People who refer to non-violent speech they disagree with as "terrorism" are just would-be thought police who hate your freedom, whether you're a man or a woman. They WANT to enslave these successful women, because their jealousy and rage isn't limited to one gender.

Mainstream feminism and black feminism have had a long history of tension. While overlaps remain that bond the two worlds together, many times ideologies do not mix well considering the differences in history/power/privilege for both groups.

hooks is absolutely correct that we need to critique and push back against gratuitous sexualization. Her concern that girls might singularly internalize the notion that their worth is intrinsically tied to their bodies – and the desirability of those bodies – is equally well placed.

Or maybe call it narcissism...

We have to trust that women can be feminists, good role models and embrace sexuality. We have to believe that we can hold different points of view without labeling each other bad feminists.

but I would like to think that feminism (in addition to helping women overcome oppression in all forms) allows for women to make choices – even choices with which other feminists would disagree. It allows for women to be sexual and sexually provocative because they want to be. It allows for them to do with their bodies as they choose.
