In both of these cases, the women already knew my approximate age, and the fact that I had two kids. One was an art teacher for one of my kids, and the other girl was from work. There is no way I would have had that success with my full-blown AFC behavior if I was trying to pick them up and I attribute it to the strong frame that resulted from the circumstances in which we met. Now what I know what a frame is, and that it is possible to have control of it - I'm looking forward to many more great…

Recovering AFC and single dad, and late 30's here. I wouldn't think twice about it as long as you are not expecting anything beyond casual. I live in a college town and short-term dated a 21 yr old and then had a serious case of oneitis and AFCism with a 23 year old (HB9 from work) that I dated after I got divorced. Interestingly, those experiences gave me a false confidence in my ability to attract women, because after dating them, I went through a period where I was practically repelling women…

Great suggestion, thank you. I guess the lesson for me is to just not try to talk about plans on the same night. I'm sure if I had just gone to bed, I would have made better decisions in the morning

Thank you for the comments. Certainly agree that asking for the next day was a mistake -oh well. As far as leaving early, it just seemed better to leave before her entourage departed. I thought it would be better to leave in the good state that I was in since the place was going to be shutting down soon anyway. Thanks again!

I picked up this book after hearing about it on seddit. It is the clearest, most actionable guide to inner game. This book, in combination with all the info on seddit is making a significant difference in all of my relationships.

no one, if that is how you see yourself. Redefine. Profit.

Thank you for the validation. During these early stages, my goal is fail faster, succeed sooner. I truly want to get used to rejection. If sitting down with them worked for 20 seconds, I could learn where I lost them. If it failed at the onset, I'd know that approach was too bold for that coffee shop..

The both was a semi-circle configuration, and could easily accommodate 6 adults, and they were the only two sitting there. I was planning to jokingly inform them that they were sitting in my seat, and that if that if they were regulars, they would know better than to take my seat. (I'm confident that I could have conveyed this in jest)

This is incredibly helpful. Non-Attachment FTW. The auto-correction makes a ton of sense and makes taking action crucial independent of outcome. This over-analyzing AFC will benefit from your comment. Thank you!

Yes, I hired a babysitter so I could go into the field and practice for a few hours and attempt # close. I'd never bring a girl that I'd just met back to my place when the kids are there. I should've clarified.

update - don't laugh - I opened a...set of...dudes. I'm not gay, but there were only three women at this bar (In this tiny city I call home) and they were HB-1's. I figured it would still be good practice for opening a mixed set someday, which is still something that seems terrifying. It actually worked, they were cool, we chatted for a good part of the night and it sure was better than being out solo. Not what I had imagined for the night, but I chalk it up to poor environment. Thank you everyo…

That's a perfect example. Thanks! (I flat out asked for it)

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
