like this by men and society in general) to never stand up for myself, never have boundaries, and that my feelings do not matter. It is REALLY FUCKING HARD and I always feel guilt and doubt afterwards, but I know that listening to myself means that I won't have to tolerate abuse from another man (or anyone else for that matter). FDS has …

I've realized after many experiences and research (thanks Lundy!) that men who try to get you to feel sorry for them instead of recitfying the situation are some of the cruelest, insensitive, and quite possibly abusive men out there. They will absolutely NOT forgive you for your transgressions either. What they're saying is "I'm a victim in my mind, so I have all the reasons why YOU should be the one to give me a free pass, do all the emotional labor, and forget about it. I have no responsibilit…

Whenever they say "Huh?!" I wait a bit before I repeat myself because they probably heard, they just didn't process it. And it usually works, sadly. I also make sure I have their attention as well before I say anything. I absolutely hate repeating myself.

Yeah he's not going to feel or act on any sense of gratitude towards her. He'll just mine whatever he can get while he looks for something else.

I guess I took pointers from r/askmen that men are like compliment starved and if you show them genuine appreciation and care for them as a person they’ll do the same for you This has got to be one of the biggest lies those losers tell

This was over a decade and we've since drifted apart. She seriously thought I was the one that told, when I didn't (and I was incredibly shy at the time!). She probably said something to someone and forgot. She was very much an extrovert social butterfly type and talked a lot to everyone, so maybe she forgot in between her other blabbery lol.

Yes, a friend of mine told some coworker friends what happened between us. When someone later mentioned it she blamed them knowing on me, even though I wasn't the one running around blabbing. It was awkward to say the least.

I have no problem approaching guys and going after the ones I want, but that has been nothing but a huge mistake. They appreciate that you did it (as they all love blathering about on reddit dating subs), but they will treat you with some level of indifference because you're not what they would go through the effort of approaching. Not many men will say "no" but they'll think less of you for it.

I think FDS helps a lot with us preoccupied types so that we don't end up chasing around any more avoidants! It's tough and probably impossible to find a secure dude, but I've learned the better option is to be alone.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy23/11/20 07:31 PM

This is so true. Literally every single fucking man I've been with thought the same job or chore is somehow "easier" for me but a struggle for him. They can only think about how much easier for them to have us doing it, thus it must be easy for us! They're like narcissistic little toddlers. Even the least worst guys I knew acted like this. The context didn't even matter at all, like who was actually doing more of what.

I've heard it be described as "a shark tank full of avoidant men" so do it at your own risk. If you can stick to FDS principals you will survive but probably not find anyone lol

No. No random last minute invites. If that's all they have I'm going to take it as they're not really available for me for one reason or another, which is super important for me and should be to you!

Boomer aged women can be the worst because they grew up being forced to compete for men which were their only access to resources. It was a matter of survival. It's not like that quite so much but people can't just break those type of patterns suddenly.

This idiotic assumption that everything men are capable of offering can be gleaned from a short tinder bio and pic. It shows how shallow, empty, and stupid they are. Ugly unemployed men aren't any more capable of meeting my emotional needs as confident attractive men with good jobs.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy21/11/20 07:18 PM

So true. Women are expected to be as self sufficient and self contained as men. Probably even moreso, because MOST men do not want to do any emotional labor and to meet another's needs.

40 here, and my life is littered with examples of why FDS rules are so important. I think I've broken every one at least once and suffered the consequences, so there's reasons for them! They will protect you from a lot of bullshit men and abuse that'll waste your life. I'll still make mistakes, I'm certain, but I'm so glad I found FDS. I wish I had 20 years ago! I'm recently single and I'm trying to figure out what I want, but definitely no LVM!

It's why I wish women would quit letting men down easy like this. Just say you're not feeling it or something without lavishing praise or trying to coddle them. It doesn't help, it just makes them angrier!

I agree. A brief "thinking of you" text when you're sitting on the toilet or waiting in line at the grocery store can alleviate a lot of anxiety. It's worth the small amount of time and effort it takes.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy14/11/20 04:27 PM
19

Yeah, infrequent texting would drive me nuts because I'm a big ol anxiously attatched person, and maybe he is too. But the thing that people with my attatchment style need to get a handle on is the "protest behaviors", like ignoring her in return or lashing out. He could just communicate what he needs and then end it if she can't provide that. But you know, men and their lack of self-reflection and performing emotional labor. 🙄

What bothers me is that when I want to wake up and roll out of bed, they think that I spent tons of time carefully styling myself to look like a bed slob because that's the look I'm going for and that they need to comment on how bad of a job I did, that I really should have done XYZ instead because that's more flattering. No fuck you, I get to have off days too.

I'd do it thinking I would earn love and affection through being low maintenance and having low standards. All I learned is that they DON'T appreciate shit, and things will just get worse for you. Rip the band-aid off now before some undeserving LVM wastes years of your life!

From what I've learned, men with avoidant attachment styles will have a "phantom ex" who they look back fondly on as the one who got away and to whom no one else will compare to. But in reality she and/or the relationship was probably not that great, but they hold onto it to keep you at a distance. A way to make you out to seem less amazing in comparison even if it's bullshit. Avoidant attachment style is close to narcissism.

I've realized I have an anxious attatchment style and I've been doing a lot of research on it (SO SHOULD EVERYONE!!!!) and I've learned that while I need to do my own work and get a grip on it, I DO NOT need to be ashamed for having to ask for and get my needs met. If someone can't fulfill those, then bye bye!! No more suffering avoidant men!! And FDS has helped support me in this, and realizing that it's better to be by myself because it's more painful to be with someone that's shitty for me.

I have a male friend of 10 years with whom I recently had a major falling out. I used to have absolutely NO boundaries and would quietly suffer when people trampled them, but I'm not doing that anymore because it's gotten me in some awful situations and relationships. He had a particular tendency, that while it confused me and hurt my feelings, it wasn't seemingly overtly awful. I figured that asking him to not do it wouldn't be a big deal. He started doing it the other day and I got pretty anno…

This is something I struggle with. I have no idea how to really fix it. I feel like I'm really all-or-nothing and it sucks. I definitely have a lot of attatchment damage - I should be able to find a therapist who does interpersonal therapy in a couple of months, which is my plan. But I'm afraid right now that I'll never be able to date with a clear head, at the same time I'm feeling really lonely and uncared for which makes me super vulnerable. It just feels painful no matter what I do.

The goth/industrial scene is full of rapists. I'm ok with most of the women I meet there, but too many of the men are straight up predators and abusers even if they're seemingly passive types or act cutesy. We had one guy in a city I lived in that threw parties in his big house (he was a millionaire) who turned out to be a serial rapist who drugged and raped A LOT of women in the scene. An article written when he was finally caught described some gruesome stuff. Only then could several women tha…

I know way too many "child free" men who won't even bother getting a vasectomy. It's the easiest quickest least-painful effective birth control and they still just won't do it. And over time it's probably the least expensive. They won't even try to find a doctor that will do it. And then they cry about "spermjacking".

A long time ago I was in for a week after a suicide attempt (ugh yeah I know), and the fact that it was mixed gender blew my fucking mind. Most men struggle to rein in their sexually exploitive thoughts/behaviors, but a room full of mentally ill men who may or may not even realize what they're doing is just straight up dangerous for women. Granted, I made a couple of male friends in there who were perfectly nice and respectful, but that didn't negate the threat of possible assault from the other…

Imagine haranguing someone to prove themselves in case they aren't as attractive as they presented online, as if this is as important and on par with the sort of thing women have to worry about with men who misrepresent themselves. Showing up to a date and walking away, maybe wasting an hour or two of your time at worst, because the person is overweight or older isn't nearly the pressing issue as not finding out what an abusive POS a man is until it's too late. I think a lot of it is that if a woman is actively dating then men and pickmes think must be she's eager to get married NOW, and that vetting and staying single otherwise isn't an option. It's the perception that the problem isn't that most men are trash (and face it, 98% of men who are out there dating aren't at all monogamy/marriage minded), it's that she's just too addle-brained to just grab whatever dude for the job. As if women are all born master manipulators who read minds and use it to hurt poor helpless boy fee-fees for no reason. Meanwhile, rapist abusive men are sad bumbling little boys who don't know any better. Even adults in their fucking 50s and 60s think like this, not just the incels that accuse women of this…

I did everything wrong and got what was coming to me, essentially. If having some abusive man-child ruining your life is desirable and good then call me a heretical miscreant. I'd rather be marked and burned as a witch, thanks. But joking aside, my mind is constantly blown that all of this shit is considered NORMAL. Male mistreatment against women is expected - wanting differently is considered just being a difficult woman, and tolerating and even enjoying it is virtuous. I don't want to deal wi…

He had such a victim mentality that he seemed to think it was okay - it's as if he was thinking "Someone might use me for my money, so it's ok if I drain hers. Her meager finances aren't nearly as important as mine!" At least it felt that way. I find this to be true of a lot of men, and why men who play victim are often the most dangerous. They're usually projecting their own bad intentions onto women to excuse their abusive behavior.

Thanks, I really appreciate the support! It means so much to me. Without kind words and understanding like yours, I don't think I would have survived this far and realized my own worth. This is the situation that most female DV perpetrators find themselves in. Just ask our friend Lundy! Male and female perpetrators are for the most part NOT the same. For those women that need to level up past these LV games - male abusers can and will use mandatory arrest DV laws to their advantage, and you need to keep that in mind. As shitty as the current social climate regarding that topic is, it has been at least incredibly revelatory regarding male perceptions of women and sex. I don't know a woman who can't clock 99.9999% of them, but men struggle with it to the point that "gay panic" is an excuse to get away with murder. And it's obvious that the ones transitioning share the same sentiments about women since they all think they pass, and have fucking meltdowns if someone suggests (intentionally or even unintentionall…

I didn't realize how many women are so completely stupid to believe "we're having issues and she's leaving me" is a legitimate story. No, it's more like he's an abusive piece of crap and it's entirely up to him whether the relationship is healed or not - instead he's using it as an opportunity to fuck other women. In these situations he's most likely lying, and the least worst scenerio is that he's not over it and has tons of baggage. When it comes to sex and emotions men feel as though it's acc…

They don't think like we do. Men subconsciously think that even if you dumped the mfer right away, that your male partners behavior is somehow your responsibility and that it's what you're willing to put up with. I agree. Men are already impulsive, self centered, and solipsistic. It takes them a lot of work and even a good upbringing to pull them out of their natural tendencies. Thrown in a mental health issue and not only do they suffer because they rarely address it or cease treatments, but they'll also make you do the brunt of the work because they don't want to - instead of getting himself help, he waits until you're exhausted and not in the position to drop everything and take care of the problem fo…

I have to admit that my best friend in the world is a guy who I dated for a year 20 years ago. We stayed friends and we've got a sibling like relationship, at least that's what men I've dated say after meeting him and seeing us interact. The chance of anything sexual happening is zero, we've already established that neither of us is interested a long time ago. That being said, he's had a girlfriend or two feel uncomfortable about it at first and quite frankly I don't blame them as most men are s…

As long as that woman isn't a giant pickme. Women make by far better room-mates until they let their creepy male family members, friends, and boyfriend's into the house who almost all inevitably violate your privacy and property. Rummaging through my belongings and reading my journals, coming in to my room to steal cigarettes, and quietly walking in my room late at night watching while I was having sex was only the tip of the iceberg. My ex-bf of 5 years was going to rope me into that situation. He came to me complaining about an older female coworker (that he hated) saying how charging a girlfriend rent to pay the boyfriend's mortgage is shitty because you're putting equity in the home that you'll never see. He was so insulted! Funnily enough, he WOULD NOT do anything at all around the house such as housework including things like finding someone to hire to mow our lawn. And I was paying 50% of everything for the privilege!

AA isn't for everyone. I prefer SMART since they are more positive and evidence-based and use therapeutic techniques to help yourself. Like all men, your friend is projecting his insecurities all over you. He cannot understand the nuance of your views because he's stuck on his own presumptions. This is why it's better to look to other women for advice. Men aren't ever really asked to be nice and take in the viewpoints of others (unless to play "Devil's Advocate", of course) so it doesn't occur to them to do so.

Domestic violence laws are written to patronize the victim, whether it be police discretion or mandatory arrest laws. It also makes the victim afraid to call because of the consequences. There is also a trend for abusers misusing DV laws to send the victim to jail. Someone involved in a case stated that most DV cases should be handled by social services rather than police and the courts, and having had to deal with it myself I tend to agree.

I feel the same way sometimes about the sub but I don't take it personally. I'm just really happy that there are so many confident young women out there who aren't taking this shit anymore. I'm not young, not very attractive, or high value but I'm not trying to date, just working on getting out of a shitty marriage and working on my own issues, and this sub is helping me stay sane through it. I now know that the things men have done to me are universal problems women face and that I'm not alone …

It's true, I wouldn't. He was the type to also convince me he shouldn't have to pay either. He had me paying (with my money that I earned at my job and received help from no one) for all of his food and drink and entertainment for a few years all because he refused to get a job and his dad (who managed his trust and sent money for his rent and bills) was getting mad at him. Having a child live with you and taking care of it costs much more than a measly $400/month. Childcare, missing work, just the day to day shit that happens adds up quickly. Not to mention the social implications of having a kid around full time, you can't go out on dates, spend time with friends, or indulge in your hobbies willy-nilly anymore. One of the biggest pickmes I know is probably a sociopath. Even her close friends seem to think so. She's an ex of an ex I dated in those dark days of making really bad choices, and he was completely obsessed with her. In a conversation I found he had with her, he's telling her that I feel uncomfortable with their "friendship" (him obsessively trying to flatter and fawn and gain her attention/approval) and she derisively called me "one of those real girls who dream of rings and weddings". She ha…

I don't buy it in the slightest either. Uncircumcised men seemed to fare no better or worse than circumcised. Look at all the two pump chumps with cut dicks. Dudes have little problems unless they have a medical condition, or of course porn/deathgrip induced ED which is a major problem of late; they're not whining about that though. It's just this weird idea that they have to maximize the potential amount of sensation in their dicks as if they don't get enough from it already, it's never enough.…

I've never understood this thinking. Reddit seems to think it's more than acceptable to charge your significant other market rent to live in a place that you own. I had an ex that was a trust fund brat, he was going to have a house purchased for him with the money he inherited. Of course he was going to have me pay %50 of the mortgage even though my name wouldn't be on it and we weren't married. Somehow that just feels so fucking slimy to me. I had a coworker with several children. She was always bragging about how she'd stop her teenage girls at the door before they left the house in too revealing outfits because otherwise they'd just end up pregnant. The last I heard from her, she was busy babysitting her 2 grandkids that her eldest son fathered by the age of 19 by two different girls. With boys you have to worry about them knocking up the whole block and they absolutely do not want to care for their own children.

One thing I've realized after working as a nursing assistant is that pink collar jobs tend to scrutinize their licenced workers; you will lose your licence or not be able to get licencing if you've even been arrested (not even convicted) for committing any drug/dui/dv/sexual assault offenses. Offenses that are swept under the rug for male-coded jobs you've listed above even though in theory the community expects a lot of trustworthiness and dependability from them. Even doctors can get away with…

Maybe the women who participate in the industry are self selecting, and the ones that are fine with patriarchal bullshit are happy to go along with shitty treatment at the hands of men and take shitty scripts. He supports a lot of highly misogynistic ideas. One of which is that if all these angry incels were issued hot teenaged girls there wouldn't be any problems with them shooting up schools. That "forced monogamy" should be a thing so that every gross man gets his peepee diddled. I think you ladies who are saying JP isn't sexist need to look a little deeper, or you have your own issues if you think what he says is ok at all because his sexism is pretty blatant.

Depression has an entire set of additional symptoms other than "selfishly not having to do anything I don't want to do". I'd never believe or offer pity to a dude with self diagnosed "anxiety" or "depression"; if it's so bad and important that you're acting like an asshole then go see a doctor. Not having any girl-friends to turn to when you're young and going through this kind of shit is the worst. I wish I were around women who would empathize but give me a wake-up call instead of suffering through horrible bullshit at the hands of dudes. Instead I just got blank looks or indifference. They cry about their religion making people "freak out" like they're some kind of edgelord by following a very mainstream (in fact dominant religion in western culture) thousands year old belief system. In my experience, men who make the biggest deal about "golddiggers" are the most likely to put a woman in a position where she is having to pay for everything. They don't want halvsies, they want to be taken care of but they aren't going to just come out and say that. "Equality" to a man is having the unfair advantage.

I honestly wonder what is wrong with these people. Even adult children want their parents love and approval to some degree, and these idiots throw it away for what? How can you act like the people you created aren't good enough? Most cultures praise parental love for their offspring while ignoring how powerful of a force filial love is, and many people are often shit all over by their parents while children are accused of being selfish or cruel. Parents are supposed to be the people you love and…

I'm talking out of my ass here but I may as well make a few guesses. There's a chance he's been in contact with his ex and he's in a fantasy world where they're totally going to get back together. In the meantime, he's entertaining himself with you. As with most dudes like this, his big important bruised ego fee-fees about his previous relationship (no matter how over it is) take precedence over your need to be treated with respect.
