It is an ignorant article.

I will say my wife and I slept with both our daughters until they were 6-9 months old and that was a terrific experience for everyone in terms of joy, bonding and quality of sleep.

(We had a bassinet nearby for the kids to be in during at other times too.)

But if you're having a kid certainly think about sleeping with them in your bed. If there are no problems with alcohol, or perhaps weight, and you're typical adult sleepers, there will almost certainly be no problems and you won't find yourself up in the middle of the night taking the kid to and from a crib for feedings.

And it really is a lot of fun.

But the article? Sleep with them until they are 3 or 4? Fuck that noise.

How is this only bad news for dads? Isn't that kind of assuming that only men want sex? Isn't a mother going to have just as much trouble initiating sex with her husband with a baby in the bed?

My favourite medical advice is that which is based on the most minimal amount of research with a whole load on conjecture. This pediatrician should be proverbially laughed of stage.

Seriously? I'm pretty sure the majority opinion is that parents should not sleep in the same bed as infants, because they can roll over in their sleep and crush the child.
