Still reading, rarely commenting. Miss you all! I'm on a quick road trip for work and had to drive over winding mountains roads. Hit a large head sized rock in an avalanche/rock slide area. It damaged my bumper and body kit, and clanged around underneath for a few seconds. (Avoiding hitting the rock was not possible due to oncoming traffic.) I pulled over and immediately called my SO. He calmed me down, walked me through checking for any damage and gave me to go ahead to continue onwards. I'm th…

Hi! A bit late, but I see you're Canadian (me too!) I'm in Vancouver. I wear dresses often and almost all of mine come from thrift stores (salvation army or Value village) hello silk dresses for under $10! I also quite like Winners which I think is a sister company to Marshall's in the states. Don't be tricked by MSRP but they have a huge variety generally which is great.

Thanks for posting this. I'm just getting back to the new RPW, and it was beautifully written. I love the "keep pushing yourself to be better," posts, but this feels very authentic.

No routine here, but lots of flexible planning, and that works for us. We pretty much exclusively eat meat + veggies, and now that we are into grilling season, there isn't much prep. We do groceries Thursday or Friday for the weekend on our way home from work (whichever is going to be home first, but usually me) and then again Monday or Tuesday for the rest of the week. I cook almost every single night, and we never order take out and rarely eat out, unless it is a "treat" with friends. Our sche…

I require assurance he is not sleeping with, or even seeing anyone else before the clothes come off, as well as explicit interest in pursuing something longer term. My current partner who I have been with for 3.5 years, and I started sleeping together after about 3 weeks. Neither of us were seeing anyone else, and we were both interested in a relationship. It was too early to tell where that would go, but honestly, as a non-religious 30 year old, keeping sex off the table was not going to get me…

It's been a while since I've been around, but that's mostly because life is pretty damn awesome right now. I miss you ladies though! I finished my career- change school program, but returned to my old job doing finance for a few months. There was a lot of pressure and expectation for me to head North to where the big, big money in my field is (or shall I say was?). My field is mostly in commodities, and in Canada especially, things aren't looking too hot. Between the bad economic news, and the a…

Exactly :) my man works a physical job, and it keeps him strong, and relatively lean, with all the balance and flexibility that gym rats don't tend to have. "Supple leopard" is a term Kelly starrett, a physiotherapist, uses, and it applies nicely to my man. He may not be able to bench as much as gym-bro, but he can wrangle awkward heavy items, scale a rock face, or carry me when needed. He is all the strong needed :)

I jumped, and he caught me. I think the whole "he has to EARN my trust" is BS. I had recently gotten out of a truly awful relationship when I met my man. But I knew if I came into this with baggage, he would be out the door. He has no patience for that. I could have whined and held myself distant, as "I had good reason". I established fairly quickly that he was a good man, and had no intention of hurting me. I decided to start from a place of trust, instead of pointlessly making him jump through…

Wow. Apparently, I am not up to par at all in regards to planning meals, despite being a nut for organizing in general. I just learnt to play it by ear. We eat 80%+ fresh meat and veg, and very limited space so we shop twice a week usually (walking distance, do no big deal). We have a running joke of "what's for dinner?" "Meat & veg." We buy whichever cut of meat is on special, either at the butcher or at the grocery store, or if something catches our eye. Same with veggies. Perhaps we're just f…

I am naturally a cheerful, bubbly, chipper person, even at 6 am, which my best girl friend has always hated. I have kept a gratitude journal of three things I am grateful for damn near every day since I was 15. Despite this, I still have bad, stressful days. Being stressed out, even when I have good cause, makes me feel very very negative. What snaps me out of it: it is arguably the most hated thing of my man. He won't stand it, and he has left previous women in his life over it. The single figh…

I disagree. A relationship that was solid before you left, and which your return is imminent has a good chance of success. I would not cut the ties on this. Women should not just "next" a man after years of both of their time and energy and resources. Do not follow this I'll advised tip.

Great response! (Assuming the lingerie is only a "neutral" for him, and not an actual turn off)

This sounds like it might be deeper than just "doesn't like lingerie". Though, finding out what really turns my man's crank was tough, as he is NOT vocal about it. Also, keep in mind that not all men are the horny alphas that TRP sometimes make them out to be. Mine is not, and accepting him as such was just as important in respecting and loving him. (Not to discredit how important sex is to a man. It is, absolutely. But there are sometimes other things which interfere. My SO takes a while to war…

My SO could not care less about lingerie as well. Felt like I was doing something wrong, but no, he just likes when I sleep naked with him :) he likes big smooth expanses of skin (hence a fondness for sundresses) and doesn't like fiddly straps and frills and lace and bra cups that do weird things to my boobs if I lay on my side or whatever. Nude it is! Your man has let you know what he likes - appreciate that!

Quick quip: don't ever let yourself become a plate. If you don't get his exclusivity don't hop into bed with him. Plates don't get "bumped up" to LTRr/wives.

This ties in nicely with an article I read today from /r/femalefashionadvice: "The lost art of dress" (http://magazine.nd.edu/news/29473-the-lost-art-of-dress/) on how we became a nation (and continent, really, we are equally sartorially lazy here in Canada) I love how I feel when I'm dressed femininely and put together. It just so happens that what best suits my body are more structured pieces. Edit: link fix - sorry, mobile!

Seconding the Joy of Cooking. My grandmother had one, my mum has one, I have one, my sis has one. It's basic, and very American (in a good way), with a lot of classic French (think Julia Child-ish) recipes. Explains in detail all the simple things that many recipe books gloss over (like what meat cuts to choose, how to cut the veggies for the dish, etc.)

Interesting. I like when my man is assertive, but him losing his cool over some lewd comments that I didn't shut down appropriately, would look poorly on him. It shows he is not in control of his reactions. There is nothing wrong per we with a man sexually flirting with you. There is an issue if you allow it to continue, as the OP seems to have, and which phantom and Camille refer to. I would expect my man to be pissed at me, rather than the man for not ending it sooner.

Despite the good intentions, there are still too many quips pandering to Team Womyn. E.g. "he has good intentions (most of the time), he hears what you say (most of the time)", "most husbands aren't perfect, and he knows it" those snide asides can be equally applied to women. I hear those, and I feel like the author is apologizing for what she is saying. Like "be nice to your husband, but don't worry, I still think men are doofuses".

Just wanted to add that even if one (or both) of you are married, it does not preclude romantic (read:sexual) attraction from building. In fact, due to the false permissiveness ("It's fine! We're both married!") It may even be easier for that connection to build, ruining both relationships.

I'm in a similar boat. I'm 33, and have found the man I want to give my everything to. We've been together 2 1/ 2 years now, living together for about 1-1/2 now. I want to be his wife, very much so. I made that clear to him in the early weeks, and the message was understood. But... He is against marriage. He is committed to me, and a great man whom I admire, and love and respect. I made the choice to stick around. Having him be a part of my life is far more important than a label at the end of t…

Great response, as always. What has he always seemed most pleased at? I love the use of cosplaying an RPW. Yes, sometimes we make elaborate meals. Our home is welcoming to my SO, but certainly not fancy. He doesn't like that false "no one could actually live here" look that so often accompanies beautiful homes. I kid you not, craigslist. My SO is a busy man, and he feels like he's being interviewed when he fills out those survey questions. It always turned him off using one of those sites. I'm not saying you are angry at him. I'm saying many men who have a controlling girlfriend have a tendency to not want to rock the boat by voicing their own opinions, for they get shot down mercilessly when they disagree with her. Not saying that is what your situation is, but it is a common one that comes up here often. Edit: anger, especially from women, doesn't always look like yelling or being aggressive. It can be quite passive-aggressive, cold silences, pouting etc. but otherwise very clea…

Agreed. Drop the "helpful suggestions" (such as making future career plans or getting to the gym) make your mantra "I will support whatever choices you make.". Make it a personal goal to not mention those two facets of HIS life at all for one month. Almost guaranteed he sees you telling him what you think he should do as nagging, and many men (and well people as a whole) react to that by refusing to do anything about the issue at hand. Not necessarily favourites, but my SO and I went to a great jazz concert last week by Cecile McLorin Salvant. She sang two songs back to back that were incredibly RP: "wives and lovers" (can't find a video, sorry! - http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wives_and_Lovers) and "I wish I could shimmy like my sister Kate". ( http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=lpQ_pWev24w) The first basically warns wives to not become complacent, and to remain lovers to her man, or else the hubs may wander, and the second about a…

I live my life, which is quite (but not in all ways RP). I talk with my girls, with the guys at school, with my SO, with my family about what I believe (without proselytizing at all - I never say "you should" but just "this is what I find works for me"). I never mention RP terms at all. I never refer to this subreddit. My girls especially are as liberal and "progressive" as they come (and from the perspective of a liberal west coast Canadian city). This seems like a very sad observation. I think that it may be that we forget that we should put almost as much attention into finding good "crew mates" to extend the captain/first officer analogy as we do in finding our captain. No, we should not surround ourselves with women who are catty, irresponsible, petty or jealous. Don't be friends with people like that, male or female. But as others have pointed out, good nurturing female friendships are important for many of us. My girls and I have be…

There is your mistake. You slept with him when you "believed" it could be more, not when you had an actual agreement to not see where it would go. Always get an agreement of exclusivity before you sleep with a man.

Choosing to be a GP can be a great option, if executed perfectly. But... Be ready for: -difficulty finding a man (harder to "look up" to a man if he has less education than you) -long hours until your practice is established -resentment from make colleagues once you do take time off for family Don't even consider a specialty if you want kids and a happy marriage. (Partial BS there). I used to work at the medical school in my province (one of the top tier in Canada) I worked with senior medical students as they chose their residency options. There is a reason anesthesiology and dermatology are the #1 choices, and it sure as fuck wasn't "helping people". IMHO, many many doctors are money chasing jerks, just like the rest of the population. Not implying OP is like that. Don't put doctors up on any sort of pedestal though ;)

For my man. For all the privileges I have had in life (born to middle class parent in a wealthy country). For my health. For this RPW subreddit. For an awesome family, especially so as our family patriarch (my grandfather) died very recently and the close-knitness of the entire clan is very palpable right now. For an "attitude of gratitude" as instilled by my father (funny thing to be thankful for, but I know just how much this coloured how I view interactions and the world as a whole.) Flor 0 d…

Worrying gets you no where, really. Do you see something that concerns you, and that your man can fix, such as a bit of fence that needs to be repaired so the dogs can't escape. Bring that up (unless of course you can handle that yourself.) Is it general anxiety? Things like "I worry about you when you work late nights." Or "I worry about burglers." Assuming all reasonable precautions have already been taken, keep these to yourself. This is anxiety. Men often do not like to be inundated with wor…

Great point about trust. Without absolute trust in your captain (not that things will turn out perfectly, but that everything is going to be OK) it makes it easy to open up and be vulnerable. Perhaps OP has just not yet a man who she fully trusted to make the right decisions for them. This was my issue as well; until I met my man, I was not able to really let go and trust in someone else fully.
/r/RedPillWomen26/11/14 04:12 PM

Weakness is not really the term you are looking for. Vulnerability may be better. You can put a strong, capable (not to be confused with bitchy and aggressive) persona out into the world, yet still be open and vulnerable with your captain. I would argue this is key for having a strong relationship in general, RP or not. You're not being weak, just yielding to him. He doesn't need or want you as his rock, but as his soft place to land. A touch of vulnerability helps that dynamic emerge.

Relax first of all. :) Stay in a public space. Do not be tempted to go back to his place, or invite him over to yours. If he has asked you out on a proper date, chances are he is looking for a proper girl to date rather than a party girl. Obviously, don't sleep with him. Wear something feminine, but something you are comfortable in (I'm not talking sweatpants or hoodies comfortable here) just something nice but that you're not constantly tugging at your neckline or adjusting your tights. Excellent response! My man too has a relatively low drive, and it plummets further when he is run down (as he is now, full time work plus 3 hours of class twice a week after work, and out of bed before 6) I used to make it an issue, that somehow it was about me, and my needs not being met. How selfish of me upon reflection. IT IS NOT ABOUT ME. Some men genuinely do not want sex when they are stressed and exhausted. It is not (necessarily) a rejection of you. My man definitely feels pressure to e…

I agree with most point here especially the trying to manipulate him by how you feel. Trust in your captain. You have mentioned you're not comfortable with it, it is now in his court go decide how to handle it. As an aside re: the birthday sex. That's all fine and well, but it's after the party. Blow his mind with an amazing blowjob before the party, something he can keep in mind through the night. Something expected, or racier than you normally don't do.

Quite simply,/walk and walk now. You are a plate: the main plate, granted but a plate. This man is not ready for commitment. A good man and captain does not troll dating websites if he has said you have his commitment. The first time fine, you had not had "the talk". But after that, he was showing his true colors, which do not apparently put integrity and honesty high. He may have a million desirable traits, but not the ones of a reliable good captain, at least not if faithfulness and openness i…

It depends. Opening herself to his approach, and giving clear cues that she is approachable (smiles, holding eye contact, maybe the first hello) is encouraged. Few sane men will willingly cold approach a woman who appears walled off with RBF. On the other hand the woman who opens the conversation, and leads it, and makes sexual innuendos, and as a final nail, gives her contact details to a man unsolicited, is giving too much, and is in for a world of heartache. Yes, affordability is an issue. I live in arguably one of the most expensive cities in the world (Vancouver Canada). What people always seem to forget is that you have the option to live somewhere else. The problem comes up when people shoehorn themselves into tiny niche career options that require being in a large city. People want the lifestyle of either living in the city, or the huge house in the burbs. The option of modest home outside of the major centers seems lost. We have municipal elec…

I'm off the market and have been for almost two years (!) now, but I was dating with a mission before my I met my man. As mentioned earlier, a first date is not an interview. I don't believe that you should even bring up your relationship goals at that point. Whoa whoa. In no way does becoming an MD increase her sexual market value. At all. Perhaps she may find a man who appreciates her intelligence, but it is certainly not a main factor in her desirability. She may be able to persuade a man that she will not be consumed by her career, but it will take persuasion. I do know female MDs who work part time as GPs and make it work with their families. Yes, likely that only low quality guys, (read as guys with 0 other options) would wait. I'm neurotic about sexual health as well. It's a bit awkward but the "any diseases I should know about?" 3 months is a ridiculously long time in our day and age. 3 weeks may be a better target, honestly. :) by any reasonable standard, you are playing not only hard to get, but demanding he give of his time and resources for not even a promise of ROI. I can't think of a single WORTHY man who would put up with courting you for three months with big dates and not be given his "due". I too have always been quite RP, and only fairly recently (less than two years ago) left the dating world. Read as success in finding a good man, whom I trust absolutely. A woman DOES NOT submit to a man until she is confident she has found a GOOD man. This is the stuff of nightmares, confusion and abuse. As such, you have to get damn good, and quick at vetting the men you are interested in. Look for a man of integrity, who has a set of morals he follows consistently (you're not demanding perfec…

Then don't. Work on improving yourself, and maybe he'll follow along. Only the individual can decide if he or she is "depressed" and what needs to be done about it. Exercise is often just as good, if not better than meds, and if he sees you doing it he may join you. Endorphins then tend to trigger better moods, which may "fix" some of his other "negatives" like staying at home. Hit the gym, girl!

I'm confused - what are you feeling guilty about? It sounds like you're losing your attraction to him. Fairly common (but certainly not inevitable) in many relationships around that time. You want him to lead? You want to see him display social value? Wanting to see a man "happy" is very vague alas. The reigning advice here seems to be to step back, and let him take the lead. Be verbal with your respect (and physical) and let him know you trust and admire him. That's about all I have right now. …

I get where you're coming from, but I think it is highly dependent upon the man. Two completely different men can be as Red Pill as can be, yet have very different goals and routes to get there. A man can be RP and spin plates forever, or he can be RP and settle down with a family. One may be RP and lie to and deceive women (though many - including me - would argue that is not RP, as RP is about improving oneself, and better access to women as a consequence, not the target) or he can act with in…

Great idea! He has a couple sets of plastic spoons and forks, and a couple of old metal knives in his work truck. Trying to cut anything with a plastic knife is an exercise in futility.

Reliable and honest are traits of a good man, not necessarily a red pill man. The red pill is amoral remember. (Meaning it has no stance on how one applies its observations or tenets). Many RP men are dark triad or try to emulate dark triad traits. We do not recommend a relationship with such a man generally. RP looks very different from man to man. Find a good man, not an RP man ladies.

This sounds no bueno. I'm not sure on your relationship details, but you are still with a man who has "shattered" your trust? In my world, them be leaving' words. Cracked trust, or bruised trust sure. Shattered. Not so much. How long have you been with him? What happened? Do you have kids? How old are you? It feels like some very relevant details to your story are missing.

Eventually that stuff piles(d) up, along with the (my) fat, weakness and negativity. I don't have an answer, but I do think that given the past 30+ years of social conditioning "to be themselves," BP guys could use a hint (from their RP Women) that they were marching to the WRONG drummer. Just a thought: if you self-describe as "fat, weak, and negative" focus on that, rather than if you're annoying your SO by leaving a dish out. Obviously not your post, nor is this where you should be looking fo…

Integrity. This is a rather big, blanket term, but I do find it easy to identify. He has thought out, and follows HIS personal value code (not necessarily one outlined by a church, etc.) It is also about trustworthiness, that you can rely on him to make good decisions. It is also about he won't take your shit, which will push you to be a better human being as well. A good link: http://www.artofmanliness.com/2009/04/07/living-a-life-of-integrity/ Drive for self-improvement. This also takes many f…

So, it appears you've described your sex life, and not much else. Including a FWB, a slightly confusing story about dating post-divorce, and a train of booty calls (of which I'm not sure if you were or were not a part of?). It may not be too late to find a man, but to many men, even older men, some of that behaviour may not be very appealing. What is it that makes you an RPW? What do you bring to a relationship? What kind of relationship are you looking for? Your competition is going to be FIERC…

Sorry - I missed the point where you said you weren't bragging. And I genuinely believe you when you say you weren't trying to. BUT... as always it is the recipient of the message who gets to decide how one comes across. Such is, always has been, and always will be, the nature of communication. All I am saying is that it is easy in talking about ones life to come across as overly proud (and yes, you should be proud of doing these things for your man!) to those who don't understand, and it can se…

I wish there was a magic bullet to learning how to react. I was lucky that my dad wouldn't entertain my teenaged emotional outbreaks, so I very much recall the struggle of learning how to control my raging hormones. It's tough, but so worth it. Stay calm, breathe, and if you must, tell him you're struggling in that moment. It does get easier with time, but don't fall back on the "But I'm trying!" Excuse that women tend to make so often. But you'll do it once, you've started. Control it once more…

I nag him, have issues letting him pay and drive me around (I fight him), and haven’t been in control of my emotions during PMS/period. I still have two male friends. That is it, in a nutshell. You seem like a smart girl, you can see yourself doing these things, yet you persist. Hormones are not an excuse. That may be the "prompt" to act crazy, but it is not "why" you do. You have to learn to control the crazy. It's hard, and it doesn't seem fair, especially when you see other women getting away…

I am not married, but I am in a committed relationship with my SO, with the intention (and current reality) of building a life together. Coming up on two years together now, so take this as you will. RP knowledge is not based at all upon a traditional Christian marriage mindset. It is more evolutionary geared, as these concepts have more to do with how a woman's, and a man's brains are "hard wired", and these concepts would generally last across all cultures, at all times, from cavemen onwards. …

I will go with "Don't tell them." It is strange to go about discussing exactly how the chores at home are split. Matters of the home are generally private, trivial affairs, unless one wants to complain or brag. It's one thing to mention the cute aprons you want, or how you cook for your man, another to make a point about how that is how you show your love for your man. Even if it is true (that's one way I show my love as well) many women find it a bit obnoxious, as it is usually seen as a "humbl…

I ask those questions, because it was clear that you feel "something major is missing" as you put it. Having a discussion with your husband of where you want to be next year, in 5 years etc. gets you thinking about the path you want to be on, as a couple. I'm fairly sure if you look back in 5 years, and you are in exactly the same spot as you are now, you will not be happy. So find out what your goals are as a couple, and find ways to implement them and move forward. Maybe you want to have a hom…

You say "pretty much every successful older man". Is this really true, or are you just looking for those instances? Were they older men who just married a hot young bod, and then traded up for a newer model? Were they miserable women who were making the man's life miserable? Relax. Breathe, and relax. As awful as TRP can sound, most good husbands out there won't just up and leave you. This is assuming you made good choices and chose a good man (I assume so as your first words were "amazing guy"). He didn't just choose you for your hots. Men don't marry women like that (again, not usually). Insecurity in a woman can be revolting to a man. Just as a reminder: for most men their primary love language is acts of service followed by touch. This works in two ways: A/ your man shows his for you through doing stuff, which you may not notice, and by initiating sex. This is how he shows you he loves you. B/ the best way to his heart is by acting love, by physically doing for him (cooking, etc) and by initiating sex. Though your own love language is important, I feel his is often missed. Lady here, poster over at RPW. Just wandering through, and wanted to offer my perspective. Tell me to go away if you want. My line for when a man gets "too big" is simply when the chest/shoulder area or arms starts showing stretch marks. I'm fairly sure this only comes up with lots of steroid use. Oh, one extra. Aim for "touchable" at home. I stalk cashmere sweaters until they are on sale. They are mostly just basic v-neck sweaters, but oh so soft. They are worn for work and home time, dress up or down and are easily my most go-to item when it's cool. Paired with a silk shirt (thrift stores hello!) it makes for lots of touching ;) SO loves it.

I've learnt that most things that say "dry clean only"... well... aren't. I wear a lot of wool pencil skirts, and cashmere sweaters. Both simply are thrown in a delicate bag and washed on cold on occasion. None the worse for wear. Plus, no harsh chemicals on my skin. Woven dress shirts, same thing usually, minus the delicate bag for cotton-blends. Silk shirts - same thing. Dresses - same thing. I'm pretty lazy, but it's been fine :) Never in the dryer though. Many "suggestions" from women to men are thinly veiled "Do as I wish" commands. It shows a lack of trust in his decision making-abilities, which is a surefire way to undermine him, and make him resentful and hesitant to make his own decisions. Follow /u/blondie_brownie 's advice and don't suggest anything, especially if he has already said what he wants or thinks. It's easy for a man to lead when he knows he has his wife's support. This is interesting, but I'm going to have to politely disagree. Just my .02$, but the issue seems to be her building resentment (and commendations for trying to nip this now) Though these can definitely help a flagging relationship, by re-establishing Captain/First Mate roles, I don't see them helping here. She is taking on the provider role, and by further adding more housechores, more date planning, more "good wife" duties, I feel it will just make her more resentful, not less.

Also, remember that the characteristics of a leader are inherent to all men (well perhaps not the lowest of the low omegas, but in general yes) By finding a good man, with shared values and life direction, but stepping back yourself from making decisions, and allowing him to step into the Captain's chair without fear of being attacked by you, you encourage his leadership. Keep doing this, and he will develop into a leader. All those previously ignored middle of the pack betas have this potential…

Being resentful of the "burden" you are carrying is not being supportive nor respectful. Women, me included, (and men too) are horrible at disguising inner emotions. A woman's SMV is more than just a pretty face and a hot bod (though admittedly, those are pretty high on the list). A pleasant, feminine demeanor, a genuine interest in other people (anti-narcissism), kindness flexibility, gratitude and a desire to please can help mitigate any physical areas where you feel you may be lacking. How do you put a percentage on compatibility? Find a man who shares your core values, and direction in life. The rest is just icing. Personally, I prefer a man with shared interests over a shared personality. Though shared interests to start are not necessary, without some later on it can be hard to keep the relationship fresh and exciting when the honeymoon phase wanes. Shared interests give you adventures to take together and things to talk about over dinner.

Don't flirt with other guys. Immediately, it will make him think "not girlfriend material" if it is even on the table. That is how a man establishes high SMV, not how a woman does. I disagree with doing anything while you eat. Most women, and certainly a few women here (including me) have a few extra pounds to lose. Being mindful while you're eating is important so one is aware of one's body's cues. Slow down a bit. Time for reflection - which is direly lacking in our society - is just as valuable for becoming an "interesting" person as learning new ideas. I think we are too focused on multitasking, to our detriment. I knit, yet I know I knit far better when I focus on tha…

Don't be so quick to call abuse when men are sleeping with girls, but offering no commitment. It takes two to tango, and if a girl doesn't have commitment (assuming that's what she wants) she shouldn't be sleeping with him.

In terms of cleaning up, I go with "handle an item only once" When you're done with it, either put it away properly, or at least in a "staging" area where all items to go to one area go (e.g. a small table at the foot of the stairs for everything that needs to go upstairs.) Sorting mail, throw out the junk right away, don't leave it in a pile to deal with (again) later. So simple, but when one thinks about it as one goes, it makes a world of difference!

And here is where so many women go wrong. Respect should not only be shown in the moment that he is "deserving" of it, but at all times. You chose him as your captain. Yes, respect is earned in the early stages of a relationship, but once established, make an effort to always show that to him. He may suffer a moment of indecision, or make a "bad " decision (in your opinion) but that does not make him unworthy of your respect. Being his staunch supporter through thick and thin is so critical to a…

I get just how lucky I was that things worked out for me. Also note that I have chosen to not have kids, which really opens up a lot of potentials for me. If I wanted kids, I'm pretty sure I'd be losing my shit right about now. Many of my friends waited and lived together for the better part of a decade before getting married. But they were always serious (all three married their first boyfriends) A wedding doesn't have to cost much, if one can let go of the princess for a day idea.

I've heard that from men as well. They used to offer to help a woman who appeared to be struggling, only to be yelled at that "she is a strong woman, and don't need no help from a sneer man."

Also, if you need a hand lifting your baggage above your head, you need smaller baggage. It's carry on - it's meant to be small. We can't expect any body to be helpful these days. And as the article quotes Vox Day, it's because feminism ruined that for everybody.

I agree. This sounds more like you told a gross story about your husbands ganky peeling feet, and she was (understandably) a bit grossed out, and you interpreted it as an attack on your RP lifestyle.

As a high-drive woman with a man who has a rather low drive (compared to some of the stories here) I get this. It hurts to feel "rejected" like that. He probably doesn't see it as rejection though. Keep in mind that until recently, you were having sex 1 -2 a week. That is HIGH for most people (maybe not RP-types when sex is not a duty) What happened 3 -4 weeks ago to change that, before the car accident?

I seem to be the minority voice here on this, but why not just be upfront? As the writers say, "Show, don't tell." Keep your mouth shut, but pull his t-shirt off when you're getting naked together. Show with your body that you find him hot, whatever the issue is. (hard to tell without details) Tell him you want to feel his skin on your skin. Slide your hands in his pants over his ass. Most men are only going respond positively to this. Touch him lovingly in non-sexy times. I'm of the mind that w…

I feel the pain, because that was me. I was in a shitty relationship with a man who talked the talk about marriage, but as time went on, seemed less and less interested. I spent 4 years with him, from 27 to 31 waiting. He cheated on me (multiple times) and descended further and further into a man-child. Maybe I wasn't being as good of a partner as I could have been. It finally ended, and I was lost. I pulled myself together, clarified what I wanted and needed, and started dating a few months lat…

Sorry to hear about the cat. Do you get to see him the next weekend? IMHO, though men like to know that they have support when they're sad, such as for a cat that had to be put down, they don't want to be coddled. Plan something to get him out of the house for the next time you see him.

In regards to getting some friends - absolutely critical. It gets you out of the house more, and that mindless blather about cooking or sewing (I get it - those are some of my favourite hobbies too) is just fine with lady friends. My SO tries to care when I talk about that stuff, but I know he doesn't particularly. And that's ok. So I find other people who will maybe care a bit more. It has to do with respecting your SOs time. Basically, examples of pussy-pass, but direct plays on the shitty "men suck" memes that are in constant circulation. Obvs., women taking up too much space with bags, etc. would be included. Hence why I left out the technical details. ;) It was a crack in the fibreglass around where the stuffing box enters the hull. Bad, blue-pill advice here. Yes, a woman can be frank and direct in a business context, and "successful" there. Take that home to hubby, and it's a whole other world. Frank and direct now sounds like rude and bitchy. Men do not WANT this. They may put up with it from time to time, because they are simply happy to be getting some. Agreed that men may need a harsh awakening. But I thought that here at RPW we try to be good partners, and not head for the hills the minute something gets a little tough. Another place in which we agree, /u/bakerofpie. I have a handful of male friends from 15 years ago. We still have a large group of mutual friends, and are in contact fairly often. But when we do get together outside of the group, it is always, always with my SO, and usually in the context of my SO enjoys their company just as much as I do. There has never been any sexual interaction (though yes, I understand that there was almost certainly sexual interest on their part). They are not my emotiona…

This. Just like women, all men are different. My man has low libido, and apparently always has, since he was 19 or so. He loves sex, and it is AWESOME when we do. He simply doesn't want it "as much as he is supposed to." He has trouble getting out of his head and letting go of the stresses of the day. He has never has his testosterone tested, but none of the other symptoms of low-T are there. He is just somewhat low-drive... and that is OK. You sound like you've covered most of your bases. Relax…

My man has a low libido as well. It is rare that he is interested in the evenings. When he is stressed about work (staffing issues) he can't be distracted into sex. I can crawl naked into his lap and minimal response. Mornings though are a complete other world. I got in the habit of setting the alarm to go off half an hour earlier (and us in bed earlier too to make up for it) so we can find that bit of extra sexy time. Gross, as it means the alarm goes off before 6. This is not what I would cons…

The thing is, I'm as straight as can be... and I stare at a hot woman. Or a hot man. They're like magnets to my eyes. Can't. Look. Away. (And also the scary train wrecks. Not as nice. But equally magnetic.) My man's sex drive seems to be lower than most here, and either he is very very discreet and I don't notice him looking... or he just doesn't ogle. When he's in "work mode" there is no distraction in the world for him. In fact, I'd like to see him look more, so I can grab some of those hints …

Theoretically.. I have never ever known a woman who was able to do this. It was one of two things: Pine desperately for the man she is sleeping with to "really see what she has to offer" (NB. He sees exactly what you have to offer) Continue to sleep with a man who she is bearably interested in, yet pine desperately for a better man to "see what she has to offer" I have never known a (functional) woman who was happy with only recurring casual sex. (Though I have known some who enjoyed ONSs)

No. She is not crushing on you. She is taking advantage of you. You are sorely misled there. If you were both crushing, something (physical) would have happened. It hasn't. Move on. Thank you for the voice of reason here. This is exactly what we hound women on here all the time. YOU have agency. YOU made the choice. I'm not saying it was a "bad" choice. But part of the reason TRP even exists is that society refuses to hold women accountable for their actions. Learning how to phrase your words is an important part of this. I'm not trying to attack you, just to remind you to more strongly take responsibility for your decisions.

Slightly off topic, but the issue here is that you were sleeping with a man who was not interested in a relationship. You became attached, he didn't. I think it comes down simply to despite all the lies you've been told your entire life, you can't really have it all. You cannot have a high powered career and a loving, satisfying relationship. Also have to note that some (not all) women care more for a "perfectly" clean home. That the level of cleaning they desire is simply not what many men care about. The whole "So... the back of the TV hasn't been dusted in two weeks? No problem" and then spend their free time not-dusting doing something they find valuable and the wife gets bent how she "has" to do "all" the chores. Of course, many men I've known as well cared more about the cleanliness of their home than the women did.

I wish we could. It is "warm enough" up here (western coastal Canada) so it rarely is below freezing. But it pisses rain for at least 6 months of the year. Not much fun to BBQ in the cold rain. Also, it is dark by 5 come winter so that doesn't help either. Regardless, my darlin' makes the BEST steaks.

You can do this and still have variety. Make Tuesdays Chicken (prepared slightly different every week), Wednesday Beef etc. You're still buying basically the same core rotation so shopping/planning is easy, without feeling tedious. Having a well stocked spice cabinet makes this easy.

We grill probably 3/4 of our meals in the summer... rain or shine. I still do all the prep work (marinate the meat etc., sides) but my man does the actual grilling (of course I can, but he enjoys it) It really makes it feel like summer!

I cook the same way. We aim for usually twice a week groceries. We don't have a freezer (oh do I miss it) but what we are going to eat depends on what meat/veg are on special at the grocery store.

Umm... why are you asking a bunch of women how often MEN do something? How on earth would we know? Though I will make a guess: as much as he would be likely any other time. If he is not a cheater, he won't at that time either. Would the group of friends he is going with encourage that sort of behaviour? Also... it would not be our place to tell our men what they can or cannot do. Not that you are sounding like you are trying to. Have you discussed exclusivity? You mention "boyfriend" but that is…

I haven't, but a good girlfriend of mine did. It was a lady photographer (to avoid issues /u/RedPillJohnny mentioned) They were tasteful, but hot. As fun of a night as it would be with your hubby, if you want high quality, beautifully lit (that is the key to great photos) get them done professionally. I know Groupon offers discounted ones quite often in my city. Do it! (but also have a night of sexy fun with a camera with hubs too!)

And... if you're not attracted to her body, cleaning up the wrapping (clothes) isn't going to fix it. Still the same underneath. Yes, telling her she could lose some weight in a tactful manner would be best, and not calling her a fat cow while making mooing sounds. But clothes won't fix the underlying issue.

Except that 20 lbs. Really is a lot. If she was edging towards heavy before, but still attractive, and is now firmly in the overweight category, will rolls, 20 lbs. Is big. I wouldn't say relationship-ending worthy (currently), but if he can't get it up for her, a dead-bedroom in a few years will be enough of a reason to end it.

We often exercise together; either hike, bike, paddle or swim. He's stronger and faster so he'll get ahead or so some sprints and come back. Then I make dinner, we often do some of the endless home project list, I clean up, showers, cuddles and sleep. If he is up for it, some sexy time, but usually only once during the week. He is a morning and weekend kind of guy.

This! Learning to accept that his attempt at resolution may not look like you want it to. He tried to end the fight. You were stubborn and wouldn't let him, further pushing him away and prolonging the pain you were both feeling. He may not have said "sorry" but he was telling you he didn't want to fight anymore. I clean. I cook. He fixes. He buys. We both work full time. It works out and we don't keep score. He would help more if I let him, but he needs time to unwind and letting him do so is a priorty for me :) Troll-avoidance edit: obviously, if I'm sick or genuinely, pressingly busy he steps up. I live in a freakishly small space so I struggle with this too. Start small, something like "On Wednesday, I wear a dress" and then follow it. Planning what you are going to wear in advance really helps - it pulls all the little details together ahead of time. I know if I don't have at least a rough idea of what I am going to wear, I end up looking mismatched and off. Make mini goals: e.g. this week I am going to wear an accessory every day. On that, those little things, a light scarf, coloured belt or interesting shoes make even a (good fitting) pair of jea…

I would guess not into you, but from his point of view why close a door on something that he may get some no strings attached sex at a later date. Either way, I highly doubt it will blossom into something passionate with the stamina to make it long term. Also, as has been pointed out many times here, if you can't respect him (and from your tone, it doesn't sound like you do) the tingles won't remain, your attraction to him diminishes and it is all downhill from there. I couldn't say, really. For me, about 6 months is when I know whether he is truly worth my time. In my experience, if there are red flags , I will see them by then. If only I had been smart enough earlier to cut the lines then; I may have saved a lot of heartache and worse if I had listened to my gut. Those flags I identified early on, but ignored were the ones that led (in part at least) to the demise of the relationship much later on. But I'm sure it would depend on other factors too. My grand…

Alas, men are the gatekeepers of commitment, whereus us hens have but the keys to the sexy-time. Generally, you can't ask a man to commit to you. We are not saying be a prude, or even worse, a tease. Many women here are not advocating for waiting 'til marriage. Exclusivity, in my experience, does not take long to establish. Let it be known early, but then show value out of the wazoo to earn that commitment. It's been only a few weeks usually. I personally may have different boundaries than others here. Yes. I do not drop my standards to allow to be taken advantage of. I know myself, and know I am not able to have a sexual relationship with a man without developing "feels" for him. Therefore, it is off the table. What makes you think that YOU are not ready for a relationship?

Just to point out how a man views this (again, I'm not a man so this may be off): "if she hopped into bed with me without much effort or show of commitment... how often has she done this before?" The answer to this may not be what a good high value man is searching for... at least for anything more than what you have now... right, which is already all but nothing... (Sorry that sounded a bit harsher than intended. But I still feel it's true)

Ciritcal. It is presumtuous to assume you even have a capital-R relationship with this man before the talk. Some men won't be seen in public with a plate, some don't care if they are. It doesn't necessarily sound like you're a plate, but I've never been a plate, or a plate spinner, or a man, so I can't say. A factor yes, but not entirely. My sister, though certainly not awful would not connect with RPW. It was the whole social context, plus my natural genetic makeup that makes this work for me. A bit funny and awkward, but I have never known a man who is able to spin plates as well as my father does after he separated from my mum when I was 18. Perhaps that helped me see what TRP helps men with.

I find that there is little societal issue with meeting online. Meeting on CL however... it's as if people only see it as for hookups, or weird foot fetishes, or young girls looking for sugar daddies. (None of which apply in our case :) ) We still get looks when we tell people exactly where and how we met.

I would suggest less of hard skills (like sewing... Hardly an "important" skill in our day and age...) and perhaps think of more "soft-skills" like being a good nurturer. Femininity is less a specific skill set, and more of a mind-set to help your SO... in whatever way that may be.
/r/RedPillWomen25/05/14 04:48 AM

I see it as more of showing that you are trying to make him happy, and that you care. Cooking does that. So do foot rubs. And a clean house. And BJs ;) Part of the neat thing about RPW is that there is a lot of emphasis put on finding a GOOD man. It doesn't feel like a transaction that must be perfectly balanced as you both have your spheres where you provide value to each other. Many women here find that the domestic sphere (obviously including cooking) is where we excel at showing that love.

Cooking is but one (in general a very important) part of providing your SO a "soft place to land" at the end of a day. There are many other ways to provide that. Just because he is good at something (as my SO is good at cooking, from years of being a bachelor or looking after his previous partners) doesn't mean he wouldn't appreciate you taking over in the kitchen from time to time. I would see a man who "commits" to an LDR without your previous "proof of value" to be pretty low value (DLV). Or lying about the "commitment" side if you do not have a good base already.

Agreed. I've never done it but one of my best friends kept the love alive by regular (though not frequent alas) visits. Knowing that there is an end date when they could live together again. They made it through 2 years of her masters, and are now happily married. Not just a "someday, that would be nice" non-commital answer, but a hard, "yes, in 6 months we will live in the same city again". Hardly (probably not all, really) worth it in the beginning stages.

I'm truly curious. What did I miss here? A RPW doesn't go for a man who is going to pump 'n' dump. Among many things, I look for a good man. I've never been one to fall for a good show. TRP helps men get laid. I may have interpreted what an alpha is, in which I apologize. 'Tis not my forte. I feel I have found a great man for a LTR. Again, what am I missing here?

Agreed. If you're shy, and finally find the courage to make a move, being turned down, even politely, can be devastating. It will take even more courage to try again the next time.

I was going to say it is a spectrum, but I remembered Athol Kay's description that all men fall on a spectrum of alpha, and a spectrum of beta. For an LTR, we need both. I've had my Dark Triad alpha. It sucked. I found my SO before I found TRP and you lovelies here. But I look back at least a decade and the base values were there in me. My SO has lots of alpha tendencies (decisive, hot as hell, career driven, manly, hot as hell, strong, my rock, hot as hell) but plenty of beta to maintain the co…

I'm not as young and hot as I once was alas, so they've dropped in frequency. As dana said, a polite smile and thank you, or just ignored. They've never intimidated me... but that may be because I do not go out alone in an area where I would feel intimidated. Then again, as I'm still a relatively young woman who is training an assistance dog, I still get lots of attention. I'm a transit user, so there I am with my pup on the bus: endless attention. It is rare that I have a day without at least t…

Perhaps out of line, but may it just be them seeing (presumably) an American woman, and throwing dice on the odds that it would lead speaking to her, leading to dating, visits and eventually a green card and the ticket to a better life? But I very quickly figured out it was almost entirely on the very slim chance that I c…

Nah. Lots of time in life for both. My SO worked a long full day yesterday, and I had a full day of class. Home for a fun bike ride to the beach, a delish home cooked meal... And capped the night off with some good naked sexy times. The bike ride was fun... but the sex really made my night ;)

Alas, I have been living in jeans of late, since I returned to school last fall (2.5 weeks to go!) I am one of four women of the 70ish in my program. Cute flats (ballet or boots) simple jewelry, almost always a light colourful scarf. My old wardrobe from business casual has surprisingly transitioned well: v-neck cashmere sweaters, button downs and blouses still look great with jeans. I am easily the nicest dressed (not hard when the others are uber-casual). I used to wear dresses a lot, but it f…

I have a pet theory that it only takes about 6 months to know if someone is worth putting further effort into. If she is not excited about the relationship at that point, there is no recovery. I bet you good money that their sex life is... weak, to put it at best. Better to rip that bandaid off now, than have a long messy drawn out split later. A clean cut... Both my SO and I were raised until we were school aged by our mothers. I'm traditional - I believe that mum is best until the kids are in school. A nanny is never going to care for your kid the same way you will. Unless you are ultra high drive career wise, I don't believe taking a few years off from your career will kill it forever, as many feminists will have you believe. Take 3 or 4 years off to be with your kid. It's not that you can't have a career and kids, you just can't at the same time.…

Anecdotal, but no. My SO dated a single mum when he was in his early- or mid-twenties, before he came into his own. He ended up leaving her because she didn't put her child first. She was always willing to put her focus on him, to the detriment of her daughter. When I asked him about this, he said she wouldn't make a good mum if he did choose to have kids with her. There are also groups which run a "seed library" ... but nothing to do with actual libraries. They are a group of gardeners who save the seeds from plants they have grown in their gardens and have worked in your microclimate. It is expected that if you use their seeds, that you save a couple handfuls to donate to the library the next year. Ours are run out of the city, but it varies. In general, this is good. However, I find it is easy to step into bragging about your man, and turning it into "all the great things he does FOR ME". Though I'm very careful to paint my SO in a (very) positive light, it can feel like it is being rubbed in your face to be on the other end. Thrilled to see this addressed! I see grace and elegance as related. Perhaps the difference between "graceful" meaning a way of movement, like a ballerina, and "full of grace" as in a behaviour (like you noted: calm, charming without being ostentatious, putting others at ease, not trying to be the centre of attention) This is my major point I'm working on in aiming to become more feminine. I think she misses the "why" that this is critically important. She does not point to the drastic decrease in a woman's fertility, especially for the career oriented woman who is not even thinking of kids to be penciled in until their mid 30s. Personally, red pill or not, this isn't a lifestyle I would be excited about pursuing. Sigh. It never occurred to me... but yah, that's me. ;)

As mentioned the other day, I am an INTJ. And yes, in many ways it describes me well. Alas... INTJ women can be.... difficult? Socially we are not rock stars. I have made a lot of effort to be more pleasing. The pay off is slow, but I'm slowly learning that elusive thing called charm. However, do note the Myers Briggs is an entirely non scientific description. Some studies show that above 30% of people who retake the test land in a different category. As time goes on, that number hovers around 5…

Absolutely. I think prenuptials are important. From what I understand, protecting assets from before the relationship is doable through a prenup. I fully support one's decision to sign one. If my SO and I choose to be married,I would encourage him to have one drawn up. He is in the process of buying the company that he has been building up for 7 years now. It has the potential to be quite lucrative. That will always be his. I did not build it. I hate the idea of divorcing, but I understand that …

Unfortunately, from what I understand, many prenuptials do not hold up well in court, and certainly not ones which include "cheating clauses". From my (admittedly non-legal background) they are often disregarded. They will not override family law and precedents set in your state no matter what you specify to abide by. Adultery is not illegal, and you will not be able to have the whole tome of family law thrown out the window. Assets will still likely be split in an "equitable" way, no matter why…

SO'S sister is having her first baby in about 2 months. I promised her I would have a hooded baby blanket done by then. It is off to the yarn store to pick some up tomorrow. Bonus points as SO has flat out said he loves seeing me be "domestic". I have a couch cushion upholstery project I have to finish off as well. I've been working on menu planning and does it ever help. Meats marinating the night before make the flavours really come through.

Must politely disagree. I was arguably what you blokes over at TRP call "an alpha widow"* I wasted some of the best fertile years of my life with a Dark Triad man of epic proportions. He liked feminine women. He liked that I naturally fell into what we called then "pink roles/ blue roles". He liked to dominate me (fearfully so) He liked that his 6'4" towered over my 5'1". He loved the T&A. He liked me to be submissive. He raged when I dared speak up much, especially in public. Most of the women …

Has anyone taken a look over at yourbrainonporn.com? There seem to be some compelling data to suggest that it might not be best in excess for a variety of reasons, including maintaining interest in your "ordinary" partner. It has been mentioned quite a few times on MMSL. I've not gone through the whole site. I do keep coming back to humans did not have access to porn as we know it (full HD, instant and constant access, whatever flavour you want) for more than 15 years. This was not "normal" unti…

I too have been in a sexual drought with a dark triad ex who would watch... disturbing... porn and leave me sexless, and very willing, for weeks, sometimes months at a time. It was a big ugly mess, and I did not always handle it in a RPW way, and I'm sure my behaviour was not always helping the situation... but man did being passed over for porn hurt sometimes. In cases like that, I can see making requests. But also likely indicative of a larger "state of our union" discussion as to why you are …

As someone who was very much interested in social issues (bigger than petty politics) with a strongly libertarian slant in a very liberal group of friends, in a liberal Canadian city, I was at times "that woman". I learnt in my mid 20s that to maintain the peace, these things which I still strongly believe, had to simply be kept under wraps. I don't discuss them in public at all now. I am far more pleasant to be around. Of course I can hold my own in conversation. .. but I choose to not as it is…

Two sides to this. One is an old Jewish* meme: to ask "What did you learn today?" Instead of "What did you do today?" for kids. It even works well with adults ;) The other is one I learnt from sales years ago doing sales as a part time gig in uni: ask open ended questions, not questions that can be answered with a yes, no,or one word answer. This one works wonders with my SO, who doesn't offer information, but who genuinely enjoys sharing with me when I show interest in his opinion. *may or may …

Indeed! I love knowing that there is a community of women out here who get me. It can be so lonely sometimes. Thanks for clearing up some misconceptions, and maybe letting some red pill men know that an ltr need not be as horrific as some of their (admittedly heartbreaking) stories are

I suffer with this as well. Stylists for years would insist that "long layers add volume". Lies! Perhaps on thick hair, but on my fine hair it looked just awful and straggly and thin shortly after the cut. I finally had a stylist who suggest a blunt cut - huge difference! I have layers around my face and a blunt cut at my shoulders. It's versatile and looks as thick and healthy as possible. I can do a fancy feminine updo, like a french twist,or wear it down for daily wear. Much much happier with…

I'm curious what others answer. I struggle a bit with this as well, as my man has been with 20ish partners to my significantly lower number. Not quite what you are facing, but it nags at the back of my mind as well. I wonder, and worry whether the sex, nevermind the rest of our relationship, can be as important, and meaningful to him as it is to me. I know that it is, according to TRP, supposed to add value to him in my mind, due to preselection, but I haven't quite come to terms with it... Hope…

I agree. I'm 32 now, and most of the men in my social circle have grown out of the cute phase and look more manly. Then again, my SO has days that he is unbearably hot to me... and days when he still has a younger guy's charm, and comes across as cute to me.

Another vote for not thinking about him much at all, though he was very dear to me, and we had an amazing relationship for high school. He was patient, and gentle and our relationship continued for another 6 months after, when he had to move due to familial issues. However, I am far more intimately connected to my SO now than I ever was to my first.

Another thing I find that helps is asking myself if this was something that was truly in the big scheme, important... or was it something that in my mind was important? (E.g. did he forget to pick up an extra box of cat litter, and I would now have the "inconvenience" of having to make a separate trip for it, or was it forgetting to deal with a mortgage issue?) I try to ask myself if this is going to be important a year from now, and if not to let it be, or to find a way to have it done myself -…

Newbie here, but I've been lurking since the early fall, after I found this sub through MMSL, on a search for info about (potential) low T in my SO. My SO and I are both from small town Canada, but live in a large metropolis for now. Surprisingly, this is part of what we connected over, and where we see a lot of the problems that society faces, and where we believe our relatively traditional views arise from. I aim to be feminine, which is a compliment to his naturally masculine traits, behaviou…
