I'm a 50 year old father of two sons and two daughters. My wife and I both believed in treating our sides of the families as equals. One of my sons married a woman who is too controlling of them and she believes that her family always takes precedence over our side of the family. My wife and I are respectful of our daughter in law, but she isn't as as respectful towards us. My son and his wife have a seventh month old son and her parents get to see the baby more than my wife and I do. We have never been asked to babysit despite offering many times. My son always lets his wife's family have precedence.

I have noticed and talked to many others who have noted that men's families of origin are often ignored in many major events like weddings, grandchildren, etc. Our society thinks it is ok for adult women to want to visit or spend time with their parents any time they want, but men are seen as weird if they want to visit or spend with their parents. Also parents of adult men are often treated as weird or controlling if they simply want to visit their sons and have relationships with their sons' children.

Through research and looking around I have found the following sites that pretty much promote hatred towards mens' families of origin.

Overall, I'm sick and tired of the whole "A son's a son's til he takes a wife, a daughter's a daughter her whole life" attitude in society. That fucking saying promotes a lack of respect for many people who raise men and also deserve to maintain relationships after their sons marry.
