I think people who become radicalised to the point where they are abusive need to be accountable for it rather than being excused by saying they were driven to radicalisation because of society etc. Regardless, what is done is done. Women should definitely be very cautious of men. In South Korea, the "Four No's" movement is very strong there among women (no dating, no marriage, no sex, no children). I am surprised that this movement is not strong among women in the West.

Chances are you are in a conservative echo chamber because of the algorithms on social media. Misogyny is very common among conservatives and their echo chamber. I think definitely women and especially young women should be very cautious around men and consider going WGTOW to protect themselves. At all times they need to ensure that they are independent and never give up that independence no matter what. The moment they give up their independence to another person, they will be abused. All diffe…

Basically life will naturally form a hierarchy and within this hierarchy there will be suffering. The only way to eliminate all suffering is to gradually depopulate life.

I also just haven’t seen any sign that women see a man’s virginity as some kind of desireable trait, so it makes sense they wouldn’t try to preserve it themselves. That's basically the argument OP made in reverse. There is no sign men see a woman's virginity as some kind of desirable trait, so it makes sense they wouldn't try to preserve it themselves.

I personally agree. I was thinking of being a passport bro and go overseas to find a woman, but supposedly women overseas are very traditional, which is not what I want. Why pay 100% for a traditional woman when I can go for an egalitarian woman and get 50% off?

My point is that genes are not everything. People change their views when they learn new information. The two sides of the political spectrum can hold different policy positions over time as the specific politics of a country evolves, but if we look at conservatives vs liberals, generally conservatives are anti-contraception and tend to procreate more. Yet over time many societies have become less conservative eg many countries allow women to vote and allow them to drive etc (not all). In the pa…

I would argue that learning to settle helps one develop critical thinking skills that help people understand what is actually important to them, out of many things, and teaches them how to prioritize these things that are important. You can use the same argument for not settling ie not settling means you understand that having a good partner is important to you, you have the critical thinking skills to go against the mainstream view that you cannot be alone, and you prioritise those characterist…

It's a competition among the different options. A woman or man who is afraid of being alone may need to settle, but a woman or man who is not afraid of being alone does not need to settle.
/r/PurplePillDebate25/03/24 10:37 AM

You're missing the point. The point is that there is no need to settle if you don't care about being single.

Political views often aren't genetic. If it were, we'd expect to see opposition to contraception grow over time because those who are anti-contraception will breed a lot and spread their anti-contraception views genetically to their kids whereas the pro-contraception people will have fewer babies and over time the pro-contraception gene will die out. However, in reality, the opposite happened. Over time opposition to contraception e.g. condoms etc decreases over time. E.g. today only 7% of Ameri…

At this rate, a man could simply stop all this expenditure, live in a box, and opt for hookups with escorts costing $900-$2000, or get a sugar baby for $8k-10K. Are you costing escorts at $900 to $2000 per month? That is insane. The market rate is about $200 per hour, so let's say you have sex twice a month, that should be $400 per month. If you're still feeling very sexually aroused, just masturbate more, which costs nothing. I also think you are wasting an extreme amount of money chasing women…

I don't see what the big deal is. They are just young girls having fun and having a good time. Even if they don't conform to "femininity" and act how tradition men want them to ie be doormats to men, isn't this a good thing? Women who are too submissive to men are more vulnerable to abuse. Women should be more more assertive and confident and know what they want.

I think one of the reasons why people don't have kids is because they interfere with work, and even if there is maternity leave, many people view those who take maternity or paternity leave as leeches. Their own gets palmed off on others who have to pick up the slack. Also many people are using maternity leave as a way to effectively get paid for doing nothing.

If the costs of Action A are estimated to be greater than the benefits of Action A, the winning move is to not engage in Action A, to not even try. This doesn't make the person a loser but rather makes them rational.

What do they deserve? Do they deserve not passing on their genes as punishment because passing on genes is virtuous? Or do these deserve the benefits that come from not having children as a reward e.g. more money?

I mean what did you expect? A subreddit about gardening or travel? There are already subreddits on gardening and travel. Being in a relationship is a social norm, so there is pressure from society to conform. The MGTOW or WGTOW subreddits I imagine can serve to encourage someone to keep walking along their path when society is telling them to take another path.

If submission is bad for men then it's bad for women as well. Gender makes no difference. Obviously if anyone is submissive, they will be taken advantage of, so unless someone wants to be taken advantage of, they need to take steps to increase their power, wealth, education etc.

Ironically, once you stop chasing women you begin to draw their interest naturally without effort Everything sounds good except when you say this. Then it sounds like all this is done just because you're trying to attract women. The whole thing lacks credibility because you're just pretending not to like women just so you can attract women. My observation is that it is mostly women who want a traditional relationship whereas men just want cheap sex. Women often try to find traditional men because they don't need to do much, stay home rather than work, and get paid for it. Men are often sex starved and so give in to these demands and become traditional. However, with the rise of porn and sex work legalisation in many countries, this gives power to men who can cheaply satiate their sexual desires. Hence women are more desperate and t…

A traditional model where the man is a provider and a woman stays at home looking after a child in a large suburban home is simply financially reckless nowadays. If you have any idea how to manage your finances, it is better to have two incomes and fewer children or none at all. The bucket is less likely to run dry when there is more water coming in and less leaking out.

The other is working out for yourself, growing for yourself, doing for yourself. Yes but for women. Hence the "the women will follow" comment. Also I don't think women will necessarily follow if a man follows his dreams and ambitions. For example, suppose a man's dream is to work hard to save up just enough to be able to retire early and spend the rest of his life playing video games in his mother's basement. Maybe some women would like this, but mainstream female opinion is this guy is a loser.…

Sure there are many highly skilled immigrants, but if you're looking to attract someone based on your income then this is more likely to be successful if you look for someone poor.
/r/PurplePillDebate14/10/23 12:03 AM

I wonder if the solution is to warn more women. The main problem is the bait and switch problem eg the woman married a man thinking he is a gentleman when real he just wants to have rough sex with her. Women can be educated to be more wary and to consider being single. At the moment very many women seem to be obsessed with marriage and having a family when really such pursuits can be high risk can lead to abuse.

Yes but why travel to find the date when the date can travel to find you? It's easier. One obvious benefit is the hypergamy. So say you live in a developed country. A date may only want to be with someone with salary over $100k per year. She or he may be earning similar amounts. However someone from a poor country may be earning $20k per year and is happy if you are earning $50k. If course this doesn't work for rich immigrants.

I do not think it is about liberal vs conservatism as much as it is about economic development. Economic development seems to lead to lower birthrates. Korea, China and Japan are all economically developed but are all conservative countries where the expectation is that women are caregivers and men are the breadwinners. Yet in these countries the birthrate is very low. The same applies to UAE and Qatar which are all highly conservative yet have low birthrate. The common thread among all these pl…

It depends on whether genes and parents make much of a difference to someone's values. A child growing up is influenced not just by genes and parents but also by their friends, news, social media, internet, books, teachers etc.

I don't believe in this idea that it is a choice because studies show that the amount of babies that women have is lower than the amount they want, so clearly this is not a matter of choice. There are barriers that are causing a gap between actual and desired children. Money is one but it is not just money. Another is time. If people work more to earn more to pay for a higher cost of living, then they don't have time to have kids. Something else that may be causing people to have less babies is …

Kids don't make you poor. Lack of income makes you poor. This is a false dichotomy fallacy. It is not either-or. Both kids and low income make you poorer. Kids do make you poorer because they are expensive. Lack of income also makes you poor. It's a contributing factor, but not a causal one. It is causal because kids cause an increase in expenses and an increase in expenses causes you to be poorer. Hence kids cause you to be poorer. And don't kid yourself, even the nice retirement homes are awfu…

I'd go with the 30+ year old woman. It's nice to have sex with a young woman, but if you pay her rent, food, and shopping, that could be about 2000 USD per month. Imagine how many young sex workers you can visit with that money. Nowadays women should be expected to work for themselves and pay for themselves rather than leech off men.

Indeed many people have pets to cuddle and got company but they don't need animals. But the same can be said about human children. Most people want a baby to cuddle and they want a connection, and you definitely don't need children.

They have a menagerie of pets to "make up" for not having kids. What's wrong with having pets? Can't we blame mothers for having a menagerie of babies to "make up" for not having pets? Men and women can get lots of satisfaction and contentment from their pets.

Rising cost of living is happening just about everywhere. A woman having a job and education is better off because she is can earn more to be able to keep up with the high cost of living. The assumption here is that all women want to be girl boss feminists when they are young and then after 30 then suddenly want to become mothers. If we want to value cleaning more, women need to stop giving away their labour for free. Also technology does make life easier. Cleaning a home is now very easy if you use e.g. vacuum cleaners. Prevention is better than cure, so if you have a small home or apartment and use technology such as a vasectomy…

So I am saying that what OP said is women's work such as cleaning or cooking is useless. I do not think cleaning or cooking is women's work. I think women should not be cooking and cleaning because they are low value work that can be done by machines or have been devalued because of technology eg robot vacuum cleaners. I'm not saying there is anything wrong with a man who wants to give his money to his wife and kids and work forever. What I mean is that gender equality gives men an option to not be a provider if they don't want to be one. Not every man wants to hand over money to the wife and kids. Many men want to split things equally or they may not want to have kids so that they can retire early. Also people who use the inflation argument forget the are developing countries with high inflation but the men t…

If there is gender equality, there is less social pressure on men to be the provider. If a man wants to give money to the woman, that's his choice, but there are many men who don't like being providers. They want to have financial independence and financial freedom. Declining fertility rate is not necessarily negative. A smaller population can lead to a decrease in competition for jobs, which can improve job security and working conditions for workers. A smaller population can lead to less crowded living conditions, which can improve the quality of life for individuals. With fewer people to compete with for resources and space, individuals may experience less stress, more social support, and a greater sense of community.

The assumption here is that a high value man is one who can raise children, but the price of everything has gone up considerably, so having children is becoming less and less affordable. There are finite natural resources such as land, fossil fuels, certain metals etc and with exponential population growth over finite resources, it is inevitable that prices will go up, which makes having children more expensive. The solution is to have fewer children or none at all.

There is a balance between motherhood and independence. Motherhood reduces independence. That many mothers end up in domestic violence suggest that they lean towards motherhood too much. If women are traditional and submit to a man, the woman is more vulnerable to predatory men. A traditional system relies on men having integrity etc. Once that trust is gone, it is better for women to be independent and stand up for herself. This way of she suspects the man is trying to do something manipulative or deceptive, she can walk away and not worry because she has her own job, money etc.

I spoke about the concept in the post below but basically it is that manospherean ideas may have the opposite effect in that instead on attracting women and making them highly compliant, as these ideas spread, women become more cautious and as a result they withdraw themselves and go WGTOW. This then makes it much harder for men to get women because there is a huge scarcity of women as many have taken themselves off the market. The irony is that men trying to make themselves artificially scarce …

I'd rather have actual money in my bank account than rely on my spouse to give me money regularly. If someone is paying you regularly then you are in their pocket because they have the power to not pay you. This I think is why many opt for divorce instead.

I agree. More people need to be more assertive in stating they don't want a stay at home spouse. I certainty don't want my spouse just staying at home. Many women have expressed to me that they would be disgusted by a stay at home husband so I think more men should be open about their disgust with stay at home wives. This should help promote equitable outcomes and prevent divorce.

What you describe is a traditional lifestyle. Under a traditional life, the man is a wage slave or breadwinner and the woman cooks and cleans and looks after the children. But such a system disadvantages both men and women. It disadvantages men because he becomes a wage slave. It disadvantages women because they become financially dependent on the man and have no freedom and are vulnerable to physical and sexual abuse. So both men and women lose under traditional relationships, and I think both …

I've noticed too that people in real life and online can be quite different. It highlights the importance of being cautious, being independent and autonomous, and focusing on your own career and education. The traditional system whereby the man is the breadwinner and the woman is a docile housewife is actually very risky because there is so much trust that is needed, and with people behaving differently online and in real life, it is hard to trust anyone other than yourself.

But people can sometimes build their lifestyles around a good paying job. Meaning a lot of expenses are supported by a specific pay check amount. If that job goes by by, and you can't get another easily, that can be a major major set back in life. Same applies to relationships. of course the company can....they can throw you away anytime they want. they treat their workers like trash. I'm not sure what artificial wombs would do. Say someone wants a child. They can pay a machine to make one but then they will need to look after it. Most people don't want to be a single parent. An artificial womb seems like a more expensive way to become a single parent.

Sure, I agree that being a traditional woman is a poor choice and very dangerous. However, if a woman chooses to do so, surely she should be protected rather than be vulnerable to abuse. Men who willingly choose to become traditional breadwinners also need to accept the high costs as well as the risk. For a man, being a breadwinner is a huge impediment to financial independence.

Agree. I cannot imagine any man wanting to be a single father and stay home and look after it. Most men are too ashamed to be a househusband because it seems unmasculine, so I doubt they will pay huge amounts of money on adoption, surrogacy or artificial womb to become single fathers. Most men only have kids because they want sex with a woman. Giving a woman kids is the price most men pay to secure reliable and consistent sex.

I believed that most women want kids, so maybe I'll need to revise my views or lie. But it didn't feel right to lie, and the more I looked into antinatalism, the more I found it hard to revise, so I realised I'd have to make a trade-off between being authentic and being my true self versus being attractive. But as someone else has…

Women getting used for sex is a sign that they should become sex workers. I've been looking on Twitter recently and there are many sex workers who make money through OnlyFans and also work the odd shift here and there at a brothel. For example, a nearby brothel is Collingwood Confidential, and there are many sex workers who have Twitter accounts and OnlyFan accounts who are able to build up many regular clients and have sex with them in the brothel. It makes sense that women make money from sex.…

What if you have a view that is very controversial. For example, I am an antinatalist and I have recently developed the courage to talk about this to women I date. I find many women are not too bothered with antinatalism, so that is encouraging. However, lately I am also leaning towards the philosophy of efilism, which suggests that it may be good to "press the red button" i.e. destroy the world in order to reduce suffering, but this is a view that may be too extreme for many, and I don't think …

It's called "recanalization" and is highly unlikely. However, it does happen. Regardless, even though there is a small chance of failure, vasectomy is the most effective contraception for a male. It is much more effective than using a condom.

Pollution can be solved by technology, not by demographic contraction. Pollution could be solved by technology. However, pollution may not be solved by technology. Technology can fail. Technology may even make problems worse. For example, self-driving cars may become so convenient that everyone uses them instead of public transport, which increases pollution. If you think technology will solve all problems then why don't you think it will solve what you think is a problem i.e. lower fertility ra…

The benefit of using sperm from a sperm bank is that you can have kids when you are ready for it. Many people have kids because they accidentally got one and then they have money problems. It's better to save up the money first and then have the kid. Or if you want to retire early, just don't have kids.
/r/PurplePillDebate17/02/22 02:44 PM

And cleaning, preparing food is as hard as any other normal job. Rather than working for a man and getting paid nothing, if a woman feels the need to cook, clean or look after kids, she should be a chef, cleaner, or a childcare worker and get paid for it. It makes no sense for a woman to just get paid nothing for these jobs and then become financially dependent on the man.
/r/PurplePillDebate17/02/22 02:40 PM

I definitely don't want to be with a traditional woman mainly because I don't want children.
/r/PurplePillDebate17/02/22 11:41 AM

Do you think looking after kids, shopping, and preparing food is hard? I don't think it is. Maybe looking after very badly behaving kids is hard, but shopping and cooking is not hard. In fact, shopping and cooking is fun for a lot of people.

He is 20, which is not that young. He is an adult. Also if he suspects he might change his mind, he can always preserve his sperm in a sperm bank. If he is sure that he definitely doesn't want children, he shouldn't bother with the cost of the sperm bank.

I think you should do it. Get a vasectomy right now. If you go to the childfree subreddit, you'll see they have a list of childfree-friendly doctors that perform vasectomies without any questions asked. Hopefully you live in one of those areas I got a vasectomy about four months ago but I wish I did it sooner. I didn't get a vasectomy in my twenties because I was worried about the pain and because I didn't think I'd need it because I didn't date many women and didn't have sex too often. When I t…

It's possible to reject feminism and femininity at the same time. Feminism is about giving women more political power whereas femininity is about how an individual behaves. Someone may want to reduce female political power but at the same time may want to behave in a masculine way.
/r/PurplePillDebate15/02/22 01:51 PM

The societies growing most dont have the best track records of women's rights If we wish to increase feminism around the world, once easy way to do it while solving the ageing population problem is through immigration. If there is a country with high fertility but low feminism then they can be bought into a low fertility but high feminism country. This helps to alleviate the ageing population problem by proving more workers, perhaps even age care workers etc, and at the same time these immigrant…
/r/PurplePillDebate12/01/22 10:16 AM

Do we really need a huge restructure to fix the ageing population? Why not just reduce government spending and increase taxes and do so gradually? Alternatively wouldn't money printing work? Printing money to pay for age care costs, with the costs effectively paid for by inflation.

Get a prenup. Divorce can harm women too if a woman is wealthy and marries a poor man.
/r/PurplePillDebate03/01/22 12:23 PM

The thing is that ANY woman can turn into this. Indeed women can do this. But it happens the other way around as well. Men can cheat and leave. What is worst about traditional relationships is that when things go wrong, there is usually more harm e.g. what happens to the kids? Also traditional women who stay at home would have no jobs and no money after a divorce, so they would struggle. A non-traditional relationship is much safer because both the man and woman are more equal and more independe…

Muslim women are more promiscuous than Muslim men That backs up her point. Even if you're a man surrounded by promiscuous women, if you are traditional and follow the Bible then you as a man should not have sex before marriage.

You see, this would be a good point, but in my experience, the same people who ask this tend to get extremely offended when you ask if women are willing to hold up their end of the bargain. The problem is that for women, being a traditional housewife is quite dangerous because she is financially dependent on the man. What if the man cheats on her or becomes abusive?

I'm not a traditional man. I would consider myself more "leftist." Something I don't understand why any man would want to be "traditional." For example, as OP correctly points out, you will need to work long hours and give all or most of your money to your wife and kids. You are also expected to protect your wife and kids, which basically means you are a volunteer bodyguard. So you end up working your ass off only to give all your money away to someone and you need to be her volunteer bodyguard.…

The world was close to a nuclear war in 1983 when a nuclear missile was almost launched. Now that many government have nuclear weapons, one attack would inevitably see counterattacks so that many nuclear weapons would be fired all over the world. Those that survive the blasts would need to contend with "nuclear winter." The black smoke from nuclear blasts would settle in the atmosphere and block the sun, preventing plants from growing, leading to mass starvation.

As far as the environment goes, all it will really take is bad chemistry on industrial scales to do the trick. A tenth of the pop can still do that just fine (or, you know, not fine.) It comes down to how effective social institutions and education are, quality of life correlates to an emphasis on freedom of expression and (generally) action, etcetera. Of course I totally agree. Problem is that raising kids is expensive and you'll have a lot less money in your old age if you have kids. This means you'll likely end up in a government run nursing home if you're poor. I've visited government nursing home and most of them have kids. If you're rich then you are able to afford to live in a retirement village where you get your own unit to live in and also access to nurses etc.

These immigrants typically live a pretty poor standard of living, and they typically don't reap any benefits in the next generation. Their kids do. The parents usually just get thrown into a nursing home.

SAHM fantasy But doesn't being a stay-at-home wife require lots of money from the man? If a woman does not work, then the man must earn more, so to want to be a stay at home wife is to want more money. It's like saying you want a partner to give you a Ferrari but you don't want the money. You just want the Ferrari because you are a Ferrari enthusiast. However, Ferraris are very expensive and so wanting someone who can provide a Ferrari is pretty much the same as wanting a spouse who is rich.

Yes it's for things like work. You need to work to pay the bills and if something society deems bad can get you fired, it makes sense to hide it. Once you have enough to retire, you can be more open about it.

Undesirable to most women. Depends who the audience is. This is why I suggest hiding the sex bot. The reality is that to get along with society you have to be politically correct ie you cannot offend everyone. I have no issues with being politically correct. Why is immigration a ponzi scheme? Movement of people across borders has been happening since the beginning of human history across all sorts of borders. Even within countries there is movement of people eg from New York to LA, so why is movement of people across a border a ponzi scheme? /r/PurplePillDebate26/09/21 12:10 PM

Like I said, higher taxes and lower spending is the solution. If this is unpopular with voters then money printing does the same thing. Money printing raises cost of living, so that means it becomes more important than ever to work more rather than have kids.
/r/PurplePillDebate26/09/21 12:08 PM

No the guy can just set this up by himself without showing anyone. It's like how many guys visit brothels by themselves. I personally have visited brothels many times but don't tell everyone around me that I do. No one knows.
/r/PurplePillDebate26/09/21 12:03 PM

That's a generalisation. Many women are going to university and being educated and getting jobs and being productive citizens. Those who are not and expect to be housewives and live off others should get a job and support themselves rather than mooch off others. Kids are really expensive so in a capitalist world it is better to not have one.
/r/PurplePillDebate26/09/21 11:51 AM

I got no issues with Africans. As others mention, they too will be affected by fertility decline so that doesn't fully fix the ageing population problem in the long run. In the short term yes more Africans should come in to fix ageing population, but in the long run the supply will run out and the solution is higher taxes and lower government spending or money printing. Money printing is effectively higher taxation via inflation.
