There's so many women in there equating advocating safety with victim blaming it's ridiculous. I've never seen a clearer example of people trying to infantilize women. They're affording women no agency and if I was a women I'd be fucking offended at what half the posters in that thread are saying. At least the ones arguing that rape culture is real are generally getting down voted and their arguments getting torn apart.

I had to reread the subreddit name multiple times to make sure I was actually seeing what I thought I was seeing. The rape culturists are actually getting their shit handed to them in there. Thank god some reasonable voices are prevailing for once.

Wow. Those comments. Good points from the cop though, as cruel as it may be "Innocent until proven guilty" is our only fair way to convict a person.

Sadly though the justice system is run by humans. So... there's more than enough room for corruption and laziness.

There is a fairly prominent campaigner pushing for it to be easier to make arrests and gain convictions in sexual assault cases in the uk - see http://www.theguardian.com/law/2014/apr/02/victims-law-keir-starmer

We already have a culture in the UK of arresting people fairly quickly on sexual assault accusations, and many of these are false - http://thylacosmilus.blogspot.co.uk/search/label/lying%20about%20rape

A sexual assault related arrest in the UK means no more visa-free travel to many countries, harder to get jobs because of ECRB checks in certain fields and many other downsides. But many men are arrested here each year on the back of false rape claims.

Anyone else surprised that in the actual info graph, the number of male victims (1/10) is so close to the number of female victims (1/7)?

I know it's something we always knew, but it's refreshing to see it accepted into other places.

The amount of emotional rebuttals is outta hand. Some people are overwhelmingly ignorant and emotional and idealist and brainfuckingwashed it blows my fucking mind how people like this can even exist. Thank God for modern society or these nutcases would be starving to death.

As far as anyone can tell, in the overwhelming majority of states drunk sex is not rape, the former officer is telling them that, and they still won't accept it. Bananas.
