What will be interesting to see is how feminists react- if they truly support equality, they should have no problem with this. But I predict some response along the lines of “it’s wrong to recognize sexism against mean because it ignores the reality of power structures”, or some similarly disingenuous reasoning.

The tone of the article is hilarious. Clearly the author is not in favour of the idea. That's par for the course for the BBC though, unfortunately.

A girl wearing a t shirt "Boys are stupid throw rocks at them" would be a hate crime.

"All men are stupid" t shirts.

Bring it on it absolutely should be a hate crime.

The list goes on and on. A few feminist printers will go bust.

As for why hostility against men is being included too, Home Office Minister Baroness Williams says the government always responds to what "the public and other organisations are telling us". And it appears at least some feel misandry is an issue.

She said the government wasn't telling the Law Commission to recommend that misandry be included, but was simply asking for its view on the matter.

"It may well be that particular strand is not necessary to take forward, but we are asking them to look at it," she added.

I mean, I'm glad that they're looking at this but they backpeddle hard in that article... I think the worst thing is that I'm not even surprised that they are looking at introducing a law which specifically makes hate towards women a crime, where the same action towards a man would not be a crime simply because of his sex.

Hate is a thought. Hate crime is thought crime. These laws are awful and should all be abolished.

But if not, at least equally include white men as a protected group.

Utterly ridiculous, I mean, should I feel glad that feminists will inevitably end up getting jailed over their own stupid hate speech laws? I don't know, I'm that much of a free speech advocate this is unsettling, equally though this is war for them and they deliberately went out of their way to try and exclude men especially white men from hate speech laws so they could get people they disagree with thrown into jail on bullshit charges.

Now though? Assuming these laws are enforced on an equal basis ( I doubt they will be ) you can expect a ton of middle/upper class scumbags who openly preach hate against white men to be arrested within the UK. You can expect them to be absolutely scrambling their lobbyists now to get this removed because they know they'll end up in jail faster than any of the white men they hate so much.
