“Do you feel held by him? Does he feel like home to you?”

That one line shook me. Like, literally, my jaw dropped wide open in the theatre from the truth of it. My bad breakups of the past flashed before my eyes in that brief moment and I knew they were doomed almost from the beginning. I don’t often take advice from horror movies, but I now know that ANY relationship is over when you can’t honestly answer yes to those two simple questions.

I watched this and have mixed feelings on it. However, I did thoroughly enjoy Reddit movie males having an absolute shit fit over it. If the genders were reversed they would absolutely sympathize with the main character, but what happened towards the end provided them the opportunity to pound on about something they literally do not care about when it happens to women.

Yess it's a great movie.

Funny how with movies like this and gone girl, I've seen men be like what a crazy bitch, but women identifying more with the story and the protagonist. I don't understand how all some people got out of midsommar was that it's a crazy ritual.

I loved Midsommar, I’ve watched it twice now! There are some parts of it that are more disturbing than any horror movie I’ve seen (if you’ve seen it, you’ll know what I’m referring to) but I absolutely loved it and at the end thought to myself “good for her” 😂😂

I watched this stoned after having my heart completely broken by an LVM and it changed my life. I’m so happy a horror genius realized toxic relationships are the most terrifying thing of all.

Another scene that struck me was the heavy crying scene towards the end with all the women surrounding her, crying with her. I thought that was so beautiful; that despite the horror of this cult, the bond and support amongst the women was amazing.

Hmmm. I never got a chance to watch Midsommar fully. All i ever saw of it was the creepy ending where they stuffed the dude in a bear and set people on fire. I worked in a theater and never thought to see it. This makes me want to see it. A lot.

This movie is worth the few scenes of icky/gore. I'm bad with gore but I didn't even care- LOVED this movie. My reaction to the end was similar to the VVitch... just a "good for her" a la Lucille Bluth.
