The conservative woman provides traditional home services in what she views as a symbiotic partnership. She appreciates and respects their rich husband as a person.

The gold digger does no such thing and aims only to take as much as possible without any genuine appreciation or respect. Not only that, he isn’t viewed as a person more than he’s just a bank account that requires social manipulation to dispense his dollars.

First of all - you're conflating conservative (modern politics) and conservative (traditional). I'm a conservative (modern politics) woman who works in finance and have nothing to do with your description above. You should have said a traditional woman in your OP, but I suspect your intention all along was to conflate the two.

Anyways, people overuse the word "gold-digger" these days. It used to mean a young hot woman pursuing some disgusting old guy for his cash, but it seems like reddit just uses it as a smear to shame women for prioritizing financial security. Tbh, by that definition most men I've met are as big of "gold diggers" as your friend, and fwiw I don't blame her for wanting to be traditional. Who wants to be saddled with double duty?

Gold digger is a made up term for a woman who cherishes living an affluent lifestyle. It's to put her down or keep her there. We don't have a special word for men who appreciate, let's say, beauty.

I think there are just ass much conservative women who value that as there are liberal women who do. Only the liberal women feel entitled to it without having to put in any work, whereas conservative women usually acknowledge the necessity of hard work.

Even in the past there are middle and upper classes in society, and those societies have both women and men working, and they earn more income and stay in the upper ranks of society in that manner. Now there is of course the debate of women earning less than men, but still, the whole notion of the men being the sole breadwinner dissipates as one moves up the economic ladder, in all civilized societies throughout history.

So no...to answer your question...she is not being conservative. She is just a gold digger trying to sweeten herself as being conservative.

If the woman is significantly poorer, and she is only with the man for his lavish lifestyle (as opposed to simply maintaining the lifestyle she knows), then it is gold digging.

That highly depends on your defenition of the word gold digger, because there's different degrees.

There's people who would consider someone a gold digger, just for considering finances at all in a decicion to date someone, but by that defenition almost 90% of the people are going to be gold diggers because almost no one wants to date someone with a few hundred thousands of debt.

And if you want a conservative lifestyle in current modern day age, money is an important factor because almost no one can comfterably a stay at home parent and if you want that: yeah that's something you need to filter for.

I wouldn't personally call that a gold digger though, because the money is secondary. It's just that she can't get to her goal without the money and I truly belief that a lot of people with those goals, drop the money aspect if it isn't mandatory for their goals.

I belief that because I live in a country that's a lot more socialized then America and all the women that wanna be able to be stay at home moms that I know off, accept small but comfterable poverty in order to prioritize good dads. So money isn't mandatory here and in response it's not being used as a factor by conservative women.

1. They have standards and understand is is expensive to raise a family. Thus they look for men who have the ability to support a family. If you only will date men with that potential or ability then you will only fall in love with and marry men that can provide. Love, connection, etc is there. She is proud to be with him and doesn’t hide him. She feels like she is dating an equal or up.

A gold digger is willing to be with someone they don’t really care for because he can make life easy for her. She pushes for designer items, trips, etc to try look good and impress others. She doesn’t post him anywhere on social media or it’s very sparing. She is not proud to be with him. Aside from the money, she feels like she is dating down but trades that lack of attraction for cash.

They're only in it for the money. If a, woman wishes to fulfill a traditional role she must find a man who have the means to get along at the minimum, this means that he must make enough money for potentially 3-4 people and can spare for expenses like college and retirement. The question these days that seems to rile up women when its brought up: that do they bring to the table.

A gold digger, to be blunt, will bring nothing to the table. Constant access to sex is meaningless when the rich guys can find it elsewhere quite easily. You'll find they cannot answer that question at all. Hence many try to insist there is a connection.

Conservative women will argue their traditional roles as a home maker, alongside their idiosyncratic traits. Depending on the guy and how conservative the woman is, they'll often say they'll bring their virginity, loyalty etc all that stuff.

And nowadays they can say that they lack traits modern women have that turn men off such as a partner count that rivals China's population, or the entitlement attitude.

If she really is all for being in a conservative role. Then she'd want that housewife responsibility, a man being the bread winner, having children, connections with in laws and extended families, wanting the man to take a patriarchal role perhaps, final decision is with the man, whatever else goes along with it. All of this does not entail the husband being rich or having a lot of money. An average bloke with a decent job can fit into this. Also men with money don't necessarily fit into this conservative narrative these days either.

If she is genuine about it, she should be open to accepting the guy may not be wealthy and still accept her being a stay-at-home.
