I agree people should be allowed to defend themselves when being strangled, but if that was the case why did she lie in the 999 call? why not just admit he attacked her and she stabbed him to get him to stop?

I think Spain has a sizeable non white population. I don't really see what skin colour has to do with it though.
/r/MensRights05/06/22 07:38 PM

it's not like we can do anything else. the law is how it is. we can fight to change the law but we can't magically make it go away. and many of the people who made these laws are men. they are equally to blame.
/r/MensRights05/06/22 07:26 PM

I'm white so I don't get the joke.
/r/MensRights05/06/22 06:48 PM

if a woman stabs a man it's not a gender based violence crime, but when reversed it is. basically intent and motivation is presumed when a man attacks a woman.
/r/MensRights05/06/22 09:15 AM

as usual, those who don't fit the mainstream agenda get hurt as collateral. :/

I hope he succeeds. (also obviously you can speak English as you wish but usually we do not use the term "Ministress". we use "Minister" no matter who is in the role. same with most occupations. there is no gender distinction.)

that is fucked up.
/r/MensRights04/06/22 07:56 PM

I'd protect a lot of people including strangers, but not because of being "a man". it's just the right thing for anyone to do. it should absolutely not be forced on you though.

for some reason my UK MP keeps ignoring me when I ask why the UK government or my MPs party are not criticising Ukraine for this.
/r/MensRights04/06/22 06:33 PM

yeah. we're just unfortunate to be alive in this time. maybe in 50 years it will change again.

Yup. That's why despite being on this sub, I'm not an MRA, I'm an egalitarian. Why am I not on the feminism subs? Because they don't tolerate egalitarians like this sub does.

the author doesn't seem to even entertain the idea that she could be lying. I think most people who claim to be victims aren't lying. but there will always be some who are lying, or exaggerating. they do exist and they ruin lives. the author seems to struggle with the idea that it's good to recognise that.

unfortunately the way our system works, the final decider is the courts, not the police or those who wrote the laws.

okay. just FYI I decided to seek clarification on r/policeUK so I'll link the question I asked below and if you wish to follow up there you may do so. https://www.reddit.com/r/policeuk/comments/uvhswb/what_is_an_offensive_weapon/
/r/MensRights22/05/22 07:10 PM

Intended by the person having it with him for use for causing injury to the person: [no example given], does not fit the definition as she presumably didn't put it on with the sole intent of it being a weapon. You've misunderstood. you don't have to bring it out with the intent, only be intending injury when you use it. For example, a car key is an offensive weapon at the point where you put it between your fingers and punch someone with it.
/r/MensRights22/05/22 07:04 PM
1

you're reading the wrong bits. it's the bits I highlighted that are relevent. those are examples of the other two items.
/r/MensRights22/05/22 06:22 PM

Possession of an Offensive Weapon in a Public Place: section 1 PCA (Either way, maximum term of 4 years imprisonment on indictment) Section 1(4) defines an offensive weapon as “any article made or adapted for use for causing injury to the person or intended by the person having it with him for such use by him or by some other person”. In the case of R v Simpson(C), 78 CAR 115 the court considered this definition and identified three categories of offensive weapon. Offensive per se i.e. those ite…

you know Australia based it's law on UK law, right? there is a lot of shared case law, so even though one doesn't have a direct effect on the other they are connected. but aside from that, the ethical arguments remain valid. Australia is very similar to the UK in many ways. much more so than it is to the US.
/r/MensRights22/05/22 01:04 PM
2

In the UK both of those are offensive weapons. anything is an offensive weapon if used as such.
/r/MensRights22/05/22 09:38 AM

If she'd hit him elsewhere on the head he could have died instantly. Is his life really worth just $174?
/r/MensRights22/05/22 08:20 AM
28

No one would have expected him to die from it? the law doesn't (theoretically) care about that. it's been proven in case law that if you attack someone and intend only a minor wound, but that due to the person's physiology or other subsequent incidents they die, you are held responsible as the instigating cause.

democratic governments like tolerance because it allows them to pretend the country isn't falling apart over large, weighty issues they can't magically solve.

I think we shouldn't do it to anyone. otherwise you're making assumptions based on characteristics. if we did that with skin colour we'd call it racism.

I don't remember where I put the essay but the basic points are: it was designed to be a bad game on purpose. the original creator designed monopoly (the landlords game) and another game which was similar but didn't allow monopolies. the idea was that people would see how little fun it was if one person owned everything, it was a teaching tool. It can last indefinitely. this is not what you want in a game. you ideally want a game to have a somewhat predictable play time so you know if you can fi…

^ This. You are doing it wrong if you are making blanket statements about any group that hasn't actively chosen to be a group. I.E. based on inherent traits.
/r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates06/05/22 09:55 PM

I once wrote an essay on why monopoly was such a terribly designed game. but yeah if you want good games take a look at the rankings on boardgamegeek.com
/r/MensRights06/05/22 10:28 AM

weirdly there is still gender seperation in many games like chess. at least, women can choose to play in the "mixed" competition or the women's one while men only have the mixed competition.
/r/MensRights06/05/22 10:27 AM

Good news! And brave of them to highlight men being the minority in something well-paid. These stats are the same in the UK so will be interesting to see what conclusions they reach.

Until the UK decides to get its shit together and call rape rape, this is technically not rape as the wrong person has the penis :/
/r/MensRights04/05/22 04:34 PM

the UK is unlikely to have women only carriages or driving lanes. then again the current government is lead by the first prime minister in history to be found guilty of a crime while in office, so I guess anything is possible.

/r/MensRights30/04/22 10:39 PM

the point is previously when men have died the headlines have been about "people" dying and it's been written as "16 people, including 4 women and a child". rather than "11 men, 4 women and a child".

it's likely been misused a lot but it is important that people are taken seriously (but not without question) when serious crimes are alleged to have occurred. this principle should apply to everyone though, not just women.

wow. way to set up a straw man there.
/r/MensRights25/04/22 09:20 AM

that's true but a common factor of many groups is that they are not listened to or beleived.

that's largely what we are doing.
/r/MensRights19/04/22 03:50 PM

Listening to the UK debate on this today in parliament was depressing. only one MP asked about men and it was a question on protecting boys aged 16 and 17 who make up 3/4 of children travelling to the UK as to how they could be protected from deportation at age 18. the fact only boys face this fate is shocking.

I honestly haven't read it, but my opinion on veganism in general is that it's an inherent part of treating beings ethically if you are atheist. If there is no inherent difference between us and other animals then there is no inherent difference between killing a human for food and killing an animal for food.

yeah, I try to always seperate the person from their arguments and hope others do too.
/r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates18/04/22 09:31 AM

I post on both LGBT and Trans subs and Mens rights and here. I do get the occasional sub sniping but people really shouldn't make assumptions based on your subscriptions. I'm also vegan and communist/socialist. the intersection of people who support mens rights, Egalitarianism, communism, veganism and LGB/Trans/Enby is very small, so I get bashed by all sides lol.
/r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates18/04/22 09:01 AM

that's the point though. drafting based on gender is unethical. but no, they aren't actually drafting the men. they don't have to fight but they can't leave. so the men tend to sign up as the alternative is death anyway.
/r/MensRights18/04/22 08:53 AM

I agree with you. I'm in favour of mixed groups as much as possible. I find the distinction pretty weird most of the time.
/r/MensRights17/04/22 09:13 PM

I honestly found it hard to talk to the male psychologist I had. not sure if that was just him though. the women I've spoken to have been both better and worse. personally I think it's a very individual thing and the gender has very little to do with it.

I cut the headline down for length reasons. The point is he didn't need to specify men and women and children if his issue was just with the boats. he is implying it would be okay if most of those on the boats were women and children.

much like the situation with domestic violence charities. no accomodation for men fleeing violence in most places. what a surprise. so hardly expect it to be any different here.
/r/MensRights15/04/22 08:57 PM
1

well it absolutely should be. I run a non profit social enterprise as well and we make sure our toilets have products available too. my opinion is every toilet should have these products available, along with a suitable bin. ideally all toilets would be gender neutral (and they always will be in any business I run) but failing that we need these facilities in male and female and disabled and family toilets alike.
/r/MensRights15/04/22 08:49 PM
1

thank you for being so civil. I acknowledge violence happens in the world I just don't think we should let that stop us from pursuing equality in all areas of life. we can tackle the problems we face without steriotyping. in the same way I'd be mad if they tried to only match these people with hosts of a certain skin colour, I'm mad about this proposal.
/r/MensRights15/04/22 08:47 PM

I bought them from a local company that matches your purchase with free feminine hygiene products to those in need. seemed like a good idea.
/r/MensRights15/04/22 08:06 PM

this is a good thing for equality. everyone should have the right to be topless.
/r/MensRights15/04/22 04:25 PM

I live alone and have no need of feminine hygiene products yet I keep them in stock in my house because a visitor might need some. Is this uncommon?
/r/MensRights15/04/22 01:56 PM
3

What is really happening is that men and women have different opinions about how those tasks need to be done. This is the biggest thing. What I perceive as tidy "enough" is not tidy at all to a lot of people. I just don't see the point in fighting entropy.
/r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates15/04/22 01:20 PM
2

It still makes little sense to me. perhaps because I'm enby and grew up in an otherwise all-female household my experiences are not normal but for me I cannot understand it. most of my friends are female so it just seems ridiculous to me. I hate people thinking I'M somehow a danger because of my birth-assigned gender. its stupid and makes me angry at the world. I don't want to hurt ANYONE.
/r/MensRights15/04/22 01:13 PM
1

I think a lot will sadly. we shouldn't be doing this to people. we should be welcoming them.
/r/MensRights15/04/22 12:38 PM
2

negatives: perpetuates steriotype about men. gives the refugees the idea they should be afraid of UK men. reduces the available accomodation. no guarentee of safety as couples can abuse people too. brings false sense of security and may lead to exploitation from other hosts. but honestly the main reason is they shouldn't do it becuase it discriminates against men and that should be good enough. same as they shouldn't do something that discriminates against women either.
/r/MensRights14/04/22 10:13 PM

oh no. you had to move to another country away from the explosions? that must be hard. Seriously though, women and children ARE suffering, but apart from those who have stayed in the country, they are having a very different experience of war to their male family members. We need to talk about the men too.
/r/MensRights14/04/22 04:34 PM

I am thinking for myself. and my thoughts are: people matter, we need to help them when they have problems.
/r/MensRights14/04/22 04:32 PM

I was referencing a book, "all the countries we've invaded and the few we haven't." It's not why we should help people, it was just a point I was making.

The average trans person isn't trans because they want to cause harm to another person. Much like men shouldn't be shat on because some men are rapists, trans people shouldn't be shat on because some trans-identifying people are rapists.

I've been constantly filing complaints with the BBC about lack of coverage of men being forced to stay but they tell me they provide sufficient coverage. what they mean is they have from time to time stated that men are obliged to remain in articles otherwise not mentioning the men at all.

I agree we should check that hosts are suitable but blanket bans of single men are not the way. Once again we further the narrative that men are a danger unless supervised by a woman. At this point I am certain the UN is an anti-male organisation. they don't respect international men's day, they don't trust men, they don't care that men are banned from leaving Ukraine.

If men want to fight, thats fine. if women want to fight, also fine. if men want to stay at home, fine. if women want to stay at home, also fine. the issue is men are forced to fight and women are not. it should be either both or none. You're right that in many countries women didnt have direct political control, but then again most PEOPLE dont have such control. Today, women and men have equal voting rights in most countries so both should be voting for a party that will end the draft or extend…

Personally I'm not an MRA or a feminist, I'm an egalitarian. This means I get shat on by MRAs and Feminists and get accused by each one of secretly being a member of the other. I'm also Non-binary which approximately half of each of the groups don't seem to recognise as valid from my experience. My ultimate goal is that gender should matter no more than your hair colour. it shouldn't affect your opportunities in life, who you date / love / marry, where you can go, what you can work as or anythin…

oh FFS. My whole life I've been asking for contraceptive pills for us, I CAN'T WAIT to use them. I'll be taking them even though I don't have a partner or regular hookups. Why the hell would any man want to NOT take them (apart from finance reasons) when such terrible penalties exist for getting someone pregnant?
/r/MensRights03/04/22 05:08 PM
18

what annoys me is it takes MORE effort to specifically exclude men. it would be easier to just write the rules gender-neutral so that applied equally to all.
/r/MensRights31/03/22 03:53 PM
1

you've misunderstood. gender is not sex. they are two different things. and non binary is not one but many genders, any gender "outside" the male-female binary. this is not a new concept. so-called "third gender" people exist throughout history in many cultures.
/r/MensRights31/03/22 03:50 PM
0

no, enby is short for non-binary. its a gender, it doesn't relate to physical body characteristics. non binary people can have any kind of body. non binary people don't feel that they are male or female. they are outside the "gender binary". many people on this sub will not like that i am talking about this as a lot of people don't accept the concept as valid.
/r/MensRights31/03/22 01:41 AM

im enby.

a lot of it gets labelled feminism too when im on this sub xD and yeah alt right is confusing as im all about universal basic income and public ownership of utilities and essential sectors, along with LGBTQA support and so on. i dont see how I can't be considered far left.
/r/MensRights29/03/22 08:45 PM

the law on sexual offenses in E&W is always stacked firmly against people with penises due to the specification of the law of "his penis" and the life imprisonment sentencing option. we need equality of sexual offense laws. if penetration occurs it shouldn't matter which party is the consenting one as to what the crime is classed as.
/r/MensRights29/03/22 08:43 PM

I support equal rights for all. if that counts as feminism then yes? otherwise no. i think there are specific issues that affect men vastly more than women and vice versa. though personally i prefer to tackle them in an integrated fashion under the label of egalitarianism.
/r/MensRights29/03/22 07:57 PM

as an "egalitarian" I think if feminism is going to exist we need mens rights as a counterbalance or the whole system gets out of whack like it has done in many ways lately with false accusations, 2nd class citizens, lack of parental rights, conscription and circumcision. but I'd prefer neither to need to exist and we all just think of each other as humans. ill also say the fact this post hasn't been removed suggests this sub at least is fairly tollerant of disagreements. i cant imagine having t…

But I cant even pick a gender! how am i meant to pick a whole movement?? gender confuses me. It causes me nothing but problems. i have to go into a different changing room than my friend for completely random reasons. it sucks. maybe it's partly my autism that makes it hard for me to understand.
/r/MensRights28/03/22 07:02 PM

the last dude thinks im a male MRA. you think im a female feminist. both of you refuse to believe im an egalitarian enby. it's just bonkers. this is why I can't take so many feminists and MRAs seriously. you're so similar and you can't even see it.

she? lol. you cant even gender me correctly let alone work out I'm an egalitarian not a feminist. I swear every week i have some random redditor misgendering me and accusing me of being a feminist or an MRA. all im trying to do is stand up for people, regardless of sex/gender. but you're just doing exactly what i was talking about in my other post you referenced, it really is comical.

her act being wrong does not mean the police acted incorrectly. the police acted responsibly and took the accusation credibly. therefore it is not false imprisonment, which was my sole point here.
/r/MensRights28/03/22 12:15 AM

if someone is accused of a crime and a police officer has reason to believe they may have commited said crime then they do deserve to be arrested though. our society has decided that's how we want to do things. its a balance of inconvenience for an innocent person vs not failing to prevent a criminal from continuing to offend while waiting for an investigation to conclude.

Much like feminist gets used as a bad word by some here, MRA is used a lot like that in feminist circles. in reality both movements have a mix of reasonable people, unreasonable people and trolls. which is why I avoid either label (despite some feminists assigning me BOTH labels, which I always find amusing. basically my "good" beliefs are feminism and my "bad" beliefs are MRA. ) I just think as a society we are self-harming by perpetuating this war on gender. better to come together to tackle t…

I absolutely agree weapons trump bodies. also there are MANY women more jacked than I am, I'm a weak basrard. so either way women belong in the millitary just as much as men. one thing though: a bazooka is a terrible anti-personel weapon. you want a machine gun or a rifle or a shotgun. bazookas are for tanks and sometimes aircraft.

how can we have a "return" to matriarchy? i thought women were always controlled by men in a patriarchy? is she suggesting women DID have power historically?? could it be perhaps that rather than men vs women the struggle was, as is today, of poor vs wealthy? common vs elite? hmm... interesting.
/r/MensRights27/03/22 10:54 PM

that's not how false imprisonment works. it isn't false imprisonment if you are arrested to investigate a crime there is reason to suspect you may have committed. false imprisonment would be a civilian locking someone in a room when they had no reason to do so.

as an AMAB enby, I think trans men and AFAB enbys are marginalised by the very fact they are so often forgotten about. much like with men, just because you allegedly get fewer issues, it doesn't mean the ones you do get are any less relevent or important.

yeah. I bet you 85% of men would stay anyway. those who would leave have good reasons. disability. single parent etc. of course if we're letting women leave no matter what men should be able to as well.

No, there is nothing about having bollocks that makes you a soldier. Some men are good at fighting, some women are good at fighting, but no one is born a warrior. and no one should be forced to fight because of a trouser sausage. it's like making someone fight because of their skin or hair colour.
/r/MensRights06/03/22 06:04 PM

trans women are also being turned back as their IDs stilll say male. that puts them at even greater danger as Russia vilifies LGBT people. the answer of course is not to make a speical case for them but to just remove the ban on men leaving.

Not one single activity or screen said anything about men as victims. so why the hell are you calling it gender-based violence when you mean violence against women??

unarmed civilians should be allowed to flee, yeah. only millitary should have to fight a war. and last minute conscription is not okay. the combined might of NATO and the UN should sort this out, not one little country being bullied by a monster.

The issue for me is less that they introduce women and more that they often introduce them only in heroic roles. Where are the women grunts who get beaten up, shot and killed like the faceless males? Men should not be pictured as the disposable sex.

The issue is that wasn't communism. it was totalitarianism under the guise of communism. Communism doesn't have a central government for example. This is like saying we shouldn't use the term "men's rights" because some idiots use the label to do bad things.

the welfare state isnt the problem, the way its implimented is. we need proper benefits that meet the cost of living and we need to reform society to not think that everyone being in full time employment is the goal anymore. embrace automation and robots doing menial labour. remove capitalism. impliment universal income to share the fruits of the automated factories and farms. allow humans to flourish freed from the yoke of meanial employment.

A man stabbing a man isn't inherently misandrist. he presumably doesn't hate all men, just that one man in particular. ditto women. if someone kills someone because they hate women, then yes they are a misogynist. by definition. but if he killed her for ANY OTHER REASON then he's just a murdering bastard like any other.

For me I think Norway has pretty much solved it. The main point though is we need to look at the social factors that lead to people ending up committing crimes in the first place. We have a responsibility as a society not to let people get into the state where crime is their only option.
/r/MensRights04/01/22 08:43 PM
10

If its a biological issue, should we be punishing people more harshly because of a fact of biology? In the same way women tend to take jobs society values less in terms of financial reward, men tend to commit crimes that society sees as worse than the ones women tend to commit. Though of course we must also consider that in both these cases, men are often pushed into these higher risk - higher rewards jobs / crimes because society is more willing to allow them to starve and be homeless.

you're breaking the established narrative that women exist as victims of men. they rhink you're trying to sacrifice better rights for women in order to get special privileges for yourself. they can't see that you really mean men need help because they can't comprehend that men CAN require help. because it's like saying a lion is scared of being eaten by a gazelle to them.

yes, though im more concerned about the ones where the mother wants to keep the baby but the father does not want to keep it. we obviously can't force a woman to not get an abortion if she wants to get one and the law allows her to get it. and although it may be devistating for the father, there is no new person born at least.

A woman can decide, after the fact, that she wants said baby. A man cannot... it is purely in the woman's court... in a strange way I get this if the man thinks like that... never thought that after all my comments etc., until now.. so ... a moral question indeed.. yes this is what i am saying. she could decide to keep the baby and the man cannot stop her. he can be forced to pay for the baby for 18 years. 9% of his salary. or oh my god... are you saying... that if the woman decides to stay preg…

no. what im saying is if a man does not want a child with that woman at that time, he can take all the protection he can and still a pregnancy can happen. but then he cant take action like a legal abortion (giving up all legal rights and responsibilities to the child) but a woman in the same situation can have an abortion.

its not a biological disadvantage. its entirely socially manufactured. we could fix it with legal changes. take it upstairs? who the fuck to? so your only solution for me is to never have sex?
/r/MensRights24/11/21 07:05 AM
16

im sorry, was someone twisting your arm to fuck a guy you didnt want to have a kid with? seriously, the contraceptive options currently open to guys suck. if the situation was reversed, women would have the choice of having their tubes tied or using a femmidom. that's it. we have no other choices. we need more funding into male contraception options.
/r/MensRights24/11/21 06:58 AM
15

women have the ability to do all of that, to allow a guy to finish in them with a condom and birth control in place, and then find it all fails and they're pregnant anyway. but they then have the option for an abortion. men do not have that option. therefore men are at a disadvantage.

im happy to take responsibility i just want the option to abort like women have. I dont want to make a woman have an abortion of course, but i should be able to legally abort as in give up all rights and responsibilities, up to the legal abortion limit or within 1 month of finding out about the baby, which ever is later.

I agree. Suicide is not an inherently gendered issue. Everyone is capable of experiencing the urge to end it, the difference is society finds the death of a woman more tragic in general so there are more resources in place to catch women earlier. Men are left alone to do what they will. On top of that, the lower social tolerance to men crying or expressing emotion means men tend to be unable to tell people when they need help.
/r/MensRights04/10/21 04:23 PM

I just emailed the person who made a module for my work training today about exactly the same issue. I think the source of the issue is the UN calls violence against women "Gender Based Violence" and uses it interchangeably, when obviously it should cover a much broader range of genders

/r/MensRights24/09/21 02:29 PM

so do you think it's okay if a woman can't defend herself?

Who said its ok women cant defend themselves It's implied by stating that it's not okay if men can't defend themselves.
/r/MensRights24/09/21 02:09 PM

but its okay if women can't defend themselves? I'm AMAB and I present as male so I'm fully aware of what men go through. I've been attacked by feminists, I've experienced the discrimination. This is exactly why we need to stand up for men and not blame them for being "weak" as you put it.
/r/MensRights24/09/21 01:30 PM
0

Obviously wimps and weak men exist cause that is the effect of feminism. I don't even know how to respond to that sentence. men being physically weak is: Not an issue in the modern world where jobs are varied and many require only brains not brawn. Nothing to do with feminism. Not a bad thing.
/r/MensRights24/09/21 01:17 PM

So are you saying the weakest man will beat the strongest woman? because that's not true. If you're not saying that, then why would you complain less about them casting a weak man than a strong woman? because you're telling me gender matters more but to me being able to take people down is the important point and that doesn't need a man it needs fighting skills.
/r/MensRights24/09/21 01:07 PM

No one deserves a death sentence. It removes the ability to fix things if the person is later found innocent. we know on this sub that many false accusations get made against people, if we execute them and then a year later the accuser admits it was made up... Well, we've got no way to get that person their life back. At least with life imprisonment you have the ability to give them a cash paymentvor something.
/r/MensRights19/09/21 08:45 AM

because unlike you, many of them cant separate "men" from "a man". And they have no incentive to do so, nay society encourages them not to do so. "be afraid of men" "watch out for men" "don't meet a man alone on a date" This allows them to feel superior to "men", but it's unearned superiority. Thank you for not being like them. I call myself an egalitarian, you might like to adopt that nomenclature too. I believe in giving everyone, regardless of characteristics, an equal chance in life.

This isn't the exact thing as I'm still looking for that as it's probably been buried. I saw it a few years ago. But this is pretty shocking: https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/education-54278727 they've found a way to frame it as it being men's fault of course.
/r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates15/09/21 01:38 PM

This is what happens if you use 'positive discrimination'. In the UK a university was prevented a few years ago from trying to prioritise working class white males, even though they were significantly underrepresented in the university.

Thank you for saying this. I use the term egalitarian myself. I want equal rights for everyone, not just men or just women.

Edit: sorry I was misremembering the Scottish hate crime bill. It has sex as an option to be added by ministers in the future. Well it wouldn't be a hate crime because men aren't protected. men are equally protected under UK law for this type of offense.
/r/MensRights12/09/21 03:08 PM

In the UK what they said would likely be prosecutable as a hate crime. however of course unless you recorded it or have witnesses its unlikely you could get a prosecution. in the US I assume unless you perceived it as a real threat, it wouldn't be prosecutable.

Without witnesses the contract is likely to not stand up. The only real way to do this would be for both parties to independently video the entire encounter and state before and after their consent on video. then both retain a copy of that video (or ideally two copies, one of each person's recording). Sounds like the start of a black mirror episode, I know.

Someone who makes a false accusation should not be given anonymity if the case gets to trial and the accused is found innocent. We need an MP to name the individual concerned in parliament. that's the only way to get around any law on naming a person without any possibility of repercussions.

This is yet another reason why I advocate for all bathrooms to be gender neutral with all stalls. it would spread the wait out more fairly, not require trans/non-binary people to "declare" their gender, get men more than one stall which is often what I experience in the UK at least (men's room is half the size with one stall and one/two urinals, women get 3/4 stalls) and prevent the double-standard illustrated here. If necessary we could provide multi-use urinals (ones designed for anyone to use…

Eh, I expected it when I made the comment. When I post on feminism subs I get called an MRA, here I've previously been called a feminist. I'm actually an egalitarian but everyone hates that too for some reason. it was a good summary but if you want you can go look up each piece of legislation and read them for yourself. they are honestly as bad as they sound here. This sort of refusal to even recognise serious problems for women is a mirror image of what feminists do. you are just as bad as them.

In the UK until 1982 single women could be refused service in pubs As could men. Not for BEING a man though. women could be refused just for being a woman. pretending women haven't had poor treatment in the past. You claim they have, but you haven't cited any specific times, places and situations, with the exception of the fact that a bar could refuse service to either gender on the grounds of gender. here you go: https://www.stylist.co.uk/visible-women/law-lawyer-feminism-today-history-gender-p…

I don't believe there has ever been a time or place where women were less privileged than men In the UK until 1982 single women could be refused service in pubs. that's just one example. the further you go back in history, the worse it gets. for long periods of history in multiple countries women couldn't own property. in many case they WERE property. Please don't give Men's Rights a worse name than it already has by pretending women haven't had poor treatment in the past.

It always has been and to a lesser or greater degree always will be. Nah, that's the line feminism uses. we need to recognise that there will be a stopping point, there will be a time when we no longer need mens rights because they just become people's rights.

It's obviously possible but I dont think that it would provided independence was achieved in a way the UK gov didn't disagree with (I.E. via an authorised poll like in the first vote). Spain is concerned about the EU recognising an entity that left its parent entity without authorisation of the parent entity. this would be different as Westminster would have authorised it.
/r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates21/08/21 07:57 PM

There is no reason Scotland should not be admitted. it would be via the normal process to join, but Scotland already meets all the criteria to do so, and was a member for over 50 years, so most of its rules and laws are already harmonised with the EU. It would take a few years, sure, but we'd get associate membership pretty quickly and full membership not too long after.

I'm a supporter of the SNP in general, but I would have liked to see a plan to address the health concerns of men as well, like male mental health support being abysmal because services treating depression and anxiety are aimed at female presentations and treatments, which discourages men from getting or sticking with help. We need programmes that help men with mental health in a more accessible way, such as outdoor activities and also a recognition that some men are unlikely to seek help if a s…

It's saying because women sometimes take out a car loan, for example, in their father's, mother's, or partner's name, they end up not building up a credit score, despite making the payments on their car. I think men should be able to opt of child support for whatever the legal term is for an abortion in their area. After that, providing he knew about the baby, he should have the option to either pay or take on equal parental duties. Where the mother won't let him have equal duties, however, then he shouldn't have to pay unless the court finds he would be unsuitable to share parental duties. Ditto for the opposite situation where the father has the baby all the time.

Gender Men are more likely to die from COVID-19 than women of the same age. Based on the scenario above, saving 1 year of life among women aged 80–84 would require 20 vaccines, compared with 13 for men of the same age, and 18 for men aged 75–79. Since I look male (I don't identify as male as such but its what it says on my birth certificate and what people catagorise me as based on my apperance) I've in the past been told to get involved in a fight that is occuring, by a woman who said "You're a guy, get in there!" I have never been in a physical fight in my life and I didn't intend to start then. I am a very introverted person who at that time had extremely low confidence. So I think the assumption that men are safe is based on the ide…

That wasn't my exact point. Even if 90% of the men in a group die off, the population will not suffer long term as the women can, from the remaining 10% of men, repopulate. But if 90% of women die off, you will have a population deficit for generations.

In terms of evolution, it absolutely makes sense we would feel the loss of a female more than a male. Women require much more time investment in the reproductive process. men are literally evolved to be the sacrificial pieces protecting the women. one man can impregnate 100s of women, but one women can't have 100s of simultanious babies. Of course, the problem is we've moved on as a society from that kind of world, at least in theory. and if that is the case, we cannot have this view of men as m…

Here's my take on it: no one should HAVE to do sex work, or in deed any other kind of work. There should be a universal basic income that means no one has to work in order to eat and have a place to sleep. But beyond that, if people WANT to do sex work, they 100% should be able to do it. It's just using the abilities you were born with. I was born with autism spectrum 'disorder' and that means in my case I have a natural affinity for seeing how to solve problems in the programming sphere. Not ev…

Yeah, I live in Dundee and in the 1800s we were the UK capital of the Jute industry. (jute is a fibre use for making sacking, sailcloth and so on) It was legal at the time to pay women and children far less than men, and as a result Dundee had a working population that was predominantly female, with boys being kicked out of their jobs as soon as they became men. As a result, the unemployed husbands became known as 'kettle boilers' because they sat at home all day with the kettle on the boil for …

I just noticed something weird here. I'm a guy and when I read "Strong men intimidate weak women" It sounds to me like the men are being criticised for being intimidating, but when I reverse it to "Strong women intimidate weak men" I read that as criticising the man for being weak. Interesting that both times my mind makes the man the one liable for the situation.

I never said it had worked yet. I'm saying that it CAN work. But until we get past this nation-state phase, the world will not accept such a society). that's not the way socialism actually works out. It depends on the scale and the group. I mean, personally I find a wide variety of women attractive so such a notice would be superfluous but if you want to do that, you certainly can. some people will take offence to it, sure, but some people take offence to the ones about men too. Of course, since women tend to contact men far less than the other way around, it may have limited impact as you simply wont contact women you don't find attractive.
